One last post from the fantastic weekend that was C2E2. I was fortunate enough to catch Dustin Nguyen at his table where I picked up this awesome sketch of Batman…because Batman. And then I was able to snag the Korean edition of the tagged comic, one of my favs, which I can‘t read now but perhaps someday in the future…regardless, it offers me another opportunity to stare at Nguyen‘s gorgeous art.

Captivating, imaginative, empathetic. I love the art style, feels like a water colour wash on line drawings, yet somehow more vibrant and detailed. I love the bot characters we've met and the unfolding mystery in book one, already put book two on hold at the library!

The little robot TIM-21 has stolen my heart. I‘m looking forward to the next volume in this graphic novel science fiction adventure series.

[Does this remind you of another story about an android companion? My mind leapt immediately to Klara.]

Tim-21 is such a great character! This sci-fi graphic novel has both an excellent story and astounding artwork.

The ongoing war between robots and humans has caused tension and all of the answers to end the war are thought to be hidden inside a companion robot named Tim-21.

Jeff Lemire is such a great writer and I have found myself wrapped up once again in a world of his making.

It's raining and hot outside today so I think I'll stay inside and read these beauties I purchased on our recent trip to Austin.

I've been reading Jeff Lemire for years, but I'm so happy to see people finally picking up his work more, thanks to Netflix turning Sweet Tooth into a series I'm sure. Lemire is such a genius though and his comics/graphic novels never disappoint.

This was actually a reread for me and I am so glad I gave it a second read. Dr. Quon bugged me in my first reading. And, he still did. But, I saw beyond it this time. I love the idea of the story and a robotic dog is almost as great as a real one. I am looking forward to the rest of the volumes! The art is great, too!

One last piece of very cool book/comics news—Descender and Ascender are coming to tv!

Day 1

This was a great introduction! Good world building, beautiful artwork, and characters that are interesting and that I want to learn more about. Very glad that I already have the second Cole checked out from the library. I will definitely be recommending this to anyone who enjoys scifi

New Year. New favorite graphic novel series.

I just finished all volumes of the series and oh man was it amazing! The story captivated me from the start but most of all it was the art, it‘s water color style and it‘s so pleasing to the eye. I am excited to see where the story goes in 2019. If you interested in robots vs humans living in space this is the one you need to read!

Yet another masterpiece by Jeff Lemire. This story follows Tim-21, an android companion boy, in the aftermath of a galactic robot genocide.(gigantic celestial robots wiped out the majority of sentient life on multiple planets) Now being an android is a crime against humanity, and cause for immediate termination. But what really is humanity? How can Tim-21 fit in this world? And what part will he play in the robot revolution? Read and see.😊

Loving this series!!! I‘ve read two volumes so far and if school work wasn‘t in the way, I‘d finish the rest today!

Uhh, wow. Lots going on and very little to say about it because no spoilers!!! Suffice it to say, the conflict between robots and humans rages in all its complexities. Excellent story, excellent artwork and I‘m just glad there is more.

I kind of liked the beginning, then really enjoyed the end. And the art is really gorgeous. I'm pretty sure it's largely done with water colors, and it was very effective. It was interesting to juxtapose the dreamy illustrations with the strong science fiction themes. I'm interested to read more!

Reminds me quite a bit of Neuvel‘s Sleeping Giants which is why I couldn‘t give it five stars. I love the characters and the artwork. I will definitely be continuing on with the series, just hoping that it becomes more original as it goes on. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was really excited to start this series, I'd heard a lot of good things about it & maybe my expectations were too high going in but it felt a lil bit flat to me. I like the whole concept of the series & it's got some really good characters. The cliffhanger at the end was 👌🏼 but I wasn't wowed. It didn't make me want to rush off & pick up Vol.2. I'll probably pick up Vol.2 to see how the story continues & to see if I'm just more than piqued.

Reading now.
