What a wild ride! I almost shouted several times in surprise/frustration. The twists kept coming, and I swear this book had like 37 endings. Every time you think it‘s over, something else.

This was a wild story! A seemingly simple domestic thriller with a housemaid, a mysterious gardener, a rich housewife, her alluring husband, and a bratty daughter.
Despite the meat of the story not coming to light until the last third of the book, I needed to know where the story was heading and kept listening desperate for answers. I also really liked the audiobook narrator for Millie. I'm excited to see the movie in a few months!

The Heiress was a fairly quick and entertaining read, and I liked the way the audiobook was structured—told through alternating past and present timelines with different narrators. That made it easy to follow and kept things interesting. However, I found the story a bit predictable overall, aside from one surprise near the end. I also didn‘t find the female characters particularly likable, which made it harder to connect with the story.

A chilling psychological thriller that delves into the events that unfolded when three 12-year-old girls ventured out to an abandoned rail yard in the dead of night. Tragically, one was found alone and severely injured, while her friends were nowhere to be found. The story unfolds through alternating perspectives, including diary entries and police reports.

Did I ever hate this. I was yelling at Elin for how dumb she was continually. How did she get to be a detective? Too many not well done troupes. A lot of meh characters that probably could have been combined. The cliffhanger at the end almost helped. I listened to the end out of spite. Too many suspects. I just hated this.
Not Ms. Brown's best book, and halfway in I was thinking this will be a three stars, but the last quarter of the book got me so invested I bumped it up to four stars. I'm not sure why it took me so long to really get into it. It just wasn't as compelling as her work usually is I guess.

Great end to the series. I loved the character Braden; even more after reading the authors notes. The only thing I would have changed is the HollisvsSamuel moment I thought would be more intense/scarier. I felt like it was very anti climatic. 90% of the book built up for this one moment and it wasn't nearly as shocking as I thought it would be. Otherwise I really did love the haven series and I would definitely read more of the bishop/SCU novels.
