pickCaveat: I am NOT a literary snob.
Okay, I am a tincy-wincy bit of a literary snob. But Dan Brown is a hill I'm willing to die on. Yes, this is utter tosh at the final analysis. And yes, Brown's writing style can be screamingly irritating at times.
But oh boy, is this ever a fun read! You kinda know what you're gonna get, but I devoured this in 2 or 3 breathless gulps & knew for an instance pure entertainment. Utter tosh still, but whatever!

6 days out of 7, I eat healthily. Then, on the 7th, I treat myself to a dirty takeaway, full of fat & MSG, and I try to feel guilty, but I can't because it tasted SO good. This is similar to how I feel about ditching Literature (with a big L) and having me a little Dan Brown time. Sorry, not sorry.

 so-so
so-soI occasionally enjoy a good conspiracy theory and a mystery that mixes art, science, and religion seems like it should be a surefire hit. But I'd forgotten that I find DB's writing kind of annoying. This one was repetitive and choppy, yet still entertaining. But my biggest compliant was with our hero, Robert. For a scholar/ professor who has made a career out of learning and deciphering the meanings of symbols and ancient languages, he was

More sepia than brown, but at least the author's last name is Brown 😂

I need to give this series a reread. It's been too long.

 bailed
bailedNot a fan. I'm about 20% in and have lost interest. The villain is a tiresome mustache twirler. This seems like a pale copy of The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons which I loved. On to something else! It's an obnoxiously cold day in Minnesota. Perfect for coffee and books!

August 7 #ArtfulAugust Conspiracy one of my great series read. Yep all a Conspiracy. @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

 pick
pickI am so glad that I read it. Again, Dan Brown delivers a thought provoking story in his unique style. I know others really dislike Brown's style of writing saying that it follows a formula of the ultra dramatic and the never ending cliff hanger chapters, but I just don't tire of that at all. A great thrilling read. I can't wait to read the next Dan Brown book!

 pick
pickI like this series. This has been made Into a TV series, which I have not watched. It's a mystery with a thriller feel. The last couple of chapters were a little drab and could have not been included as far as I am concerned.

🎥 I've watched a few episodes of this book adaptation - moderately creepy, intense, adventurous and enjoyable 🎬

 pick
pickThe Langdon books are so good. Twists and turns everywhere! Dan Brown is amazing at what he does and I love authors that write in a way that my brain creates the visuals as I read.
 pick
pickThis was my first novel and i have to say this is what made me want to read more novels. The book transports you into a different plane where you are constantly thinking about the possibilities of what could happen in the next chapter. This book is one of the best thriller novels one could read.

Four days done of #FabulousFebruary. 13 hours read and two books finished but getting closer on a couple of others. Plus finished a bookazine.
@Andrew65

I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description or reason for wanting to read the book. Some are old and some will be new. Don't judge me - I have a lot of books.

 pick
pickI thought I didn‘t remember much of this book, but once I got going, it all started coming back to me. The book is so good, and part of that is this time around Langdon is fighting for friends, people he actually has relationships with and knew before the events of the book. That might make this book the best one in the series (although, admittedly, I haven‘t read Origin yet).

“Time is a river” reminds me of DaVinci‘s Demons. Still, I think this quote is so true.
🤘🏻
What books do you think match this description?

🤣😂🤣
Every book in this series has at least one moment that just makes you laugh. This was great. Admittedly, Robert got further than I would have. There is no way I‘d be up in that catwalk around the dome of the National capital.

Yes, this is a work of fiction, but this is still historical fact! In fact, most modern conservative Christians wouldn‘t recognise the founding fathers as Christians at all.

This book was written 11 years ago, but this is so fitting for our current climate in America. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

SACRILEGE!!! Who walks through a library and doesn‘t touch any books?!

Anyone want to be my book pal.??

I haven't posted in awhile and I don't know why I can't fit the whole picture in so I'm sorry.. My current read, and I'm looking forward to scroll thru litsy to see all the wonderful books everyone is enjoying..

Now this is something to get excited about 😁..Though Tom Hanks will not be there, I am still really hyped up about this 😎

 pick
pickThis is another book that has been sitting on my #TBR for far too long. I have a student who has been encouraging me to finish reading the Robert Langdon books, and he is not wrong. This is another solid book. I enjoy having to think to try and solve the riddles while I read. I will go on to the next one now that I have more time to read (it‘s summer!)

pickI loved this Robert Langdon book more than the other simply because I have been to D.C. and knew some of the locations they were talking about!
