2nd Chance
2nd Chance | James Patterson
A brutal madman sprays bullets into a crowd of children leaving a San Francisco church. Miraculously-or was it intentionally?-only one person dies. Then an elderly black woman is hung. Police homicide inspector Lindsay Boxer senses a connection and together with medical examiner Claire, assistant D. A. Jill, and Chronicle reporter Cindy, finds a link that sends a chill through the entire nation. This killer's motives are unspeakable. Book #3.
I didn't mind this second book of the series, hoping it stays strong as I read through them

I am really loving this series. I especially like the female characters in these books. I‘ll be back for more.

I really enjoyed this fast paced read. I forgot to take a pic of the book before I returned it to the library though, so I thought I‘d post a pic of kitty. #catsoflitsy

Starting this one today. #2 in the #series. It has been awhile since I read the first. I think I remember enough though. My library only had the large print available without having it sent from another branch. 🤷🏻‍♀️

2nd in this series, which is the only James Patterson I‘ve stuck with. It‘s up to 17 now but the last two have been a bit iffy!

Andrew65 Would agree, and seems to have gone away a bit from the Murder club concept. 1y
TrishB @andrew65 exactly! It was the character interaction that made the series. 1y
Andrew65 @TrishB And that is exactly what they have lost as in the main they have focused on two characters independently. 1y

Mdargusch I can‘t read his books anymore but they were fun back in the day. 1y
emilyhaldi I've never read James Patterson but i believe my dad has a bunch around the house 😄 1y
Reviewsbylola I am so bad at series. And yes, our dad loves JP. I read one of his copies of a JP book years ago. 1y

I enjoyed this, and I like the Women‘s Murder Club series so far. I gave it a so-so, just because I didn‘t feel like there were any hugely shocking revelations in it, but I like the characters and liked the story, and I‘ll continue to read the series :) first book of 2018 finished!

Happy New Year Littens! A perfect start to my New Year‘s Day morning. Home made bread toasted with great strawberry jam and a perfectly picked birthday present in the form of a Sherlock Holmes cup :) I‘m loving this book! It‘s been a while since I read the first, and I totally didn‘t realise it was 15 years old!

I read this series until book 7 or 8, then I just stopped.

#Novemberbythenumbers @JoeStalksBeck @Tiffy_Reads

Maike Could they be read as standalones? For some weird reason I own book 15 but have read none of the others 😂 2y
DebbieGrillo @Maike They could be. Each murder mystery is different, like an episode of criminal minds. If you read from the beginning you understand the character development of the detectives a whole lot better. 2y

I liked this book better then the first in this series. I had to laugh out loud when one of the characters was using search engines to find info. And she used Jeeves and then Google. This would make a good beach read/ rainy day at the cottage book. A quick read that is fast paced.

Yay! Saturday book delivery 😁 I'm currently reading The Humans so will carry on with the Women's Murder Club after that. I'm a bit nervous about reading When Breath Becomes Air, as I know it'll be very emotional, but it's a must read!
