A little unfocused and rambling at times, but overall a fun adventure with the 13th Doctor. Some people don't like the current female Doctor, but I really enjoy the dynamic of her and her companions. 4 💥💥💥💥

CaitZ Ha - I just finished my S'mores Kodiak cup. I didn't enjoy Jodie's first season that much. The stories weren't that strong, but they're getting better and I like her more. I'll have to check out this graphic novel 4y

RamsFan1963 @CaitZ I think Jodie's Doctor is brilliant, but I don't feel she's been helped with the best writing. The first season was especially weak and unfocused, but it is getting better. I'm still not sure how I feel about the whole Timeless Child thing though. 4y

This feels like the Doctor vs every person on the Internet who decided that Doctor Who was “ruined” because she‘s played by Jodie Whittaker right now. And that keeps happening, with everything from Ghost Busters to Birds of Prey, so I was ready for some narrative push back.

Fun story. The Doctor has to undo the bigotry and racism that occurs after her previous visit on a planet with two warring races. Good story about how events can get twisted and used for power.

Definitely keeping up my Doctor Who fix. An easy, fun read, I loved this adventure with the thirteenth Doctor and her current companions. Looking forward to the next 2! Bit miffed we have to wait until 2020 for the next series though! 😱

I have 320 pages combined left of these 2 books and 2 days 4 hours left of 2018. I'm prepped with my wine to plough through the last 100 pages of the tagged book tonight, then tackle Perfume over 2 days. My will is strong...my kids the only distraction 🤣 #icandothis

I wasn't a fan of Jodie in Broadchurch, so I was not optimistic about her as a pick for the Doctor. But I have been converted. She's brilliant and has just the right energy for the part.

I haven't gotten too far into this book, but I feel like it's got the characters' voices down pretty well. Going to try to finish it up today.

Traci1 @miralunasbooknook it was really really good. I think it's one of the best I've read, and I've read most of the tie-ins from the 9th Doctor on. Would make an excellent episode. 5y

laurieluna @Traci1 ah brilliant! I've read some of the Capaldi tie-ins and enjoyed them, and I had a few of the old doctor who books land in my hands. I found those to be extremely dated though, especially where women are concerned. Sexist writing seems to stand out more when on a page. 5y
