Finished tonight, this was my other ebook on hold for #AuthorAMonth #December #NoraRoberts & when the hold came I started reading a few pages & then got hooked & had finish. I am a fan of thrillers about religious zealots & serial killers & here we have a good combo. It‘s a bit long & as most romances, a bit too buttoned down & predictable, but it kept me turning the pages. Apropos of not much😉this sushi I enjoyed with it last night was ono.😋

Kelley Armstrong never disappoints. Love that this one was set in Ontario. A page turner that I could not put down! Gibson and Castillo were great together and this book kept the tension high about who the "real bad guy" was.

Violet strained, searching for the sensation through the suffocating blackness. It wasn‘t the kind of thing she could see or hear, making it all the more difficult to pinpoint.

This is the 20th book in a series that started as modern Agatha Christie type mysteries (motive and plot driven with great characters) but has morphed over the last few books into thrillers. Fortunately, I love both and really enjoyed it. I admit though as a Canadian it also terrified me, as it cut too close to possible realities given the horrible rhetoric towards our country by the current American president. Hopefully this stays fiction. 4.5/5

My husband and I went to see the movie last night, and it was a great adaptation! Really close to the book minus some slight changes to the end to make it a bit more cinematic. Surprisingly funny in moments too. My husband had no clue what to expect but he enjoyed it and said he would return if there‘s a sequel! The last thriller book to movie adaptation he saw was Gone Girl and he didn‘t think this was as good, but still held its own!

I liked this one. I thought it was different and intriguing. I really liked Sally as a character. This book is definitely more of a heavy read, but I still enjoyed the story and character development. I was very disappointed by the ending that completely ruined any character development that happened throughout the book. 4/5

For my 2026 #BookSpinBingo, here are my personal rules to fit my life!

- #BookSpin & #DoubleSpin are priorities.
- The #BookSpin book is replaced by my book club's monthly pick. Original book in that spot moves to #25.
- NetGalley reviews go in #24 & can swap with any spot. No NetGalley means #24 becomes a free choice that is fixed.
- #23 is a mood read. I can swap it with any other spot on the board, but I can only do this once per month.

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! Looks fantastic!! 1d
