The Murders of Molly Southbourne
The Murders of Molly Southbourne | Tade Thompson
Every time she bleeds a murderous clone is born. Experience the horror of Tade Thompson's The Murders of Molly Southbourne. The rule is simple: dont bleed. For as long as Molly Southbourne can remember, shes been watching herself die. Whenever she bleeds, another molly is born, identical to her in every way and intent on her destruction. Molly's parents trained her well. She knows every way to kill herself, she knows how to butcher mollys for easy disposal, but she also knows that as long as she survives shell be hunted. No matter how well she follows the rules, eventually the mollys will find her. Can Molly find a way to stop the tide of blood, or will she meet her end at the hand of a girl who looks just like her? At the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.

This was a strange book. Every time Molly bleeds, a new molly grows as an exact duplicate, who then tries to kill her. She is raised in isolation and taught to murder her doppelgangers before they can. The story is told in such a detached way that makes it intriguing and a bit disturbing. Honestly not sure how I feel about it but I'm curious enough to seek out the next book so soft pick

Well that was a weird ride. Whenever Molly bleeds another molly is born and tries to kill her. Short, unique, and gruesome. The perfect Halloween read.

Such a fascinating concept. We all bleed, but what if that not where it ends? What if our blood produced something sinister?

This novella was so engaging and hard to put down.

I read 5 books this past week, but only three of them were ones included in my forecast so I‘m going to be less ambitious this week and just focus on these two books. The tagged one is for Feb‘s #bookspin. #weeklyforecast

#bookspin Joining very late, even if only informally. Here‘s list I had for my PIke‘s Peak TBR challenge + additional books to make 20. No. 12 is tagged book, which I have been wanting to read. And it‘s a novella so should be able to fit into Feb. @TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks Glad to have you join!! This is kind of a lawless challenge, so joining late works, too!! 😁 4y

Every time Molly bleeds, another molly grows from her blood and attempts to kill her. This novella is not for the faint at heart, and definitely do not read this before you go to sleep- it gave me the weirdest dreams. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

deirdrebeecher I respect his work, but he is a bit too horror for me. I follow him on Twitter tho, he gives great book recommendations. 4y

If you bleed, blot, burn and bleach.

This is the mantra Molly lives with day after day. If she doesn't follow it, she must kill herself. Every time Molly bleeds, there is a risk a new molly will be created. The mollys start off innocent, wanting simple things like comfort and companionship, but it is only a matter of time until they turn against her and anyone that gets in their way.

This macabre story will take hold of you and refuse to let go.

This was an interesting premise for a novella. It kept my attention because I had no idea where the story was going (in a good way). It was a good choice for a creepy read. #readathon #deweyoct

This novella was a free download from Tor. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Is it easy to describe? Not really but I‘ll try. Never bleed, that‘s the rule and if you do, it‘s kill or be killed. Every time Molly bleeds, a murderer is created...someone who looks just like her and is intent on killing her. How long can Molly live this way? How long does she want to live this way? Horror at its finest—a quick, creepy read which is best with the lights on.

This book could be subtitled Killer Klones from Outer Space. Except the clones probably aren‘t from outer space. Good stuff!

After being so impressed by Thompson‘s book Rosewater, I decided to immediately dive into this one next. This novella was fantastic, and I‘m officially a new fan of Thompson‘s writing. The story centers around Molly, a girl who creates a clone any time she bleeds. This is obviously...problematic. A quick, creepy read!

There‘s nothing quite like discovering a totally original book. “The Murders of Molly Southborne” is a novella about a girl with a...peculiar...problem-every time she bleeds, she creates a new doppelgänger. And these copies usually break bad. If the book‘s premise hooked me, the actual story had me desperate to know more. I finished the whole thing in one beachy afternoon and I already want to read it again.

An excellent horror novella about a girl with an unenviable problem: each time she bleeds, a doppelgänger is made. And those copies? Always turn bad. This is probably my favourite type of spec fic - a world that isn‘t ours, but could be. Scenes from the multiverse, vibrating on an adjacent string.

The Murders of Molly Southbourne by Tade Thompson is such an original horror story filled with life, death, and lots of blood. While reading, I felt very unsettled and anxious throughout; I loved it!
