A fun book about two young women biking through South America. They had a really easygoing relationship, and I enjoyed their sense of adventure.

Texreader I‘ll bet I‘d like this one! 7d

A fun little read, if you can call it that with a creature dug up in #Panama in the early 20th century, comes to life in modern times and could very well be the devil! This is a mixture of a range of fiction including horror, thriller, spiritual and even some romance thrown in! If you don‘t take it too seriously it is overall a fun read. Plenty of science thrown into the book too.

Andrew65 Read for #Panama for #ReadingTheAmericas2023 but only a small bit in Panama @BarbaraBB @Librarybelle

Not my normal type of book but I read this for #Guatemala for #ReadingTheAmericas2023 @Librarybelle @BarbaraBB

Despite this I did enjoy this book that told the story of Father Stanley Rother who was murdered in Guatemala in 1981, having been in Guatemala since 1968. In 2017 he was made into a Saint. A remarkable man, who was warned, and given option to leave, on the day he was murdered but refused to.

Read to cover #Guadeloupe for #ReadingTheAmericas2023 @BarbaraBB @Librarybelle.

A police procedural set in #Guadeloupe. A female body of a tourist is found on a nudist beach, and it is discovered that she has been raped and murdered. This murder is investigated by Algerian-French judge Anne Marie Laveaud. This book meandered a bit too much for me and was much longer than it needed to be. It was okay but nothing to write home about.

Andrew65 @TheSpineView This is true, it was okay but wouldn‘t read another one. Too many other better books out there. 1w

This was a family saga with magical realism and South American politics. There are stories of love but plenty of violence as well, and it does not end with a very hopeful outlook. I enjoyed the variety of characters in the family.

A romantic suspense set in #Bermuda (read for #ReadingTheAmericas2023). A woman is on her way to Bermuda to investigate her brother‘s death, when the plane crashes & she is the only survivor. She is mistaken for another passenger and uses this identity to carry out her investigation. A bit light on the investigation & too heavy on romance side for me. A soft pick. Available free to download if you are a member of Audible.

Read for #Jamaica for #ReadingTheAmericas2023 @BarbaraBB @Librarybelle

This was a very intriguing, thought provoking but overall sad story. At times I feel it moved a little too slowly and was quite clunky. Overall because of this it was a soft pick, but pleased I read it.
