With so many jaw-dropping moments and unexpected twists, King will keep you enthralled for the whole story.

The Murder of Roger Ackroyd | Agatha Christie

Christie is so good making the unexpected come to life! I thought I had it all figured out around 35% in… those red herrings.

There are little eggs hidden all throughout her book if you are perceptive enough to catch them. However, it wasn't until about the final 10 pages that I started really cluing in to who murdered Roger Ackroyd.

With many twists and turns in this story it will keep you on your toes the whole story.

This charming story will grab you by the heartstrings and pull you right in. Trying to find where you fit in to life after it changes, and it shows how important it is to find that partner who loves you for you and brings you up and raises your confidence.

With typical CoHo style, the twist will leave you jaw dropped and in shock. This book made me laugh, made me choke up, made me feel all amounts of emotions.

Just Like Mother started with a bang: my jaw was left agape, wondering how much someone would be affected by the living conditions that the children survived, and acknowledging that this actually happens in real life!

This novel is described as a "suspenseful modern gothic debut," and she definitely lives up to that expectation.

This can be read as a standalone, but I did feel like I missed what lead up to their relationships. Regardless, this was a very cute love story following four couples; four short stories interconnected. I enjoyed that this book could be read in four parts and it didn't bounce around. It gave four different aspects to curveballs life can throw at you, so it wasn't repetitive. I'm looking forward to reading from the start of the series.

As a multiple POV, this story is full of drama: enemies to lovers, hurdles during marriage, navigating a friendship after a major conflict, on the spot learning to parent and building bridges with the family's black sheep.

This is the perfect holiday story to set the mood. It's full of warm, cozy, winter feels mixed with creating new family traditions. The character development is wonderful and relatable to many!

This story really grows its characters into becoming strong women and breaking the 'house wife' stigma.

Understanding this book was set back in the 1990's, I'm glad that it showed those stereotypes in a way that demonstrates how terrible and demeaning they are, while still throwing a fun twist on it as these women go outside their comfort zones to protect their families and their community.

For a debut novel, it was a powerful one! This story of a cult is so scary but so realistic that you could see it being true.

One twist after another, this story describes how difficult it would be to transition back into the world after many years in a cult, not knowing any different. How does one find their way through life when the only thing they know how to do is survive in the wild?

Patterson is a masterful writer who throws blindside after blindside and doesn't let up. Although the story itself was very disturbing - please note trigger warnings before reading - it kept me enthralled trying to solve this mystery.

I also enjoyed that it didn't actually end on a happy note, as that's not true to all real life stories. Some you win and some you lose.

The Paper Palace is not for the faint of heart. This book tackles so many hard topics: infidelity, abuse, rape, death, trauma, signs of PTSD... but if you're looking for an emotional, heartbreaking read, I promise you will find that in this story.

What started out light, treading slowly creating ripples leading into waves, leads to a punch halfway through. This brought about so much emotion and anger and swelters into a bittersweet numbness.

Our Crooked Hearts sucked you in deep from the start. With a grander story about magic and not the nice side of it, you get to learn the twisted tail of the cons of magic.

This story drips with spells and oozes with blood and recipes for disaster. The only criticism for the audio would be that Dana's side was a bit quiet so had to manage the volume a lot while driving. But I love the eerie feeling this whole book created.

Agatha Christie was quoted: I had written this book because it was so difficult to do that the idea had fascinated me. Then people had to die without it becoming ridiculous or the murderer being obvious. I wrote the book after a tremendous amount of planning, and I was pleased with what I had of it. It was clear, straightforward, baffling, and yet had an epilogue in order to explain it.

True to her word, this is an absolute gem!

This story had a whimsical, fairy tale feel to it, but with a strong female character who trusts herself to know right from wrong.

It shows the hardness behind human judgement and what some may do to cover what they did wrong out of fear. It‘s an intertwining story between reality and Russian folk lore - the winter demon versus a higher being. It‘s a magical ride!

A crazy ride: it's scary to think how someone can utilize today's technology to infiltrate and submerse themselves into your life so easily. How, when living in a larger city, some people can cease to exist when hidden amongst others. Kepnes was so good at balancing the dark side of Joe with the unlikable actions of Beck; the logic behind Joe's actions mixed with the lies told by Beck.

I wanted so much more for this story. This is very dark twist on a Beauty and the Beast erotica: a young woman and the King controls dead bodies. This story had so much potential; it even covered dark topics. The dark erotica masked the good. It felt too much a case of Stockholm syndrome, but it could also be argued as brainwashed by society. Either way it was a little disturbing. But did have a strong female character.
Beware trigger warnings.
