Clothes-Pegs | Noel Streatfeild, Susan Scarlett
31 posts | 22 read | 18 to read
"Do you live permanently in yellow evening frocks and court gowns, or have you anything else?"Annabel laughed shakily."Of course. My own clothes.""Then go and put them on. Lovely ladies who fall over their trains need cocktails to restore them. And that's just what I'm going to take you to have."Annabel Brown has taken a job in the sewing room at Bertna's, a high-end dressmaker, to help her family's finances. When one of the "mannequins" employed downstairs quits unexpectedly, Tania Petoff, the shop's owner, decides to try lovely Annabel in her place, to the chagrin of her catty fellow models. Annabel's improved status leads to tension in her close-knit family, then (following a wardrobe malfunction) she catches the eye of wealthy Lord David de Bett-and the ire of the dreadful Honourable Octavia Glaye. How things work themselves out is as delicious a bit of frothy fun as one could well imagine.Clothes-Pegs is the first of twelve charming, page-turning romances published under the pseudonym "Susan Scarlett" by none other than beloved children's author and novelist Noel Streatfeild. Out of print for decades, they were rediscovered by Greyladies Books in the early 2010s, and Dean Street Press and Furrowed Middlebrow are delighted now to make all twelve available to a wider audience."A writer who shows a rich experience in her writing and a charm" Nottingham Journal

Another month where I didn‘t read much. Didn‘t have a favorite one but if I have to choose, then I would say was the tagged one.

Super late reading and August review🤷🏽‍♀️
I enjoyed this story about Annabel and her process to become an adult. In few pages we will see Annabel working, taking care of her family and her romance. It was Interesting maybe with a cheesy too easy ending but lovely. In less that 200 pages you see all these well developed characters and story. 3.5⭐️I love those Dean Street Press covers/editions😍

This book was entirely predictable, but the main character, Annabel, and her family are so likable that it doesn‘t matter. It‘s a nice, comfortable story, and I really enjoyed it.

Bit of a sad #BookReport this month. I can‘t remember the last time I read so little. Had an amazing two weeks away though😆

LeahBergen I‘ve had a very slow reading month (and a little holiday), too! 😆 1y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag 4 for me in January too! 2 weeks away sounds amazing 😊 1y
sisilia Aww 4 in a month is a pat on the back for me 😺 1y
MrsMalaprop Maybe meeting me inspired it😂. Two weeks enjoying Tassie would‘ve been wonderful. We‘re thinking of going for the first time this winter, but wondering whether we should wait until next summer 🤔. 1y
CarolynM @MrsMalaprop I absolutely recommend visiting Tasmania. When is best to go probably depends on what you want to do, but I think summer is probably the way to go. Scenery is always better with a bit of sunshine and walking trails are easier when they're not wet and slippery. 1y

I love the close-knit Brown family, the family dynamics. I think Ethel is the best character, supportive & is a pillar of strength. I enjoyed reading about the working life of the mannequins, and all the hard work, chaos behind the scenes of a fashion house. I‘m not impressed with ‘Uncle‘ David, or convinced of the romance, but this was a delightful read. Makes a very good escapist reading, a wonderful start for #FurrowedMiddlebrowClub this year.

batsy Great review and photo 💚 I love how Ethel always tried to provide the little comforts. 1y
Tamra I loved Ethel‘s character too! ❤️ 1y
Ruthiella How Ethel skillfully managed her family in terms of their needs and personalities was impressive! I‘ve never been so pleased about curtains! 😄 1y

jlhammar Pretty photo! Ethel really was the best. 1y
erzascarletbookgasm @Ruthiella Curtains are no joke, they make or break the living room! 😁 1y
shawnmooney Great review! Wasn't Ethel the bees knees? I certainly wouldn't defend David, but correct me if I'm wrong: weren't all of his awful comments to Annabel in the context of that one misunderstanding, and he went back to being his formerly sweet self as soon as that got clarified? I thought so, but might I have missed others? Anyway this book delighted me. Glad it was a pick for you too! 1y
erzascarletbookgasm @shawnmooney You remember correctly! I really think he doesn‘t deserve Annabel. 🤷‍♀️Glad you love the book. 1y

This self-described bit of ‘frothy fun‘ was an enjoyable light read with the #FurrowedMiddlebrowClub. A vivid view of a 1930s era clothing shop as well as the delightful home life of the Brown family. I have to admit Annabel the MC was basically the least interesting character so it was not unputdownable for me. I was also not smitten by the male lead. I AM glad to have read my first Susan Scarlett and look forward to more!

