Charlotte Holmes and Jamie Watson finally have a chance to start over. With all the freedom their pre-college summer program provides and no one on their tail, the only mystery they need to solve, once and for all, is what they are to each other.

Charlotte and Jamie are in Oxford for the summer to take a few classes and look into a mysterious disappearance. They can also finally begin to learn what they could be together, but a murder upends their plans. This was a delight. I will miss Charlotte Holmes and Jamie Watson. It was a wonderful way to begin my 2024 reading journey. 4+/5 ⭐️for an excellent ending to this series.

A lovely ending to this series. I‘ve truly fallen in love with the young, complicated Holmes and Watson, and their reimagined selves feel more real to me than the original characters. The Shakespeare bits woven through the story were especially effective. Just wonderful! #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks

Four book later, I have a permanent soft spot for Charlotte and Jamie. I loved how they got to the point where they didn't want to tackle life without the other. Perfect compliments of the other.

I loved this series for the satisfying mystery/YA aspects, but truly felt it could‘ve been better to end it on book 3 with the more optimistic, open-ended resolution to Jamie & Charlotte‘s relationship. Also don‘t love the overly simplistic resolutions with nominal “friends” who‘ve repeatedly and egregiously betrayed them, and Jamie‘s untreated PTSD that seems to inexplicably go unnoticed by everyone and then just disappear.

When you get excited with a beautiful cover and a modern day retelling/sequel of Sherlock Holmes, it might be a good idea to check whether it is a part of a series or not 🤦🏻‍♀️
This is the concluding book of the series where Charlotte Holmes is the great-great-heart-granddaughter of Sherlock and Jamie Watson is the greatX3 grandson of Watson. I may have missed out a great. Anyway, I enjoyed this YA novel and will definitely read the series.

LiteraryinLawrence I liked the first one and am partway through the second! 4y

The mystery itself was straightforward but missing the excitement that I‘ve come to expect. I would have been ok with that but the angst of the ill-fated romance between Watson & Holmes is just…well...come on! I can say that I wish that this series had just cut out the romance entirely. Sorry, but it left me feeling like Jamie deserved much more & the epilogue gave me no relief because given the history in this series I just don‘t believe it.

...4 books and I still can't figure out how I feel about the romance lol

I feel like this mystery was a little juvenile and the wrap up was a but too simple...I also don't know if this book was necessary in the series but I did enjoy it

[#BookReview] A Question For Holmes by Brittany Cavallaro. Unfortunately, I wasn‘t the biggest fan of the final book in the Charlotte Holmes series. Mostly because of how absolutely dull the mystery/case was throughout the entire book. However, I did enjoy some aspects of the conclusion to one of my favorite book series.

Since I read the first one in the series, A Study in Charlotte, I‘ve impatiently waited for the next. A fun modern twist to Holmes and Watson (who wouldn‘t be who they were without Moriarty). Highly recommend this series.

Charlotte and Jamie are in Oxford to attend a summer program when a mystery presents itself, naturally the game‘s a foot. I admit to being a bit tearful at the end of this one , it feels like closure , an ending for the reader and a beginning for this cute crime busting couple.

I just adored this series. Cavallaro‘s Holmes and Watson are complex, well-drawn characters, and I couldn‘t wait to see what happened next. I‘m sad to say goodbye to them, but this book was a fitting conclusion to the series.

mom2bugnbee I DIDN'T KNOW THE NEW ONE WAS OUT! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! I love these. And I unapologetically picture Charlotte as Benedict Cumberbatch's daughter. 5y

This series ended up growing on me so much that I'm sad to let it go. I took these characters for granted through the first two books, as they grew into themselves and I fell in love and now it's over and I'm feeling a little bereft. Still, this was a solid and satisfying ending to the quartet.

This was an almost perfect conclusion to the series. The story could have been a bit longer. There could have been a bit more things fleshed out between Holmes and Watson, and the case was wrapped up a bit too quickly, but everything came together nicely. I‘m going to miss complicated, not always likeable Holmes, but I look forward to reading new things from Cavallaro.

Also, I recommend reading the series on audio. They‘re very well done.
