Earls Trip | 
pick⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️This book was just good to read.
It is light and happy, all the characters are immensely likeable, and there is so much emotional introspection from all five of the "main" people, it's just enjoyable.
There is also a focus on male friendship and found family that is rarely shown, and of true family loving each other while fundamentally, though not purposely, misunderstanding each other.
If you need a fun, happy break, I recommend this!
pickFinished this a while ago with the #littensloveromance group. I enjoyed it immensely. Very character-driven, which I don't mind, but I was waiting for the other shoe to drop and something to happen to ruin their idyllic holiday, which never really did. Solid found family vibes, looking forward to the next Earl's story when it comes out next May.

so-soRead this regency romcom for book club and it was cute! I really liked the strong characterization in the beginning, and the plot was fun and silly, but other than that it didn‘t do a whole lot for me. Some language/perspectives seemed a bit too modern for the time period, and it got a little too meta with the tropes in places (like one character saying out loud “we‘re like a found family!”) I could be persuaded to read the next book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Archie is going on a two week vacation with his two best friends when instead they must make a detour to rescue his two childhood friends, Clementine and Olive, from elopement and ruination. Rather than miss the rest of the vacation, Archie asks Clem and Olive to join them.
It's a fun read if you enjoy regency romances that aren't too focused on the rules of proper society. I thought the chapter titles were all very fun.
1. I often struggle with feeling like I have a purpose, which can fuel my depression. I think I feel the most purposeful when I help people or animals.
2. My husband, my pets, my niece, my art, books, and Litsy of course!

pick#LittensLoveRomance Ch.17-end/review: Sorry my vacation took over my time this week-I dropped the meme-ball. Overall I enjoyed this book although after the excitement of the beginning it tapered off and didn‘t really pick up again. I was expecting a high energy climax but was a bit disappointed. I did enjoy the romance and the flourishing of the relationships. I do think I‘ll read Effie‘s book - I‘m intrigued enough to keep going. ⬇️