Tamra He did have some off putting ways of talking to Annabel. 😒 1y
jlhammar Great review! It seems like we all appreciated the Brown family scenes. Yeah, the whole “Uncle David“ thing, calling Annabel kid and little idiot and what not just did not strike me as the makings of a wonderful marriage. 1y
See All 19 Comments
batsy Yes, Annabel and David were the weakest characters in this, somehow. It felt like Streatfeild enjoyed writing about the others more 😁 1y
LeahBergen Lovely review! And I‘ll echo @batsy here: I, too, think Streatfeild always likes her supporting cast better than her stars. 😆 I‘ve definitely noticed this in all her children‘s books that I‘ve read, too! 1y
Jess_Read_This @jlhammar I wonder since we all loved the family scenes best if we‘d love the Shoes series the best then. I haven‘t read them yet and was going to try for a few this year to compare. 1y
Jess_Read_This Nice review! I agree on the supporting cast! 1y
Ruthiella You see that with Dickens too - it‘s the side characters who really shine. OTOH, I would have wholeheartedly lapped the romance up if I‘d read this 30 years ago! 1y
quietjenn Yes, compared to some others, Anabel is a bit milquetoast. And you DSP/FMB pile totally made my me go 😲 1y
LeahBergen @Ruthiella Oh, that‘s such a good point about Dickens! 1y
LeahBergen @Jess_Read_This Exactly! The family scenes are just the coziest. I try to read one or two of her children‘s books every year. Last year‘s reads were The Growing Summer and White Boots. 😊 They‘re perfect if you‘re sick with a cold or feeling a bit fragile. 😆 1y
LeahBergen @elkeOriginal I can see you‘re a bit of a middlebrow stockpiler (like myself)! 🤣 1y
erzascarletbookgasm I‘m still reading it, so I‘m ignoring the comments above…but I just want to say, what a great pile of DSP books! 😻 1y
Cathythoughts Nice review! Nice stack too 🥰 1y
Cathythoughts @LeahBergen I‘ve never read her before. I might get one for my granddaughter, she‘s 9. 👍🏻💕 1y
LeahBergen @Cathythoughts That‘s a perfect age for her children‘s books. 😊 1y
CarolynM Lovely review. The family really were the stars of the show🥰 1y
erzascarletbookgasm Nice review! My first Susan Scarlett too. 1y
shawnmooney Great review! I'm drawn to characters who struggle to break out of their meekness, so I loved Annabel. I can't wait to read more by Susan Scarlett and her alter-ego Noel Streatfeild! 1y

I loved getting a look at the workings of a fashion house, including wonderful descriptions of clothing in the making, fitting & modelling. But, my favorite scenes in the book were those featuring Annabel‘s family. Her mother & father, in particular, were fabulous characters! There were lovely descriptions of family life: meals, a garden, stories, jokes & laughter. It was a delightful read & perfect for the weekend.

#FurrowedMiddlebrowClub

Ruthiella Yes! The comfort and security of Annabel‘s home life was a great contrast to the stresses of the design house. 1y
catebutler @Ruthiella I loved how down to earth her family was. It really showed why and how Annabel was so unique and special, and different from the other models. 1y

shawnmooney Co-signing this! I was really drawn, pretty much equally, to the dress shop setting and the home setting. Do you know anything about the whole mannequin/model thing described in the book? A charming book, except for the story about the cat. 😡 That‘s the kind of kid who grows up to be a serial killer.

Believe it or not, I‘ve never read any of Noel Streatfeild‘s books for children. Where should I start?

Bluebird 👀 i have the same question! I‘ve got this book on my TBR list, but want to try her children‘s books but don‘t know where to start. (I first heard of the shoe series from the movie You‘ve Got Mail). 1y
Ruthiella Yes, the bit about the cat didn‘t wash! Love your picture of models of that era. It would have made a good cover for the book! I think Ballet Shoes is Streatfeild‘s most famous children‘s book. 1y

