"In the aftermath of Headmaster Boddy's murder, Blackbrook Academy has been thrown into complete disarray. Half of the student body hasn't bothered to return to campus-but those who have include Orchid, Vaughn, Scarlett, Peacock, Plum, and Mustard, now warily referred to by the other students as the Murder Crew. When another staff member is found dead and an anonymous threat begins to target the group, each of the teen's opportunistic reasons for sticking around come to light"--

Nope. Nope. Nope. Can‘t read Heuvelt‘s Echo after dark. I tried and ended up gasping and disturbed my whole household. I‘m hoping this one is as campy and delightful as the first in the series because I need something lighter for evening reading and I‘m not in the mood for a romance novel.

Hestapleton Best blurb for Echo!! I had to sleep with lights on after finishing the tagged. 2y
DGRachel @Hestapleton I don‘t know why I agreed to read the digital ARC. The end of Hex creeped me out so much that I still have issues using black thread in quilt projects!!! 2y
Hestapleton @DGRachel I‘ve been really surprised by how much that book lingered with me. I wasn‘t expecting to be so spooked. 2y

I really enjoyed this book, as much as the first one. The further development of the characters is believable and interesting (how did I miss that they‘re all juniors? I thought they were seniors, I guess) and I need to know more! I have a suspicion about what really happened to Rusty and I NEED to find out more. But there‘s no word on a third book yet?

“He actually threatened to kill her in public once.”
Vaughn‘s fingers slipped on the strings. “He‘d kill her in public?”
“No, he threatened in public,” she clarified.

I see what you did there. 😉 Now I really need to watch the movie.

I did not like this one - the first book In the Hall with the Knife was fun and unique - In the Study with the Wrench felt like the same story rather than a continuation of a series, do not see myself reading any more in this series (if there are any). I did finish 6 hours in my personal 12 hour #readathon for Saturday and Sunday. And I did finish 1 book for #BFC21 for my 6 book goal for month of January @wanderinglynn.

I'm really enjoying this series! Book 2 amps up the tension and the new shifts in loyalty, and brings all the surviving students, now known as the Murder Crew, back together to solve another murder. Also, the romances began to heat up!

Ya'll, I have a lot of posting to do today for #Scarathlon2020, so I apologize if I flood your feed. Work was good yesterday and my friends and I won the costume contest (we were Rock, Paper, Scissors... I'm sure you can guess what I was!). And I got lots of reading done!

Low stress readathon? I'm all in! #ReadYourWay Readathon @TheSpineView

My goals:
* Read tagged book, and make time for my pile of graphic novels.
* Read 4 to 5 hours per day
* Finish a book/graphic novel a day (at least)

The last two goals don't apply to the 24th. Months ago I rented a cool, witchy house for October book club. I had hoped Covid-19 would be gone by then (Ha! How naïve!), but thankfully we can test and then hang out.

TheSpineView Great goals!🤩 4y

6th book read for the #OutstandingOctober #Readathon @Andrew65

I liked this book so much more than the first one. The author really grew into her writing and the story was so much more original. The bit with the life coach cracked me up. I loved the surprise ending. I am very attached to these characters now.

Andrew65 Sounds a great read. Ouch! 🤯 4y
Charityann I just bought this and am waiting for it to arrive!😁 4y