A bit of a slow romance, not too much action, it was a lot more conversational.
so-soI enjoyed the modern twists and silly moments. I wished there were more moments with the boys; they were a fun group. What I disliked was all the talking. I felt there was more talking than doing in this book, which bored me after chapter 3. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.16: Clem feels they could continue their relations after Earls Trip once she returns to the country, but Archie says no and makes it seem as though he regrets what happened a bit - at least Clem interprets his reaction as such. And they talk about him marrying someday and Clem hates that idea. Oy. These two. They‘re so in ❤️ but they won‘t let themselves imagine a future where they‘re together and married and happy about it
#LittensLoveRomance Ch.13,14,15: Sorry I‘m MIA: we‘re on family vacation and it‘s been so busy! So:yay for Clem for going for & getting what she wants, and good for Archie for being a really decent guy. But come on, he‘s going to want to marry her. He won‘t be able to let her go again. He‘s already dreading the end of the trip and more so I think b/c of Clem. Will they both just be honest with each other or will there be a major misunderstanding?
pickI had to skip ahead on the read-along. I won‘t spoil for those who are still reading. I love all the “Earls”on the trip. If only there were more men like them back then in power positions. I enjoyed how the author introduced topics/lifestyles that are normalized now and how that would translate into their era. All in all, it was a very enjoyable story and I didn‘t mind the slow burn once I got into the book. Plus Clem and Archie were precious.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.12: well of course that didn‘t necessarily go well. What was Arch thinking? That Clem would see an animal die and turn to him with stars in her eyes “now I understand!” Noooope. But at least he apologized and all‘s well between them. In fact, they‘re closer than ever. Was not expecting Clem to proposition him but hey - why not? A girl‘s gotta do what a girl‘s gotta do.
#LittensLoveRomance Ch.11: although I will try to take Archie‘s feelings into account, and I can admit that hunting as an activity seems important to his mental wellbeing- I can‘t get behind it. And I doubt Clem will be able to either. If they‘re to be together, they‘ll just have to deal with it - which may be easier said than done. Poor Olive. I bet her lost love was that poor boy who died in Canada. Sad. But who is Effie‘s?
Archie‘s reply and commentary spoke to me, especially with my 16 month old daughter and how she‘s my ballast against the current storm that has affected us. Keep us in your thoughts, and if you pray, say one for us.
#LittensLoveRomance Ch.10: Haha this chapter was giggle inducing😆 - as someone who reads a lot of “typical” historical romance, this was a very irregular scene and I loved it! So what do we think? Are we shipping Olive and Effie? But who is the mysterious person Effie is corresponding with? I‘m excited to learn more.
#LittensLoveRomance Ch.9: Clem tells Archie her secrets in the dark. I was surprised that she was so truthful but good for her - and good for him for not reacting poorly. And now we know - more so than we already did - that Bull is the worst! But how much longer can their idyllic existence last - the trip is going by quickly, but also I feel as though something big is bound to happen soon. It has to, right?
#LittensLoveRomance Ch.8: another quiet conversation filled chapter, but I kind of loved it. Seeing Clem and Olive come to an understanding and knowledge of each other, and seeing Archie‘s feelings for Clem grow even as he isn‘t sure of them, was very sweet. I like how the author puts a lot of emphasis on how people are affected by each other and how they are affected by their environment.
#LittensLoveRomance Ch.7: Archie is starting to regret his edict to the girls that they stay away. But they seem to be enjoying their sister bonding time so they keep refusing to join the men for dinner! I enjoyed the bonding time between several of the characters in this chapter - Archie with Effie and Archie with Simon and Archie with Clem - this seems like a nice relaxing trip now that Bull is out of the way. So when is 💩going to hit the fan?
#LittensLoveRomance Ch.6: being a vegetarian back in the 1800s would have been so difficult! There weren‘t a whole lot of food options like we have today. If Clem and Arch get together how will she put up with his penchant for hunting? Archie btw is being so silly - refusing to go to town with everyone and sulking and being rather grumpy. I think he feels guilty for ghosting Clem and he feels a bit confused as to his real feelings for her.
#LittensLoveRomance Ch.5: Sisters. I have 3 of them. There isn‘t another relationship quite like it - it can be wonderful and maddening-and that shows here with Clem and Olive. I feel for Clem - she must be so confused by Olive‘s seemingly selfless actions. But what were Olive‘s true motives? Will she admit them to Clem or keep her secrets? And when will Archie admit that his feelings towards Clem have never been quite brotherly.
#LittensLoveRomance Ch.4: another great chapter! I love that Effie was in charge of accommodations and it turns out to be a castle in ruins with a very risqué topiary. What will the staff think of their little group I wonder? And please - don‘t tell me Clem is pregnant. Please let it just be a hangover from all that ale or something. Otherwise- what a messier mess! Arch is going to have to get even more involved before alls said and done I think.
#LittensLoveRomance Ch.3: Well. That‘s one way to be reunited with your childhood friend. What a mess! And how will they get away from Theo without him ruining the family‘s reputation? There‘s more to the story I think as to why Olive went with him. Perhaps she didn‘t deliberately try to hurt her sister. Perhaps she was trying to protect her. We‘ll see what‘s what!

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.2: Archie gets an urgent letter from an old family friend whose daughter Olive has run off to get married(major scandal!) Not only that but Olive‘s sister, Clementine, who was originally engaged to the man in question, has gone after them. Archie knows he has to help, even if it puts his trip on the back burner. His friends- like the awesome pair they are -jump in to help him. Looks like they won‘t get much R&R for a while.
#LittensLoveRomance Already I love our three bros - Archie, Simon and Effie. Three breaths of fresh air. Men with very real personalities, flaws and strengths. I love their friendship so far. I already feel for all of them, especially Archie. It sounds like his mom has Alzheimer‘s- such a difficult disease. I‘m really interested to see what happens.