rubyslippersreads @Bluebird I‘m glad I‘m not the only Streatfeild newbie. 😊 1y
elkeOriginal Me = also new to Streatfield! 1y
Tamra Ooooo that pic! 😍 1y
LeahBergen @Bluebird @rubyslippersreads @elkeOriginal I think Ballet Shoes is a good place to start with her or else pick one of the “Shoe” books that jibes more with your interest than ballet. The Painted Garden (aka: Movie Shoes) is about a young English girl who goes to LA to act in the movie of The Secret Garden. White Boots (aka: Skating Shoes) is about figure skating friends and Tennis Shoes is about … well, I‘m sure you can guess. 😆 ⬇️ 1y
LeahBergen Her straight “family stories” are super charming, too (Caldicott Place, Apple Bough, The Growing Summer, etc). 1y
quietjenn The cat story was so weird and random! But I do love this image. I've not read all the children's books - she was so prolific! - but I think I probably read Ballet Shoes first 1y
Cathythoughts It really is charming ! 🥰 I live your picture 👌🏻 1y
rockpools What @LeahBergen said! Ballet Shoes is probably her best known, but Apple Bough is one of my all-time favourites. 1y
batsy Love this pic! @rockpools @LeahBergen The Shoes books are some of my favourites ever 💕 I must get around to the others, like Apple Bough. 1y
Jess_Read_This Perfect picture to accompany your review! @rockpools @LeahBergen Thanks for sharing your Shoes books recs and insights. I read Ballet Shoes as a child and none of her other books. I‘m feeling the nudge to pick up her children‘s books in 2023. I‘m not familiar with Apple Bough and love the title. 1y
Aimeesue Lovely illustration! Suits the book perfectly. ❤️ 1y
jlhammar Love this illustration. I look forward to trying some of these suggestions. And oh my gosh, yes, that cat story! Disturbing. 1y
LeahBergen @rockpools @batsy @Jess_Read_This Yes, Apple Bough is wonderful. The US title is Travelling Shoes (many of her books were renamed with a ‘Shoes‘ title in the US). 😊 1y
willaful Dancing Shoes was one of my favorites, and Skating Shoes also. Skating Shoes has similar family vibes to Clothes-pegs -- though honestly her books do tend to run similar. (No problem for me as a child!)

In “ordinary“ books, I really liked The Magic Summer, despite it disappointingly having no magic. (I think it's The Growing Summer in England.)
1y
Bluebird @LeahBergen @rockpools @willaful thanks for the suggestions! I will start with Ballet Shoes and go on from there. Will make sure Apple Bough (Traveling Shoes) is on my list. I think I need to add Clothes-Peg too (despite the cat) So many great comments about it. 😄 (edited) 1y
willaful @rubyslippersreader I'm for that! 1y
erzascarletbookgasm I love this illustration! I‘m up for some Shoes reading, too (if I can access to some copies) 😊 1y

This was a sweet fairy tale of a story set in the world of of 1930s English fashion; a world which the author knew something about, having been a model herself.

I would love to read a sequel featuring Lorna and her years at Mallory Towers! 😂 I know she was pretty awful, but I was also a mouthy, bad attitude kid (minus the shoplifting) and I have a soft spot for her and her ilk.

#FurrowedMiddlebrowClub

LeahBergen Ohhhh, I would SO read about her exploits at a Blyton-esque boarding school! 🤣🤣 Love it! 1y
Ruthiella @LeahBergen A Midnight picnic or two and some good clean sports will set her right in no time! 😂 1y

Ruthiella @Jess_Read_This Thanks! She‘s certainly redeemable and I liked her quick if snarky wit. 1y
jlhammar I would love more Lorna! She was a great character. 1y
Ruthiella @jlhammar l‘m gonna go out on a limb and say she had more personality than Annabel. Though when Annabel slapped Freda, it was pretty satisfying. 1y
Tamra I would have liked more of all the family characters! 1y
Ruthiella @Tamra The spin off possibilities are endless! Ethel and George: -The Golden Years, Artie‘s Adventures in the RAF, Bernadette and Jim‘s Little Motors and How They Grew… 1y
Tamra @Ruthiella 😆 yes!! 1y
quietjenn @Ruthiella I'm in love with these spin off ideas. I wonder if there is Susan Scarlett fanfic? Great comments! (edited) 1y
Ruthiella @quietjenn The idea of Susan Scarlett fanfic is a fun one! 1y
batsy I agree! Lorna and a Mallory Tower-esque spinoff would have been brilliant. 1y
batsy @Ruthiella @jlhammar I agree! Annabel needed more spikiness to her. I found the slap very satisfying for that reason 😆 1y
Cathythoughts I‘d love a follow up on Lorna too. I liked her. 1y
Ruthiella @Cathythoughts @batsy We‘ll have to imagine our own happy end for Lorna. 😊 1y
erzascarletbookgasm Hahaha, I‘ll like to read about Lorna & her misadventures at the boarding school too! She‘s not awful, actually, very realistic character. 1y
Ruthiella @erzascarletbookgasm Yes, Lorna is a middle class child who yearns for more than her situation provides; very relatable! 1y

