I was so excited for this month's #foodandlit2024 because I love Korean food. We went to our favorite Korean BBQ and stuffed ourselves.

I also started the tagged book today.

Pickpick

Another soft pick for me:
The main character goes back to her hometown in New Zealand after her husband's death only to get involved in a missing person's case. I highly enjoyed the setting but I do admit that some parts were a little slow for me. However, trying to figure out who the bad guy was kept me hooked.

Pickpick

I highly enjoyed the growing friendship between Abena and Faiza. Abena came from a rich family while Faiza was a Kaya girl from the country. A kayayoo (kaya) is a person (usually a young girl) who carries heavy objects on their head. They are usually seen as low class.

It was a good read.

I'm almost done with the tagged book but after hearing so much about kelewele while reading, I figured that I would try making this Ghanaian food. Kelewele is fried spicy plantain. This was tasty; however, I would like to try it from an actual Ghanaian restaurant.

Okay this took far too long to put together -- both planning the books and experimenting with a different photo grid maker. But I'm finally ready to begin my 2024 reading.
