The 18th Abduction
The 18th Abduction | James Patterson, Maxine Paetro
12 posts | 8 read | 2 reading | 9 to read
The #1 bestselling female detective of the past 50 years is back. Detective Lindsay Boxer and her husband Joe Molinari team up to protect San Francisco from an international war criminal in the newest Women's Murder Club thriller. Three female schoolteachers go missing in San Francisco, and Detective Lindsay Boxer is on the case-which quickly escalates from missing person to murder. Under pressure at work, Lindsay needs support at home. But her husband Joe is drawn into an encounter with a woman who's seen a ghost--a notorious war criminal from her Eastern European home country, walking the streets of San Francisco. As Lindsay digs deeper, with help from intrepid journalist Cindy Thomas, there are revelations about the victims. The implications are shocking. And when Joe's mystery informant disappears, joining the ranks of missing women in grave danger, all evidence points to a sordid international crime operation. It will take the combined skills of Lindsay, Joe, and the entire Women's Murder Club to protect their city, and themselves, from a monster.

I mean I will keep reading them as long as they keep getting published but I need more of Women‘s Murder Club! The storyline with Joe, Lindsay, and Conklin was great-very engaging and a few triggers. However, Yuki, Cindy, and Claire were so overlooked. We are a bit of them but I felt like that group dynamic between them was forgotten and I missed it.

TrishB I really didn‘t like 17 for pretty much the same reasons, not really focusing on all of them. I‘ve put off buying this because of it, maybe I‘ll leave for a kindle deal. 1d
JoScho @TrishB I could be wrong but I feel like there was@more of them in 17 than 18. 21h
TrishB Definitely going to wait for an offer 👍🏻 20h

I am spending this weekend on the middle peninsula of Virginia called the Northern Neck Rivah Country. I am staying at a house which backs to the Chesapeake Bay. This is the view but it is it raining. So I am enjoying my book.

ChasingOm My grandparents lived in the Northern Neck! Which town are you in? 1w
Graciouswarriorprincess @ChasingOm Montross. My better half used to live in Lancaster and his brother lives in Montross. We are visiting him. Where do your grandparents live? 1w
ChasingOm They lived out on Cole‘s Point, near Hague. We would drive through Montross to get there. 😄 1w
Graciouswarriorprincess @ChasingOm I know there. His brother lives in Cabin Point outside of Montross. I love that area. 1w

Enjoying this more than the last book in the series. Already 50% through.

TrishB Interesting. I thought the last one was a massive disappointment and I wouldn‘t buy the next.... 2w
JeansBookshelf @TrishB The last one was a disappointment. I decided to give it one more chance with this book. This one isn't a courtroom book like the last one. I hated that. I borrowed it from the library so I didn't have to buy it 😂 2w
TrishB I may wait for a kindle offer 👍🏻 2w

I didn't like the last book in this series so this book is the last chance I'm giving the series. 25% in and it's more interesting than the last book so far.

Riding in the car with my brother and just got overly excited about snagging this on the day my library released it! He doesn‘t get it. Thankfully Littens do! Yes!!!

I think this is Patterson‘s latest book. #AnotherOneBitesTheDust #Anglophile

I don‘t read him any longer, but you have to admit, he‘s prolific if nothing. I wonder if when he wraps his latest, does he sing Another One Bites the Dust?

Kappadeemom He bathes in his money 😂 1mo

ravenlee I‘ve bern wondering for years how much “collaborating” he actually does. I‘m guessing his contributions go something like “here‘s the title, and these are the characters. And I thought of a good line, work it in somewhere. Let me know when it‘s done.” 1mo
Mdargusch Very funny thought! 🤩 1mo
Reviewsbylola My dad really likes his books. I‘ve read one. 😄 1mo
Samplergal @Reviewsbylola I read a bunch of his early ones. I haven‘t for years. Those were the days when I had young children, so I guess that all I could get through. A chapter a day. 😂😂😂😂 does he still have like 2000 chapters? 1mo

Another great book from James Patterson 😊
I do love this series and the story was really good. Just wish Claire, Cindy and Yuki were in it abit more. The story focused on Lindsay and Joe working two cases that ended up collliding.

Can't wait for number 19 in October ❤