Early in this one, our heroine Annabel has the following exchange, with fellow mannequin and friend Bernadette.
“Have you ever been at a stuffy cocktail party and come out to find a lovely night,
with a breeze to blow the drinks and cigarettes away?“
“No. Why?“
“That's how you've made me feel.“
And it's a pretty apt summation of the book overall, from my perspective. It's a light and airy confection, perfectly charming.

quietjenn Such dear parents, such an ideal understanding boss, such a low-stakes romance. It does indeed make for quite the cozy fairy tale, in every sense. #furrowedmiddlebrowclub

LeahBergen Lovely review. I kept thinking to myself while I read it, “Yes. This is exactly what I‘d want to read during the war”. There‘s enough tension to keep you invested in the story but you feel sure of a happy outcome (like in all good fairy tales). 😊 1y
batsy That's a great quote to sum up the book! Nice review 🌞 1y
shawnmooney I'm so glad you quoted this; that bit of dialogue really is the perfect example of how this book went deep in terms of depicting the relationships between the characters while also working so well on the lighter level. Loved it! 1y

I can definitely see why this novel was so popular during the war; it is hopeful, cheerful, and embraces the reader in family comfort. I especially liked the domestic scenes - so cozy! #furrowedmiddlebrowclub

The introduction by Elizabeth Crawford to this sweet, feel-good book by Noel Streatfeild writing as Susan Scarlett correctly says that it offers "daydreams to her readers". These are mid-century romances & like Streatfeild's books for children, are suffused with warmth & brimming with charming details of everyday life. I loved being with the Brown family, especially as they made their way through their delicious Sunday tea! #FurrowedMiddlebrowClub

batsy I also loved the details about fashion & modelling during that period, & the way the labour that goes into it was described in detail. And to learn that socialites paid a "publicity man" to do their PR back then—some things are eternal. I was less enamoured of David because as @jlhammar points out the way he sometimes treated or spoke to Annabel felt a bit superior, but that's the way it probably was in that era, especially with aristocratic men. 1y
Aimeesue Oh, those teas! Swimps! 1y

batsy @Tamra Thank you! 😊 1y
jlhammar Well said. Great review! 1y
jlhammar @batsy And yes, exactly, that‘s what I meant with how he spoke to her throughout. Very of the time, but I couldn‘t help but look at how George was towards Ethel and wish she had found a relationship more like that. 1y
batsy @jlhammar Thank you! And great point about George and Ethel. A marriage of equals. I think the class and age difference has probably something to do with it where David and Annabel are concerned. 1y
Jess_Read_This Lovely review! I agree with @Aimeesue about the teas and swimps! 1y
Cathythoughts Yes, the warmth of their everyday meals and their little ways of filling their days 🥰🥰🥰 Great review ♥️ 1y
batsy @Jess_Read_This Thank you! I really wanted to be invited to their Sunday tea 😆 1y
batsy @Cathythoughts Thanks, Cathy! Yes it felt so homey and soothing, all those little rituals and meals and how Ethel looked out for them ❤️ 1y
quietjenn Those teas! I totally want to drop by one weekend, and I don't even like shrimp! 1y
Ruthiella Definitely a cozy read! 1y
LeahBergen I was going to comment “shrimps for tea!” but I see we ALL liked that part. 😆😆 1y
rubyslippersreads The “Uncle David” thing was a bit much. 😏 But I loved the 🍤🍤🍤 1y

Annabel is promoted from seamstress to glamorous mannequin (what we now call a “model”) in a high-end London fashion house and finds romance (and catty women) along the way.

I very much enjoyed this light romance/Cinderella story and definitely saw a lot of parallels with Noel Streatfeild‘s children‘s stories; she always has the coziest of home scenes and the most comforting of parents (dear Ethel and George)!

