I mostly enjoyed this, but, if the sheriff of Tracy‘s hometown had just told her what was going on, nothing would‘ve played out the way it did. But then we‘d have no story, so I guess his secrecy was a necessary plot point. #audiowalk

I really dislike Tracy‘s captain. They had a bad relationship from when Tracy went to the police academy. He was an instructor and groped her; she broke his nose. Completely appropriate reaction on her part, in my opinion. I think I know where the plot is headed; we‘ll see. #audiowalk

robinb Good for her!!! 💪💪💪 1w
KathyWheeler @robinb Yep. If I remember correctly, he was teaching self-defense or something like that, so it was doubly appropriate. 1w

I‘d started this book when I was on Dauphin Island one day. Since I finished Sense and Sensibility, I decided to continue it on my #audiowalk. It‘s getting a little warm down here; I guess spring is leaving us soon. 😞

For some reason, Hoopla never works on Dauphin Island, so I listened to My Sister‘s Grave, which was already downloaded in Audible. I‘ve only read one Robert Dugoni book before, a novella about the main character in this book. I liked it, and this one is starting out interesting. #audiowalk

KathyWheeler @Jari-chan Thanks. 😊 There‘s a bird sanctuary on the island, and I never see birds there, but there was this turtle. (edited) 3w

I have had the first three books in this series on my kindle for awhile. I finally read this first book it was good. Tracy Chrosswhite is a good protagonist. In this book the body of her sister is found 20 years after she went missing. Because of the circumstantial evidence presented at the first trial, she thinks the wrong man went to jail. The second half of the book becomes a courtroom drama. I had fun reading it and the ending was surprising.

TheBee I took this book home from a vacation rental and left one of mine. It‘s been on my shelf ever since. Now I‘m curious to read it! 😀 10mo
paper.reveries Nice blending of those two photos! We don't read many procedurals, maybe time to add one to the TBR for the summer 🙂 10mo
MyNamesParadise I read this years ago and have books 2-4 of the series but never read the rest of the series. I should get back to it! 10mo

First time reading this author and will not be my last. This is the first in a series featuring the character Tracy Crosswhite a detective with the Seattle police department. I just happened to stumble upon the first book and glad I did. If you like legal thrillers I definitely recommend! Kind of like a John Grisham of the West Coast!

My current book haul at the free lending library‘s in town. This this will keep me busy for a bit 😁 Currently reading My Sisters Grave…any suggestions on what to read next?

#bookhaul #lendinglibrary #weekendreads

atl_scfl Let me know how the Harlan Coban book is! I read Tell No One by him, which was really good, but haven't had a chance to read any more. One day, we need to plan a free library road trip around town and find books 😆😆 3y
Bec_lectic @atl_scfl that‘s sounds like a plan.. the rich neighborhoods are the best! I‘m reading My Sisters Grave which is pretty good and may read the Coban book next. 3y
KaylaCReviews Ugh, I loved My Sister's Grave. So many emotions. I haven't read the other books in that pic, so I can't say which would follow My Sister's Grave well, but I would have happily followed it with Red Dragon by Thomas Harris. 3y
Bec_lectic @KaylaCReviews thanks for the suggestion! I‘ll add it to my list. I definitely enjoyed My Sisters Grave. 3y

Devoured in 2 evenings. That is my rating. This was another very successful Amazon prime free pick. Tracy's little sister disappeared. Is she ever going to find out the truth? Why are those who should be on her side fighting her every step of the way? No down time while reading this, it kept me locked in.

Overall Rating 4⭐ | Narration 😁 = Very Good

The narration was quite good and the MC is likable, the story did get a little tedious at times and sometimes it was difficult to keep track of what timeline the story was in. But overall, not a bad start to a series. This whole series has 7 books and counting for me to sink my teeth into. I‘m intrigued enough by this first book to continue the series.

I don't know where the last month went. The last time I posted we were having a snowstorm with a power outage. Today I sat out on the porch in the sun. It was a lovely 60 degrees. The daffodils are blooming. Spring is just around the corner. I'll do my best to check in more often...geeze! How's everyone doing? ❤️🌼

Texreader It was a lovely day! Glad you got to enjoy it! 3y
julesG Definitely ready for spring. We've had a few cold days with hurricane like winds and thunderstorms lately. Longing for warmer days to go reading outside. 3y

Loved this book! I love detective novels (I have also nearly finished the Women‘s Murder Club books by James Patterson), and this was excellently written. I would give it 4/5 stars (only docking a star for slight predictability). I read these 410 pages with ease, and can‘t wait to read the rest of the books in this series.

I signed up to take a writing course with this gent and thought I should read some of his work before then! This book makes it obvious why he is the cornerstone of Thomas and Mercer. Great characters and pacing ,settings that come to life and a classic murder case come together to make one hell of a book. There will be more Dugoni in my future.
