Impulse shopping at Book Outlet got me, I didn‘t realize this was YA. The full family responsibility on the 18 yr old, casual sex hook ups because feelings are too much work and putting up with toxic sibling behaviour is not engaging me

I loved this book and the quiet Wednesday to finish it, spent waiting for my dishwasher repair person ( easy, not expensive fix) and the no show repair person for our non-working landline which I want to get rid of but my husband is continuing to be ridiculous about parting with things, but I got this lovely day so I won‘t part with him. Yet. 😉
Y‘all can keep your pumpkin spice fall vibes, I want summer
And now Brideshead is reminding me of Gabriële and #europacollective and honestly who else but Littens would even understand my joy
Just heard “dressed like Anthony Andrews in “Bridsehead Revisited” “I‘m not sure I could kill anyone carrying around a teddy bear” ❤️❤️❤️ I love it when my reads intersect #hashtagbrigade
All done and time to reconfigure my family room bookshelves
My dishwasher is being difficult. My husband has the patience of a saint when it comes to troubleshooting solutions with Google 😇 we got it working but then I woke up to dirty dishes and F11 again. So I‘ve spent 5 hours cleaning and listening to this waiting for a call back about service ( they can come Wednesday morning) and I‘m now addicted to this author
Sunday night happy hour. The weather was so good today it feels like it‘s still summer vacation ( and I think the whole week will be good) #sundayhappyreadinghour
I was sobbing by the end but what a great story
Look what came @TheBookHippie 🍁🍁🍁 I love it so much! I swear I saw a little maple leaf like this recently on social media and thought “oooo I need one” Maple is going to hang out here for a bit and then go sit with my Canada Lit books when I reorganize my book shelves
#FridayHappyReadingHour Happy Friday night reading to all who celebrate, me and my gin and tonic are going to suffer through reading all these books on my kindle 😆😆😆
#tlt #threelistthursday this might be my movie genre 😆 some of them I couldn‘t remember seeing but I thought I had ( The Croft) but I left them off. Sweet Home Alabama I have seen a bazillion times ❤️❤️❤️ Mystic Pizza - my first Julia Roberts film ❤️❤️❤️ Moonstruck I would watch 100 million times plus all the witch films and everything ever set in autumn starring Meg Ryan. Maybe tonight is movie night
Look at me go #readyourkindle I am reading 4 books on this contraption right now, it‘s killing me! I should be on a European adventure instead of just reading for buddy reads and book clubs 😂😂
My husband read this in Uni in a pop culture class where every week they read a book and watched a movie that connected together. I finally got around to reading it thx to #literarycrew What. A. Ride!
Cousin Jasper and words to live by
Only 2 bags left of Sherlock and then I have to rework my bookshelves
Tea break to get ready for #hashtagbrigade and tackle chores
The Lego streetscape got set up today, we put up some of the shelves yesterday. I knew exactly where I wanted this extended shelf and what I was putting on it, now the tricky part with the other shelves and where to put them and what on them. The bookshop that is part of this is on a bookshelf with books about bookshops and libraries. As one does
#weekendreads an audio: The Crow Trap for fun, the rest are buddy reads; Fearless #sundaybuddyread Assassins #littenslovesjm Brideshead #hashtagbrigade Ragtime #literarycrew
Finally getting my #sundaybuddyread on again and I went back to work today so wine
#tlt #threelistthursday my three are ones I‘d like to read; Jamaican Inn is my MIL‘s favourite Du Maurier and I‘m intrigued, I need more Anne Brontë in my life, maybe we can #hashtagbrigade it ?? and I‘m curious about A Separate Peace ( my score is meh)
A new journal brings so much promise imo ❤️❤️ forever grateful to @TheBookHippie for posting the journaling prompts that give a a starting point for writing instead of it always being rage writing 😡😆 I‘m off to write about apples 🍎 🍏
I love everything we read together #hashtagbrigade but this one frustrated me immensely and the ending certainly lived up to that 😂😂
A mysterious death, a lot of miscommunication, a revenge plot, double (triple?) crossings, remorse and words to live by: a happy wife means a happy life
Back when 🇨🇦 was in the midst of an election a bunch of yahoo trolls me that if I would just read this book then I would KNOW ‘things‘ and UNDERSTAND MC and vote properly. Jokes on them because I understood the assignment! In a nutshell, to build a better world for all we need to value values. What are Canadian values? Kindness, generosity, peacekeeping, honesty, hard working, education, health care.
