Black Cat is a poetry book that is great for Choral reading because of the repetitive language found throughout the book written by Christopher Myers. Myers‘ illustrations for the book won the Coretta Scott King Award. The poetry picture book exposes students to different landscapes that the cat can go to. It has beautiful rhythm and culture.

I hear it's #loveyourpetday, and though I have two black cats to love, I particularly wanted to show off this magnificent creature. He's been under the weather this week and maybe it's morbid, but it just makes me remember to appreciate his companionship that much more. He is a good, good friend. #ColeCat #catsoflitsy
