I found a four-leaf clover pressed in an old book at an estate sale today 😃😊 🍀 ☘️

Pickpick

Clay‘s desperate search for a job leads him to a night shift for a mysterious bookshop. When he discovers the regulars are part of a secret organization, it‘s time for him to do some mystery solving.

Delightful! I was fascinated by the intersection of old knowledge w/ technology, I loved the affection for San Francisco as a setting & the humor was spot on. The characters did feel a little flat & I wanted more of the relationships.🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

BarbaraJean AND, if you haven't already made this discovery... the cover glows in the dark!! 7mo

BookmarkTavern @BarbaraJean I realized that a couple nights ago when I was reading it before bed, put it down and turned the lights out and thought “what is this weird light?” 🤣🤣 7mo
BarbaraJean @BookmarkTavern 😂😂 That is exactly the way I discovered the glowiness! 7mo
dabbe #stacked! 🤩 7mo
zezeki I've read it earlier this year, and loved it, such a fun book! 7mo
BC_Dittemore Ohhh… I read that a few years ago. Very good. Thanks for reminding me of a book I need to re-read. 😅 7mo
OutsmartYourShelf Brilliant! 7mo
TheAromaofBooks I really enjoyed this one!!! I also liked another of Sloan's books - it's that same sort of borderline between real/not real. Kind of like sci-fi realism 😂 7mo

1. Bookoutlet
2. Pinterest
3. YouTube

I am so boring.

dabbe I don't think so. I forget about Pinterest, and I LOVE it! I watch YouTube videos all the time. And I need to try Bookoutlet. Do you read books online, or do you love having them in your hand. I “think“ I know the answer, but I'm not 100% sure. 🤩 Thanks for sharing! 💜🖤🧡 1y
TheLudicReader @dabbe …you don‘t use Bookoutlet? 😳 shook and horror! I 100% buy the books. (edited) 1y
dabbe Here's where we (surprisingly) differ! #shockandhorrorindeed 😱 I thought you only liked the physical books! 🤩 I prefer the physical book, but I'm cheap enough to read it online if I can read it for free. 😃 That said, before I go to Amazon, I will now go to Bookoutlet, thanks to your rec. 💜🖤🧡 1y
TheLudicReader @dabbe I do only like physical books. BookOutlet is for physical books. Which I buy...too many to ever read. 1y
dabbe @TheLudicReader Let's get physical, physical ... I wanna get physical ... now I'll have that in my head all day! 🤩 1y

Hey my #SpookyGhostClub! I don‘t want to bombard you with too many posts and tags, so if you‘re on the lookout for more events happening this October, bingo boards to play, or Scarathlon posters… check out the link to the Google drive folder where we‘ve been saving everything. Feel free to add to it too, if you see we‘re missing anything! Happy haunting, my lovelies!

dabbe Thanks for the idea, too! 🧡🎃🧡 2y
AmandaBlaze Thank you! #Scarathlon is a favorite time of year for me, and I got a little over-excited with all the posts the other day. lol (edited) 2y

Another fun day to be a recruiter at Google! *insert sarcastic look here* - Today started with an ominous note and a last minute meeting added to our calendars, at which time we were informed that there would be a "significant reduction" to the recruiting org globally. We then had to wait a few hours to see if we got an email layoff notification. I did NOT lose my job today, but my motivation is gone and now I'm just looking for an escape hatch ?

TheBookgeekFrau Congratulations?? Condolences?? 😬 I'm hoping you have to good book to lose yourself in after this crappy sounding day 📖💕 2y
ravenlee Good luck in…whatever comes next? I hope something settles in for you. 2y
marleed Oh dang. I‘m so glad you retained your position, but I feel bad you are put through so much stress. 2y

Bailedbailed

I hate bailing on any book but 80 some pages in I just lost all interest in reading this anymore. It‘s not a bad book and if your into tech and weird stuff this book is for you, just not for me. I guess I‘m just not as nerdy as I thought 🤣🤣

Mostly Pick. It lost me a few times in the confusion of the many characters and some of the tech/coding. Amusing, fascinating premise.

Crazeedi Yes it was a bit confusing at times , I read a couple years ago 2y

Diving back into this world on a self-care Friday off of work. Maintenance has been hammering aggressively on the other side of my wall. 'Twas overstimulating and dysregulating, so Starbucks it is. 📚 🍵

Mehso-so

I finished this listen on the treadmill today. I enjoyed it for the most part but found the plot lacking in action/drama and also found the resolution extremely anticlimactic. It was a little disappointing in the end, but the characters were disappointed too, so maybe that was the point. I loved the quirky characters and the concept: what does it mean to be immortal? And the convergence of books and technology in the information era.
