I finished my telephone box and put it with my ‘set in the UK‘ books

This was spectacular on audio imo and I was totally blindsided ( also someone tell what the hell the ending meant)

Stupid stickers ( still in pyjamas at 4 pm but my bathrooms are clean )

I read about this somewhere, got it from the library and read it at night before sleeping when The Light Pirate stressed me out too much. A light romance ( the male character‘s inability to remember condoms I think was meant to be scatterbrained but after reading Ejaculate Responsibly it just feels tone deaf)

Thankfully I‘m not finishing this during a snow-storm

Independent Book Store Day means a short drive to St Mary‘s to my favourite wee shop to buy myself some essentials 🤣🤣🤣 here‘s hoping Camp Litsy chooses Julie Chan to read and if we don‘t I will go back and buy the others #independentbookstoreday #booklover

This is just such a haunting story of how the end of times could/will happen. It‘s beautiful and got so fraught at one point I couldn‘t read it before bed because my dreams were stressing me awake. A perfect book to read in April for Earth Day which we should honour on all of our days 🌎

#5joysfriday why do short weeks sometimes feel longer? I‘ve worked 2 weeks straight in grade 1 and I‘m exhausted 🥱 random joys 1. I voted early 2. Puppy visit with Griz 3. The magnolia is having a MOMENT 4. My niece and I having matching manicures 5. My oldest left last night to work at a YMCA camp in Alberta for 6 weeks. An exciting and a bit nerve wracking new challenge for him. I‘m full of joy for him taking risks

I‘m always surprised to see what‘s included on the lists

MM is a romance writer & was looking forward to going to a Romance book festival in the US but the US is kind of unpredictable right now so MM decided to cancel her trip. I felt bad for her and so many other artists who are having to make such hard choices. So I bought a book
It‘s lovely. Not too spicy. It‘s well written, good dialogue, the main characters are interesting. I‘m surprised she hasn‘t got an editor but maybe everyone doesn‘t want one?

This book is important. It‘s also A LOT. It goes way back in time to how we gathered and why ( we love a unifying narrative) and all the ways those narratives have caused us harm or to do harm. We are the smartest and dumbest of creatures. It all leads up to the creation of AI and the good and bad it can and will bring. We need to create self correcting strategies. We need to fund education. We need to start yesterday.

This is my first time making suggestions for Camp Litsy #camplitsy25 I‘ve included 2 Canadian Lit suggestions ‘Lake Burntshore‘ and ‘Julie Chan is Dead‘ 🇨🇦 ‘Second Chance Convenience Store‘ was a best selling novel in South Korea in 2021 and that had me thinking about Butter ( which was odd but I‘m really glad I read it ) and I love a translated novel. ‘Welcome to Murder Week‘ is just a vibe 🤣🤣 I can‘t wait for camp

To celebrate Indie month aka April I thought I‘d try an Indie author who‘s Canadian too. It‘s a romance and I saw on the socials she was going to go to a big Rom Lit festival in the US but has had to change her mind because of all the uncertainty with crossing the border. So many people are having their lives turned upside down 😢 so far so good with the story

Friday night: a new book from @AmyG to read together, fresh tulips that my husband brought home, a gin&tonic made by husband, salt & vinegar chips ( best kind) and I think the snow has finally gone for good

Building away. YNH is talking about how computer algorithms can go awry and referencing Facebook's involvement in spreading lies and misinformation against the Rohingya people. I read about this in Maria Ressa's How to Stand up to a Dictator. What's awful is even when people called out the lies and called on FB to stop the algorithms, the damage was done. CBC spoke this week about how easy and cheap it is to buy groups on FB with followers 😢

It‘s a lovely but odd story. There were times when I was captivated but others when I was just “wrap this up” and yet it went on. The ending was lovely

a weak link in the series imo but a reprieve from wars basically setting the stage for the next conflict with too much use of the word ‘mate‘ but it didn‘t hate it 🤣

I loved The Reading List. I‘d read every book on the list (and loved them) except A Suitable Boy which I bought to read afterwards. It‘s an amazing feat of storytelling

This is a long book and jam packed with information that I‘m really enjoying and now I‘m questioning everything I know. For instance witchcraft was started to steal men‘s‘ penises so obviously men had to hunt witches down. 🤣🤣 (or that was what men ‘thought‘ witches were up to) Started a new Lego set, a gift with purchase, of a small floral arrangement and tackled the ironing mountain

I finished my Love Lego and it‘s going on shelves with love/relationship books. I need to do a complete book shelves reorganization but that‘s going to be a week long project probably happening in the summer

#5joysfriday 1. I did a collage art project with 3 grade 1 classes and covered the artist-tree with birds on Monday 2. I got my nails done in pastels ( abstract Easter eggs) 3. My favourite clothing store shares my views on Spring weather 4. I went out on a Friday night 🤯 to see the funnest band ever and everyone I know was there 🤣 I danced for hours ( they play covers of hits from the 70‘s through to the 00‘s ) 5. The sun shone today ☀️

Reading outside today 🎉 this is my second book by this author she‘s an automatic buy for me from now on ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ another perfect multi generational story of friendship and love and community and total delight

A day off #praisebe listening to this gem of a book while I did errands all morning around town and finished it off with the V in Lego. This book is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and should be read by everybody. I learned a lot, I understand so much more and I am hopping mad at the shaft women get over and over. We have drunk the koolaid and it‘s time to spit it out

I love this fantasy world

Set in 1920‘s London, involving the murder of a Chinese man that was beneath the police to investigate. Two very different Chinese men combine forces to investigate the murder and find themselves looking for a serial killer. Absolutely needs to be made into a BBC tv series

My take away so far ( last 1/4 of ACOWAR) Feyre chooses to be kind over and over again despite warnings and common sense. The world needs this kind of energy. All of us live here and all of us belong. If your actions keep someone down then you aren‘t living your best life. #teamfeyre #girlpower #choosekind