#FurrowedMiddlebrowClub

andrew61 I listened today to the Backlisted Christmas edition about Ballet Shoes. She sounded like a fascinating character and they played a piece from her desert islands discs, what a voice. I'll definitely try and read some of her adult books this year. 1y

Aimeesue @andrew61 That was a fab episode of Backlisted. I loved the part where they read the "similar" passages from Ballet Shoes and The Whicharts ? 1y

Cathythoughts Lovely review Leah. As for the photo … beautiful 👌🏻 1y
LeahBergen @andrew61 I have to listen to that soon! The novels that she wrote under the name Susan Scarlett are definitely of the “light” romance variety but the ones under her own name seem to be a bit more “literary” (for what that‘s worth 😆). Persephone Books published this one that I‘ve been meaning to get to 1y
LeahBergen @rubyslippersreads I‘m not sure! She was in the frame when I bought it. 😆😆 1y
LeahBergen @jlhammar You must try one if you liked the dynamics of Annabel‘s family; they all have that lovely, cozy feel to them. 😊 1y
LeahBergen @Aimeesue I have a copy of The Whicharts and I‘m kind of looking forward to a grittier Ballet Shoes. 😆 1y
LeahBergen @batsy I would like to come home to Ethel everyday, fussing about over dry feet and cottage pies. 😆 1y

Tamra @LeahBergen oh yes indeed re: feet & pies. 😆 (edited) 1y
quietjenn Lovely comments and points. It's so interesting to compare and contrast the various children's books v. the literary adult books v. the Scarlett books. What a fascinating woman she was! And how fond I am of the characters she created. 1y
LeahBergen @Jess_Read_This Thank you! 😘 1y
LeahBergen @Aimeesue I‘ve read some angry reviews of The Whicharts! I guess some people don‘t like to see a mutilation of their childhood favourite. 😆😆 1y
LeahBergen @quietjenn Her characters leap from the page. My most recent read of her children‘s books was White Boots and I kept noticing similarities in the best characters of both these novels. 1y

Best of luck to you, Spring Song!

Such a pleasant read. The fashion and romance were fun (though I must confess to missing the great allure of Lord David de Bett—Annabel is just so young and I wasn‘t crazy about the way he spoke to her), but my favorite parts took place at 110 Mercia Lane with the Brown family. Loved George and Ethel.

#FurrowedMiddlebrowClub

LeahBergen Lovely review! I‘m thinking Ethel and George will keep Spring Song well grounded. 😆 1y
Ruthiella Yeah, one has to keep in mind when it was written regarding romance and what was acceptable then. I‘m hoping to dive in and finish this tonight after work. 1y
willaful I also didn't care for David much. Babbacombe's is rather similar to this (best not to read them too close together) but the love interest is more appealing, thank goodness. 1y

Jess_Read_This I love this photo. The Lily picture with the book is just perfect! I loved how the family gardened together and the scene where the garden is planned out. 1y
jlhammar @Aimeesue Just realized I missed tagging you. Apologies! 1y
batsy Great review! I felt the same about David. I keep thinking I need a coda where Annabel stands up to him a bit and shows her spiky side 😁 1y
Aimeesue @jlhammar no worries! Especially as I just sort of crashed the Furrowed Middlebrow party 😋 1y
Aimeesue @Ruthiella Indeed. It was a whole 'nother world. David getting snippy with Annabel sure looks a lot different this century. (edited) 1y
Cathythoughts Great review 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Yes I agree with you about David ! 1y
LeahBergen Oh, that‘s true! I found “Lord” David a bit harsh when he ripped into Annabel over her naive misunderstanding. 1y
elkeOriginal @willaful Thanks for the heads up to separate these a bit! And that the love interest is better 😉 1y
elkeOriginal @LeahBergen @willaful I finally read the portion when he scolds her…I did NOT like his tone 😡 1y

Behind the scenes at a fashion parade, 1930s

Found a great blog post from several years back with lots of great photos (link in comments below). Helps me picture Bernadette, Elizabeth, Freda and Annabel in the models‘ room at Bertna‘s.

Before this book I had no idea that fashion models were ever called mannequins or clothes pegs. Love learning little things like that.

Okay, back to my reading. Almost finished!

Ruthiella You always do such awesome research for the #FurrowedMiddlebrowClub ! Thanks for this. Occasionally in old movies you see a character in a department store having the outfits “shown” on live models, which always impressed me. 1y

“And a nice packet of nasturtiums,” Ethel put in. “Nothing like a packet of them for show.”
George sighed. Every year Ethel wanted nasturtiums. Not for worlds would he had deprived her of them if she wanted them, but he wished she fancied something else. To his eye nasturtiums flaunting and rioting over the beds spoilt the effect at which he aimed.

