A very slow reading month...hoping to pick it up and finish more in October.

Much more than I expected, in a good way. Delicious descriptions of food combined with the difficulties and loneliness of being an American living in France, gives this memoir depth.
OMG @DinoMom I feel so completely spoiled!!!! My picture doesn't do it justice, thank you for my trip to Paris 😍😍😍😍😍 The books are all wonderful (hello 1920s Parisian cocktails!), and the fascinator, magnet, cookies, chocolates (they didn't melt! Yay!), and more. I love everything. My heart feels so happy right now!
I hope you like your #staycationintime just as much as I love mine! Thank you thank you thank you Sharon!

Lunch in Paris was our September #IllSeeYouInParisBook . This memoir reads like a love story… a love story about food! Don't get me wrong, there's an actual love story in there too. 3 love stories actually; 1 with the French food, 1 with the French man, and 1 with the country. Although the latter might have been a love-hate relationship at least at times. Reading or listening to this book will make you want to rush (cont in comments)
September's book for the #IllSeeYouinParis challenge. A few days late, life has been crazy (good, but crazy!). I can't wait to delve into this one because...recipes! 😋 It'll probably be another week or so before I can start it but I am really looking forward to this one. Who all is joinig in this month? Happy reading!
I fell in love with the idea of being in love with food and Paris so much! 🥰
A lovely delicious romantic story about an American girl who found her French boy with the added bonus of amazing recipes.
August Book 16/20 #LitsyLove
One review says it‘s more than a love story, it‘s about the author learning and building a new life in Paris, after she fell in love with a Frenchman and the French cuisine. This light memoir comes with recipes, so it sounds really good, if you love food and 🇫🇷. The author‘s 2nd book, Picnic In Provence, follows her, her husband, and baby-on-the-way, to Provence where they ventured into artisanal ice cream business.

Interesting journey of starting life in France.
I only picked this up because I was going on a trip to Paris. I didn‘t care for it.
Another Book Outlet purchase and I‘ve yet to read...it sounds good. Falling in love in Paris, with recipes included. #HungryHeart #MarchIntoThe70s
Enjoyable, light memoir that considers what it means to adapt to a new culture. Elizabeth Bard falls in love with a Frenchman and moves with him to France; her encounters with food and cooking are effective symbols for her experiences with the culture as a whole. While I don't cook--so I must admit I skimmed the recipes!--Bard's relationship with her husband and her self-realization are interesting and thought-provoking.⠀
The day before Thanksgiving and all the lenders are off. I have finished everything I can do. So it will probably be an extended #bookandlunch time!
This move has really cut into my reading time & with a book this good, that‘s bad.
Our night out together for my birthday, which I've been so looking forward to, didn't go well as I'd hoped, so my sweet husband dropped me off at home for some solitary reading time in an attempt to recover it, while he picks up our son from the sitter across town. A keeper, that one.❤️
Doing the #FallIntoBooks challenge today, just because it looks fun 🤗 A mix of have-reads and TBR with #cursive covers! 🖋📗
Finished this one a couple weeks ago . This memoir made a good lunchtime read. An American woman moves to Paris to be with the man she loves. Adjusting to a new country and new husband makes a pleasant story. Yummy recipes end each chapter. This book suited my purpose but it is not full of angst or excitement and may not be to everyone's taste
I can relate to those last two lines. 😂 #freespirit #plannernerd
When the Author's Note let's you know there will be plenty of sarcasm and humor..
#judgedbyitscover #recentnon-fictionread #reallifereading. I couldn't resist buying this book when I saw this lovely cover. I've just started it and I'm already enchanted. There's a romance with Paris as the backdrop and recipes that look "attemptable"and tasty ?
#book+mealilove #17booklove catching up on my postings so I was forced to buy this book and eat a waffle. A marvellous whole wheat Belgian waffle slathered with whipped cream, chocolate and strawberries 🍓 and served with CREAM CHEESE syrup! What I won't do for Litsy 😊
This was real sweet, a love story told by someone who took a huge leap, making the decision to up and move her life to where her heart resides: France. It starts from the moment she meets her beloved, through all the culture shocks and adjustments and compromises it took to start anew.
Though I enjoyed this book overall, I couldn't help but compare it to her later memoir PICNIC IN PROVENCE, which is delightful and has better recipes IMO.
I love the way Elizabeth Bard talks about food 😍
This was a great, relaxing read. The recipes look good, too. Now that I'm finished, I have decided that I could never live in France. But it would be a great place to visit. Especially for lunch.
Finishing up this gem today. The picture is a little dark, because I'm still in my bed. Boxing Day is my favorite of all the holidays. The work is all done and I can just relax and read all day. My hubby comes in to refresh the tea. He's the best.
The problem with December is all the peopling that's required. I'm tired of peopling. I just want to sit here and read for awhile. Alone. Sigh.
Ahhh... Sunday. I need a way to get the tea to my room without having to get out of my warm bed.
I baked 80 cookies today, for various potlucks. Now it's time to curl up with a good book. And some cookies and tea.
This is how I cook! I am really, really loving this book. We are having a nasty cold snap. The windchill is below -30 everyday. But this book is warming my soul.
Picked up a new one. This is much better for for my current mood. It's relaxing to travel to Paris for awhile. And there are recipes! #currentreads
This is a lovely little story about an American in Paris who fell in love with the French and their cuisine. The book comes with all these recipes that sound so yummy. #septemberphotochallenge #somethingforsept books that #mademehungry
Had to show the adorable full jacket I just noticed for the 1st time! (Also, notice the price tag. RIP Borders 😢) Not only was this #booksthatmademehungry it also made me want to pick up and move to Paris! This is a double romance--about a woman falling in love with a man and the City of Lights. I wanted to explore all the best food markets and discover all the best little food shops with her! #somethingforsept #septphotochallenge
A fun read, that shows how food effects people's interactions in Paris!
