This was a brilliant, original read. 5 stars all the way. For my full #bookreview, please click here: https://www.kaylacreviews.com/2021/10/winterset-hollow-by-jonathan-edward.html

#7 in my Halloween Review Spree, Petrichor was a tear-jerking #YA #darkfantasy read. I highly recommend it if you enjoy stories targeted at younger generations. Be warned, though, there are a lot of heavy themes. For my full #bookrevew, please click here: https://www.kaylacreviews.com/2021/10/petrichor-by-melanie-rees.html.

Death by the River | Alexandrea Weis, Lucas Astor

This #YA #thriller was a great cautionary tale. There was a lot about it that I enjoyed, like the character development and the descriptions, but there were also some parts that simply felt off. All in all, I do recommend it, but mind the trigger warning.

Chrissyreadit I really enjoyed your review of the book- I‘m surprised the book isn‘t getting more buzz, it sounds prescient and creepy. I‘m on the fence of I can read it or it would disturb me. 2y
KaylaCReviews @Chrissyreadit Thank you for reading my review and commenting! I'm sorry it's taken so long for me to reply. I'm glad you enjoyed my review. It surprised me, too, that this book hasn't gotten more attention, though it's in the process of being revised to kick off a series. The disturbing scenes were graphic for a YA book, but I didn't think they were over the top. I prepared myself for worse. Still, I'd proceed with caution. 2y
Chrissyreadit Ok I will add it to my tbr- that has hundreds of books on it so if it is meant to be I will read it ☺️ 2y
KaylaCReviews @Chrissyreadit 😂 Understood: That's the approach I've taken with my own tbr list. 2y

Legacy had a lot going for it, but I wish the pacing had been better. It didn't really keep me on the edge of my seat. All the same, the atmosphere was creepy and Coppel raised some interesting questions.

My third review for my Halloween Review Spree. I did enjoy certain aspects of this book, but I expected more supernatural #horror than was provided. I gave it four stars because of its redeeming qualities but almost gave it three. Still, Liane Carter is a wonderful writer. The characters were deep and the plots were unique.

Here's my second post for my Halloween Review Spree! Liner was an eerie read, but it struck me more as a mystery/romance than actual horror. Wanted more scares but was happy with the great character development.

This was a decent #YA #thriller. Lots of #suspense. I felt the story could have been tightened up more and that it had untapped potential, but I still recommend it to fans of the genre. To read my full review, please click the link:
