Wow. This was a fascinating, very readable nonfiction book about Russia‘s last tsar and his family. I knew very little about the years surrounding the Russian Revolution prior to reading this book, so I really learned a lot. All the names are here - Nicholas, Alexandra, Rasputin, Lenin, “The Bolsheviks”, “The Soviets” and more. Now I have a basic understanding of the stories behind those names. ⬇️

julieclair I also now have a deep sense of sadness for the history of the Russian people. Thank you, @Cuilin , for choosing the Russian Revolution as our February theme for #BookedInTime. #ThemesMotifs&Tropes - Russian Revolution, Grand House (2 points) #TBRTarot @CBee (edited) 2mo
Cuilin #BookedInTime #RussianRevolution ✔️ 🎉I‘m glad you liked this prompt. And you just reminded me to post my own book review for this month. 2mo
julieclair @Cuilin I look forward to reading your review! 2mo

CBee Very sad history indeed 😕 2mo
julieclair Thank, @dabbe ! That list is so helpful. 😀 2mo
sblbooks I read this a few years back when we did #yaApril. I think this is what you would call narrative nonfiction. It's so good. 1mo
julieclair @sblbooks Yes! Narrative nonfiction is exactly right! It‘s a genre I don‘t read often, but should. 1mo

Texreader Awesome! 3y
Cinfhen Woohoo!!! Awesomeness 🙌🏻I recently read Rebel Daughter as the author is from my little neighborhood in Israel 3y
sblbooks @Cinfhen that's cool, that the author is from your neighborhood. I can't wait to see your review. 3y
Cinfhen Lori was kind enough to gift me an ARC ~ it was a really good read about a specific time in history that is not often written about. The historical content was really impressive! It was obvious that Lori spent years researching her material. I hope you enjoy the book 😊 3y
Allylu Good for you! 😊📚🌸 3y

1. I do. I like to challenge myself. My problem in the past is trying to do too many challenges at one time.
2. I like to try everything at least once and I think I've loved them all. Some of my favorites have been #bookspin #YAapril #24b4Monday #fairytalereadingchallenge #readacrossamerica #scarathlon and monthly photo prompt challenges

The Memory of Light | Francisco X. Stork

This was incredible. This was an audio read so I really don't know the spelling of names, but I loved how Vickie grew from her suicide attempt to discover new friends, a way to stand up to her father, and that she IS a strong person. Her Mom was right - she is the strongest. Stork made everything realistic - the loneliness, the depression, the treatment. A hard book that ended very positively. #YAApril @sblbooks @megnews

Finished 2 of my planned books for this week. In & out of others. Almost done with my #YAApril holdover. Very close to done with my March #bookspin. 😂 Started one of my May #MonthOfMemoirs picks and a school textbook. And got sucked into the pictorial history of Cleveland I had on my Overdrive tbr for awhile.

#BookReport

Cinfhen Such awesome graphics 💕💕💕lots of good picks 4y

April was a good reading month.
My #bookspin #doublespin and #triplespin selections also satisfies #YAApril and #mounttbr

I bailed on one book and read a few 'new to me' books from netgalley and a giveaway.

#readinglittlewomen is still in progress. #marchrecap #marchwrapup @TheAromaofBooks @megnews @sblbooks Thanks all for having me along on your April reading adventures!

TheAromaofBooks Yay! Love seeing those challenges get stacked!! 4y
