Rogue Protocol
Rogue Protocol | Martha Wells
SciFis favorite crabby A.I. is again on a mission. The case against the too-big-to-fail GrayCris Corporation is floundering, and more importantly, authorities are beginning to ask more questions about where Dr. Mensah's SecUnit is. And Murderbot would rather those questions went away. For good. ___ Martha Wells' Rogue Protocol is the third in the Murderbot Diaries series, starring a human-like android who keeps getting sucked back into adventure after adventure, though it just wants to be left alone, away from humanity and small talk. Read Rogue Protocol and find out why Hugo Award winner Ann Leckie wrote, "I love Murderbot!" At the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.

While the third installment was a little different than the first two, I am still really enjoying it.
I definitely recommend this series for SciFi fans.

This third novella in the Murderbot Diaries series definitely had an Aliens vibe going for it— No, no exploding xenomorohs but rather Scott Ridley-esque scenes of cavernous spaces and tight tension.

Murderbot is headed to a terraforming site, looking for answers to questions that bounce around in their head, but finds more than they bargained for!

#Bk2 of the #24in48 #readathon is finished! I love MurderBot so much, this is No3 of 4 in the novella series & I was sad to think there were no more. But hope rings eternal or some such, apparently the author is now writing a full MurderBot novel!🥳 The SecUnit calling herself MurderBot is still on a mission to make the company pay that tried to kill her & her humans. But pretending to be a human is so tiring. Yet another @Liberty golden recce.

Bk3 in the Murderbot Diaries and this time Murderbot gets dragged into, you guessed it, more Human problems!! It just can‘t get away from them pesky humans. Murderbot meets another A.I only this one is very child like and gives Murderbot unsettling feelings. More info is discovered about what caused the events in BK1 and of course there is never time for those entertainment shows!

Man. I just love the Murderbot series! This one takes us on another zippy adventure with everyone‘s favorite misanthropic robot. The ending of this one felt sadly abrupt, like there was a bit of unfinished business. At the same time, I couldn‘t have seen it end any other way. How is it possible to get such feels about robots?!??

SW-T Because Murderbot, Art, and Miki are all wonderful in their own way 💕 7mo

#BookMail Pt4 I love MurderBot! I‘m a new convert so the thought of just 4 tiny novellas being all there is was devastating😫So it‘s fair to say I was thrilled to learn from @Liberty there will be a full novel soon!!🎉 To The unconverted,MurderBot is a sci-fi revolving around a SecUnit hybrid human/machinery who hacks their governing module after an “incident” of rogue behavior so it can watch tv instead of being bored.Snark ensues. #murderbotarmy

I‘ve been absolutely loving this series of novellas, about a rogue “Murderbot” that just wants to be left alone to watch its soap operas and figure itself out. This series has plenty of action and heart and I find myself regularly laughing out loud while reading it. Really excited to read book four.

⌚️Murderbot delves further on his hunt against Bid Bad Corp.
⌚️Narrative went thru fast-paced/slowed-paced waves.
⌚️Overall tone felt monotonous & too similar to previous vols, making it hard for me to stay focused; slightly stale.
⌚️Unique personas of individual AI in each new vol is so creative & my fave parts of series.
⌚️Emotional bittersweet finale I didn‘t see coming that helped round off the enjoyment for me.
⌚️Curious for finale!
⌚️3.75/5

Such a great installment, the more our Murderbot ventures out, investigates their past, the more interactions they have with other humans and bots. Yes the adventures and investigations are good, but I‘m finding myself much more intrigued and touched as she meets humans who are different, regard robots as different than she‘s used to, and discovers more variety of bot life forms and the ways they can express themselves.

Yaasss!!! My Murderbot Diaries book 3 hold came in!! I‘m so excited! Putting everything else on pause so I can read this!!

The Murderbot Diaries is a hard sci-fi series of books following a sentient AI robot named Murderbot, who‘s trying to learn more about its past while navigating being a free-thinker. If you like sci-fi books & haven‘t read this, you really should give it a try. It‘s one of my faves. The first book is All Systems Red.

I really like this series, a snarky artificial intelligent robot, who watches soap operas to learn human behaviours and is full of sarcasm and short on charm! Although distinct novellas these books are almost 'episodes' in one larger story and we connect back here, in book 3, with themes, players and context introduced in both book 1 and 2. The final 50 pages are a tense high stakes space chase, that is so vivid and thrilling because of it!

This series really nails a sweet spot of high stakes and comfy. I started the final book immediately after finishing this one and am already halfway through. Expect there'll be an omnibus edition before too long, but these standalone volumes are pretty spiffy.

You do pick up on a formula by this point (MB goes somewhere, corporate interests try to kill some folks, MB saves them) but this one's got some good drama keeping things lively.

Okay, so there's lots of SFnal action here--evil corporations and killer robots and whatnot--and I'm sure it's totally exciting, but I don't think it'll stay with me for long. The details of the first two novellas sure didn't.

What HAS stuck around, and what'll keep me eager for the last book, is Murderbot. Murderbot is GREAT. I don't even care what Murderbot DOES, just so long as we can keep on hanging out.

Yay, Murderbot!

I love Murderbot. In this installment Murderbot works to uncover what nefarious business GrayCris has been involved in. And we meet another bot, Micki, who's relationship with her person is very different from what Murderbot has seen so far.

Micki was fun, but I missed ART, from book 2. So far he's my favorite auxiliary character and I hope he comes back in book 4.

This was my least favorite installment of The Murderbot Diaries series. What I liked about the first two novellas in the series was the amount of humor and the fact that Murderbot was a wiseacre and a hoot to spend time with. There was less humor and overall wackiness in this installment. The story was more of a straight-ahead science fiction action adventure. I'm looking forward to the fourth and final book. Hopefully it will end on a high note.
