✅ A cop out but Hogwarts would be pretty cool...
✅ Perfect sweater weather (sweatta weatha), a cool and crisp 62 degrees & sunny
✅ He took me to get a slice of pizza then wanted to go to his house to “watch a movie”. On a first date. Like.... 😒
✅ Nope & nope. I want a pet but my building doesn‘t allow. 😭
✅ Sending love to all on my follow list! 🤗

Re-reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is . . . amazing. I won't say that the book is perfect (Hermione's whole S.P.E.W. subplot is *not* my favorite), but it is just brilliant. (I'm not sure that spoilers are still necessary for any Harry Potter book, but just in case, there are spoilers ahead!) Shout out to my kiddo for setting the scene in the image. (continued in comments)

UnabridgedPod (Yes, it's a bit of a muddle of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts Legos, but I'll take it.)⠀ I think one of the most brilliant things about the novel is the way that Rowlling develops Cedric's characters. I was absolutely brokenhearted in a way I didn't expect when Cedric dies. It's because she has developed him *just* enough. He's not a major character, but Harry recognizes a basic decency in him ⬇️ 1w
UnabridgedPod that means Harry's desolation at his death is all th emore moving. He's devastated because he finally sees that Voldemort's insidiousness is in working against anything good and decent. Harry's relationship with Cedric isn't overly personal, but he takes very personally Voldemort's actions against decency, against what I'd call humanity even in this world about those who are supposed to be more than human. ⬇️ 1w
UnabridgedPod Cedric's death has an impact because Voldemort sees him as just one more object alongside all those he uses and kills. ⠀

As far as our re-watch of the film goes, I know I sound like a broken record, but the movie, while wonderful, just doesn't have the complexity or nuance of the novel. Alan Rickman's Severus Snape is *always* my favorite, and I think the actors in general are wonderful. ⬇️
1w
UnabridgedPod The compression of the main plot, while of course necessary for any kind of realistic runtime, becomes more problematic for me with each re-read. I was affected so much again, though, by Cedric's death, and I think Pattinson's performance hits all the right notes. 1w

taking a break from the current series i‘m reading to continue my Harry Potter re-read. Goblet of Fire was my favorite when i was a kid (and my favorite cover art as well✨) excited to experience it again. i remember staying up all night on a school night finishing this one. totally worth it lol

Bookjunkie57 GoF is still my favorite of the series. I just finished a reread and it still holds up for me. Hope it does for you too. 3w

There is something about these books that keeps pulling you back to re-read. I don‘t usually re-read a book or series but I gotta say this series never gets boring. Love them. Lots of stuff going on in this one & it really sets the stage for things to come in the order of the Phoenix. Picked up a copy last night at the library so I‘m ready to start my re-read of it as well.

Took a break from this behemoth of a book (after 28 pages) to finish a NetGalley read. Now I'm hoping to get back to this! It's so big, though, I'm afraid it will take me ages to read it.

Last one!

Sorry this months cover love was so long. It's because publishers dump a lot of new kids books out in Aug and Sept for teachers to snap up for the new school year.

This was been a long wait for book 4. It took two years. I hope they get back into the one a year schedule.

Out October.

#CoverLove #KidsEdition

laurenbescoby I would say it depends on how long it takes the illustrator to illustrate it. Goblet of fire is the same size and more of the first 3 books combined, so I wouldn't be surprised if it is a 2 year wait between from here on 2mo
IvoryLunatic They are so worth waiting for though. I love them and can‘t wait to share them with our future kids. 2mo
xxjenadanxx I know! I was so disappointed when it didn't come out last year because I get them for my niece for Christmas every year. Glad to be back on track now! 2mo
LibrarianRyan @laurenbescoby that I would understand. But if you look up the page counts for the IL ED it‘s not much of a difference. I expected there to be but there isn‘t. 2mo
PaperbackPirate I can‘t wait! It threw me off of my yearly reread schedule. 2mo

I finished the fourth book today! I always felt like this was the turning point in the series—after this book, the tone is much more serious and dark. I noticed that change a lot in this reread of the book, and I‘m looking forward to the rest of the series.

Hi everyone. Getting back into social media is proving difficult. Between technology problems while in PR and having too much to show/say in such a limited way, it‘s just felt easier to not try. All hail the mighty JK! I think she is the best writer I've ever read. If she wrote all the books published from now on, I wouldn't mind.
The Goblet of Fire - it is so action packed and there's a clear maturation happening setting us up for the later books. I still need to re-re-re-read 5,6&7 but this is my favourite so far, it's so good.

This is the illustrated edition for book 4. It has been delayed a WHILE. However, i have noticed it is only one edition. Goblet of Fire is such a long book, I thought this would come in two volumes. But just one. And not a major page difference from the previous illustrated edition. So i wonder if they skimped on the illustrations. Only time will tell..
