Day 5 of #litsysummercamp - take a bookish hike! I love listening to mysteries and murders while being surrounded by trees. Which… adds to the fear factor. Tagged a favorite YA mystery novel. Photo from last week‘s camping trip where I did get a lot of mysteries read. @ImperfectCJ

I listened to the audio and this was good. Quite a different perspective on a serial killer novel. In addition to the murder mystery aspect of the book, Jazz was dealing with doubts about himself, and not knowing/worrying if/that he might turn out like his dad. I did find it a bit unbelievable that the cop would go to Jazz with details of the murders, but I guess he was hoping Jazz could help. I really liked this; I will continue the series.

It isn‘t that I disliked this book at all. It has just become so challenging for me to focus on reading and to find something that I don‘t want to put down. Not to mention my eyes are killing me. Anyway- I just didn‘t care enough to keep going with this story. I am sure that if it were a different time, I would be more invested.

It‘s rainy, I‘m exhausted, and I cannot be made to work. This creepy, murder-y #newyearwhodis pick from @FantasyChick is so good and I‘m honestly surprised I haven‘t read it before! This type of book was almost exclusively what I read in high school.

Such a terrific book! Son of a serial killer is obsessed with proving that a few murders in his small town are connected and then with hunting down the serial killer responsible in order to prove that he is not like Dear Old Dad. His best friend and girlfriend are wonderful sidekicks. 1st in a series. Can‘t wait to get my hands on second book!

There were definitely parts I didn't like about this (namely the sociopath cliches, the "things that would never actually happen in a police station" stuff, and how Jazz's girlfriend was nothing beyond the blindly supportive girlfriend role. I have no clue how they got together or why) but it was entertaining enough for me to finish and want to read the next one, so ?‍♀️ I like serial killers, so sue me lol

This book was exciting and fast-paced. Barry Lyga is one of my favourite authors.

This is a YA thriller that only partly reads like a YA book. I love the idea and the audiobook is fantastic! I actually found this book by accident on Scribd but I'm thrilled I came across it. I'll be downloading the rest of the series for sure.

#callingbirds make me think of tattletales. Which makes me think Snitches get Stitches. (I love with a CO). That leads me to think of Jasper Dent in I Hunt Killers. He was the son of a serial killer. And is determined not to. Come one him self. To do so he must help the local authorities realize that a new serial killer exists in their mist. #12daysofchristmas.

An interesting look at the life of a guy who grew up under the tutelage of his notorious serial killer father. Jasper Dent is worried that he may be destined to live his father‘s life so he‘s constantly trying to prove to himself and others that he‘s normal. When a copycat killer shows up in his town, it provides the perfect opportunity to show he can hunt killers rather than become one.
