Breast Cancer: Current and Emerging Trends in Detection and Treatment | 
Thank you to everyone who wished me good vibes and prayers. I am cancer-free and have been in remission for a year. 🎉I went through 6 months of iv chemo (AC - 4; Taxol - 12; + carbo - 5 txts). IV chemo was done on Thanksgiving 2020.
My double mastectomy took place on 12/09/20. No PCR, but 3 clear nodes removed and they believe they removed all of the tumor. Radiation (c. 3/02/20), oral chemo (c. 6/2021), and reconstruction surgery (c. 10/13/21).
Jess7 In abundance of caution we proceeded with the recommendation of 25 rounds of radiation contemporaneous with six months of oral chemo (Xeloda) I‘m not going to like the treatment was awful but I‘m so glad to be over that milestone! Lastly, my first reconstruction surgery on Oct 13, went well. Now it‘s more of a waiting game to see if I can beat the high recurrence rates. 1 year down (12.09.), two go (edited) 2y

eanderson Yayy! That‘s amazing news! I love seeing stories like this! I finished my chemo in August and am currently taking a Parp inhibitor (Lynparza) and doing MVASI (Avastin) every 3 weeks for 2 years. I‘m down to 21 months now! I‘m a ovarian cancer warrior. It also has a high reoccurrence rate and pops up 12-24 months after. I can‘t wait to be in remission! (edited) 2y