Home again and I don‘t want to move again in the forseeable future
#5joysfriday it‘s been a week 1. We packed up Gunnar, our oldest for Teachers College 2. Lakehead U in Thunder Bay, his grandpa‘s hometown and alma matter 3. T Bay has a big Finnish/Swedish population so breakfast at a Finnish restaurant was a must 4. Visiting John‘s nanny and grandpa‘s grave 5. Memorial for Terry Fox where his Marathon of Hope ended with heartbreak ❤️🩹
Tired and cranky so Skip the dishes is bringing dinner to the hotel room
#wdncw we don‘t care that it is 2 pm, we are flying to Thunder Bay ( to take oldest to teachers college) and we paid good money for this wee bottle of white wine with our Air Canada ticket price 😉 ( John was aghast at the day drinking 😂 and we don‘t care about that either) #littenslovesjm
#showandtelltuesday I‘ve been painting the basement, the rec room? It‘s where the boys used to play video games, the exercise equipment is and the Lego sets are going to be displayed. Might be the future home to my yoga practice 🤷🏻♀️
Painting is almost done and I‘m putting things back together- laughing out loud at my self as I‘ve forgotten how knobs work on cupboard doors 🤦🏻♀️
Impulse buy at the beginning of summer ( look at me reading it before it‘s sat for 3+ years on the Death Tower?! )
I went by title and 🇨🇦 author alone. I‘m not 100% thrilled so far (page17) but I think I just need to get into it a bit more 🤞🏻and grab some chips
Once upon a time I went to Paris on my honeymoon and went to the Louvre & Orsay, then 3 years later we went again on a self funded leave from school with a 2 yr old and then again in 2015 with a 16 yr old and an almost 13yr old. This time we made it to Beaubourg. This book is a reward for all my painting. I think I might do a chapter a day with it if anyone wants to join. My painting isn‘t done yet - maybe September 1 start? #europaeditions
Painting continues; I‘m priming built in shelves and cupboards, window trim, chair rail etc ….. and book #4. This book is because some internet troll during Canada‘s election told me I‘m a moron and I need to wake up and read MC‘s book. So I am and little does the troll know, Mark Carney had me with the fact he‘d written a book which is a lot more than I can say about Pee Pee
A physical book on my TBR officially read! I loved this on audio ❤️ ages ago I read the article Ann Mah wrote for the NYT and anxiously awaited the publication of her book. Then it languished on the Death Tower. I had a big love for Jackie Kennedy and I may understand her Onassis era more now
#5joysfriday this week has flown by 😢 1. Last weekend we were at my in laws‘ cottage which is a double edged sword, it‘s beautiful, they are a handful but floating in the lake is my favourite 2. Stopping at Webers for hamburgers is a summer tradition to or from the cottage 3. A fresh manicure always brings joy, it‘s hard to believe I bit my nails for decades 4. Audio books while painting = joy 5. Today is John‘s birthday; he‘s mostly a joy 😉
The rain is done, basement walls and ceiling painted so a little reading and floating time
I couldn‘t wait #littenslovesjm despite this being a reread I only vaguely remember the witches 🤷🏻♀️ Manon and Abraxos are my favourites. I‘m getting the next one from the library ( which I‘ve apparently also read but my brain is like a sieve with these books so I will be reading it again for the first time )
How to tell I‘m painting? I‘m blowing through the audio books 😆 I ran out of time with this and had to wait for my hold to come back around. I love Rick Steves! If more people travelled and exposed themselves to other cultures we‘d be better.
I‘ve had this in print on my bookshelves FOREVER, thanks to the anxiety my Death Tower is giving me I gave my self permission to listen to this instead. I am so glad I did, Tom Hanks reading this was wonderful
This wasn‘t what I thought it was about, I went in blind and I loved it
#wdncw we do not care that we have more unread books than we can read in a year ( or more) lying around in unmanageable piles and piled haphazardly on shelves. It Is Not Hoarding! We are mood readers and we need to be prepared. Forever. And Ever. Thus spoke the god of books.
A kindle sale b/c ‘bookworm‘
It‘s set in Montreal & it‘s so dark and crazy
Victoria has controlling parents, in laws and spouse. She‘s unhappy and spends every moment she can reading 🤔 when she‘s not reading, she‘s spinning narratives in her brain about the people she comes across in her day and at work. She is likeable some of the time. Her narratives get darker and darker and the story gets wilder and wilder. Lots of good book references
I‘m holding onto summer with both hands, drinking on a Monday night, the heat broke (25° C with no humidity) so I‘ve got a meatloaf in the oven ? and I‘m enjoying this #littensloveromance set in the Hollywood Hills
I have secured the #sundaybuddyread for September #itsamiracle
One year ago I tagged @CBee saying I would read this off my kindle AND I LIED! But here I am, reading it! A book off my kindle. For no real reason. Except every month I say I will. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ all around for my commitment 🤣🤣🤣 this is a bit weird so far #readyourkindle
#camplitsy “everything burns” summer is officially over when the last Camp Litsy read is done 😭😭 this is really not my usual genre but holy smokes ( see what I did there?) is it good! It took me three days to read the first half and now that I‘m immune to violence and bad choices, one afternoon to inhale the rest 🎶 fire‘s burning, fire‘s burning, draw nearer, draw nearer…..🎶
I whipped through this ❤️ CF writes a perfect summer read imo and I love that they are set in 🇨🇦 this one is on PEI and I loved reliving my trip there and my love of Anne Shirley. Maybe I want to move now