Loving this garden planning scene. I‘m with Ethel—🧡 nasturtiums!

batsy Like @Ruthiella the garden bits in this made me wish I had a green thumb! 1y
CarolynM I don‘t know why George was so mean about nasturtiums, they‘re lovely. We often grow them. 1y
jlhammar @CarolynM I suppose they are more suited to a natural/wilder look in the garden. Seems like George might be more of a tidy/manicured garden kind of guy. I agree with @LeahBergen about how sweet he is to want to make Ethel happy with nasturtiums despite his own preferences. I also really loved that Ethel used her curtain money to sneak in some extra lily bulbs for George. 1y
willaful My husband had just BETTER not say anything about my nasturtiums! 😁 Honestly, I don't think I could get rid of them if I wanted to. The gophers always eat them but they always come back.

They are a really charming family.

I loved the father winding the clock. I loved when she bought her first two piece… ‘ a rediculously simple but enchantingly well-cut garment ‘.
Even though she was cutting the apron strings, she was still fiercely protective of her family. I was teary eyed at the end. ♥️♥️♥️ Loved this one. #FurrowedMiddlebrowClub

jlhammar Wonderful review! Really enjoying it so far. Hope to finish up today or tomorrow. I just recently watched the film Mrs Harris Goes to Paris. Set later than Clothes-Pegs (1950s), but the behind the scenes at a high-end fashion house were great images to have for this one. A fun and heartwarming movie. 1y
Aimeesue Great review! My grandparents had a similar clock - I used to be fascinated, watching my grandfather wind it once a week - so I noticed that mention too. Such a nice portrayal of people both aggravating and supporting each other 🥰 1y

Just read the introduction by Elizabeth Crawford. I love that Streatfeild‘s Susan Scarlett books were categorized as “perfect reading for Black-out nights for the lady of the house.” I think about that woman at home in 1939 for whom a light and charming read like this may have been a balm.

She also mentions Noel Streatfeild‘s appearance on Desert Island Discs. Definitely worth a listen if you haven‘t yet (link below).

Aimeesue Backlisted's Xmas podcast was on Streatfeild s Ballet Shoes, and had some clips of her being interviewed in ancient times. Really fab episode! https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/backlisted/id1063252175?i=1000591213190 1y
jlhammar @Aimeesue Oooh, I haven‘t listened to that one yet. Love Backlisted! 1y
CarolynM Thanks for the link. I wouldn‘t have thought to look for her on Desert Island Discs. It is, indeed, a treasure trove @quietjenn I‘ll only mention one favourite episode - Jessica Mitford 1y
LeahBergen Such a cool photo! Thanks for sharing. 1y
quietjenn @CarolynM oh! I adore Decca, so definitely going to listen to that one! 1y
Centique Oh wow. I just listened to Streatfeild on Desert Island Discs and she was delightful! Thank you so much for that link. I am a massive Streatfeild fan so that was such a treat. 1y

Cathythoughts Thanks Ruth. I was only wondering what our next book is. I‘ll head to my shelf immediately and have a look 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥰 1y
Tamra @Cathythoughts I think you‘re going to really enjoy this one given your love of clothing & fashion! 😃 1y
Cathythoughts @Tamra Oh very good 😃🥰 1y
LeahBergen Here‘s a thought: Why don‘t we begin to choose our books for the remainder of the year now (as we only read six)? And then I can make up a handy post/graphic for us? It might help some people to find them on Kindle deals, etc. @quietjenn has March; I have May; @CarolynM has July; @Cathythoughts has September and @Ruthiella has November. We‘ll take it in turns to make a post with 2 options so we don‘t double up on suggestions. What do you think? 1y
CarolynM @LeahBergen Excellent idea. I‘ll go and choose some options right away. 1y
Ruthiella @LeahBergen Sounds like a plan! 👍 1y
quietjenn Yes, i think that makes a lot of sense. I knew I was coming up, so I've been contemplating things - will try to narrow it down and make a post tonight or tomorrow. @LeahBergen (edited) 1y
LeahBergen @quietjenn Great! I‘ll tag you in the post where I listed our “voting” members so you know who to tag, too. 1y
Cathythoughts @LeahBergen Sounds great Leah X ❤️ 1y
Kimzey Glad to be a part of this group. Will get started this weekend! 1y
