This is my favorite of the Bridgerton series so far!
From the previous 3, I liked Colin the best, so I couldn't wait to get to his story.
I really liked Penelope! I love how Lady Danbury brought out her confidence!

I am ready for May 16th! This book is going to be clearly different than the series with one of the only similarities being Penelope is Lady Whistledown. But I still can‘t wait for the series! As for the book, it was exactly what I expected. It‘s written like the other two I read. It‘s enjoyable and steamy. I also liked how Penelope came out of her shell in the book and her friendship with Lady Danbury, hopefully that happens in the series too.

Netflix virtual screening sneak peek of season 3, episode 1!

The newest Apple+ adaption of Edith Wharton's Buccaneers, while anticipated by me, also has me pondering the uptick in recent classics adapted in similar tones to Bridgerton, like Netflix's 2022 Persuasion, to varying degrees of success. While the sample size is small, it has me thinking about why we're gravitating to the classics to satisfy the demand of Bridgerton instead of adapting more romance novels. https://youtu.be/JAnoZDloO18

Nothing better than Julia Quinn on a cold day in PA. I can tell that this will go fast. I just started reading it and 125 pages are gone! The Bridgerton family makes easy to like them.

Here are some of the books I plan to read for #wintergames. I'm a mood reader, so we'll see which of these I stick to and what others I add.

The porch swing was one of our best purchases this year. (Idk why my pics are posting sideways. I'm using web until the android app is up and the photo editor is super hard to navigate.)

Found out about this through the show and wanted to give it a read. I must report that I found the book okay-ish. The first half is entertaining, but the second seems dragged out and boring. Maybe the overall series makes for a better read. But honestly, I‘m not too inclined to spend my time on it right now.

Book 4. Penelope 💛. I unapologetically love these books and save them for when comfort reading is needed. This didn‘t disappoint.

Finished this over coffee this morning. I will say I was quite excited for Colin and Penelope‘s story, so I was a bit disappointed when it felt so slow. Maybe I just expected their friend‘s to lovers ah-ha moment to be bigger than it was. Still an enjoyable read. I‘m loving getting to know some of the younger Bridgerton siblings personalities.

Out of all the stories this was the one felt the most rushed and awkward. There was no real chemistry and even the spicy scenes were a little lacking. The romance felt a completely rushed and there wasn‘t nearly enough time spent on the reasons why they loved each other. It felt so much more forced than the others in the series. I thought the stakes weren‘t as high as the other books, there wasn‘t a climax that really made the relationship work.

Just finished the fourth book in the Bridgerton series. I enjoyed the book. This series is going to be the next one I collect. To me it is a quick read and I already know the characters. I rated this book a 3 out of 5 stars

as always, it's a pleasure to read another installment of Julia Quinn's books. You might think that you should be tired by now, but you are wrong. The books never cease to surprise you even though the background of the books are similar. Julia always manages to find that little something extra which means you can't stop reading.

Its ridiculous how much I'm enjoying this series. Quinn is great at characters and the reading is easy so I'm flying through the series. The only question now is whether I'll enjoy the TV series as much as the books. #76-2022

I loved this book a lot, but Benedict‘s book is my favorite (for now), so since I loved Benedict‘s so much Colin‘s book felt a little bit underwhelming.
Only because in my head I keep comparing the books, if that wasn‘t the case then I would be completely OBSESSED with this book.

Why Julia took the most loving character and turned him into a raging asshole in this book is a wonder to me. Colin.. sweet, easy-going Colin.. yet we see another side to him in this story. Then she kinda just blamed it on “love.” Idk, I hope the show adaption shows more passion and less red-flag abuser vibes. I am glad they are hopping right into this story line with the next season. I don‘t see how they could drag Pen and Col out anymore after⬇️

Because I loved Benedict‘s story so much I jumped right into my favorite character‘s story Penelope ..: I mean Colin. Must finish before the season starts! #bridgerton

I couldn‘t wait, so I decided to go ahead and dive into Colin again. It‘s been at least 10 years since I‘ve read these, so I guess I‘ve blocked out how awful these guys get when they feel threatened or slighted. Even my sweet baby angel Colin turned into a douche canoe over lady whistledown. Besides that, love this book, Penelope is adorable. Colin, grow up.

I have fallen in love with the Bridgerton series. Now I have absolutely read them out of order though. I have skip a few books and red this one because I adore Penelope and her storyline and was just too impatient to wait. It‘s a very cute will they won‘t they story and I‘m excited to read the rest I. The series. Along with see how they do her story in the Netflix series

I adore Penelope and Colin together! This was another wonderful addition to the Bridgerton series. I like that this one had a bit more substance after they got together. A must read for all Bridgerton fans!

I have loved Penelope throughout these books and this is her story! Truly a fun read with two wonderful characters finding their HEA. Again this is a light and fun romance read. #romantsy

For fans of the Bridgerton adaptation on Netflix, they're going a little out of order. Which means Benedict/Sophie fans are going to have to wait a little longer, because Penelope and Colin are about to have their moment! Yay!

Another good installment of the series. My favorite couple yet, and they are already showing some hints of their romance in the show.

It seems like each time I finish a Bridgerton novel it becomes my new favorite Bridgerton novel… not sure how long that could possibly hold up. 😅

So satisfying to finally get Penelope‘s book! I mean there‘s Colin, too, but Penelope! Just delightfully romantic and funny, and appropriately steamy when it needed to be. A perfect weekend binge read.

Happy birthday to me!!

I am rushed off my feet today teaching and getting to some social plans but I obviously made a bit of time to read on the train.

After a very busy workweek I‘m finally under a heap of covers in my huge pyjamas with the next Bridgerton novel. This is the only one not available through my library and I‘m being very strict on my book buying ban so I made myself wait for my birthday celebration ‘exception day‘ to get it. So now I‘m proud of myself for waiting AND in desperate need of relaxing in bed with some glorious escapism.

I love that with each addition to the Bridgerton series, Julia Quinn manages to keep things fresh. Particularly impressive considering how formulaic the genre can sometimes be. Don't get me wrong, I find comfort in a happily ever after, but it's also nice to have some unexpected turns along the way. While the unveiling of Lady Whistledown will not be a surprise for anyone who's seen the show, I so enjoyed seeing Penelope get her happy ending ❤️
