After getting an ugly migraine and getting into bed only a few hours after arriving across the country at my folks house, I got up to make myself something to eat now that I can finally stomach it. I opened the cabinet in my mom's kitchen to see an array of cake mixes displayed and ready to go. None vegan but that's ok. Just seeing this made me nostalgic. Sigh. Today I made this #vegan caramelized onion & cauliflower casserole from Isa Chandra Moskowitz's new cookbook, Superfun Times Vegan Holiday Cookbook. This cookbook is well worth every penny I paid for it. 🙌
First person to check this new book out of the library and I feel fresh as fuck ?? am obsessed with this cookbook so far. All the vegan festivity foodz but also a lot of basic recipes to work with too (like black bean zucchini "crab" cakes that use mayo, so she includes a whole recipe on how to make vegan mayo. Bless) so yh love this book. Haven't felt up to social media lately but I'm back. So deal with it. ??

Made 3 more dishes from this amazing new #vegan cookbook...tonight I made Isa's marinated potatoes with fresh dill, her southern biscuits & a very delicious sweet potato soup with ginger & vanilla (plus a touch of lime ??). I also made some delicious vegan "cheddar" "bacon" & chive mashed potato waffles (topped with vegan sour cream), but the recipe for that one is MINE, Isa doesn't get to take credit for that bit of deliciousness! ??
My thanks to both @Eyelit and @DebinHawaii as both recommended this new cookbook recently. There are lots of recipes I want to try. I've already made the Raspberry Buche de Noel. It's super sweet but really yummy.
So the first thing I'm trying from Isa's (cause we're such good friends we're on a first name basis, natch) new cookbook is a cookie recipe... candy cane chocolate cookies... hurry up and cool so I can gobble you up! (They are also going with me to work tomorrow for a thing). 😃
Having a bad asthma (probably morphing into bronchitis) day so I mostly have napped when I could and vegged when I couldn't sleep. Very little reading & Litsy time. 😞 I did make this Cream of Porcini Mushroom Soup since I had the ingredients & had started prepping yesterday. It is rich & flavorful & vegan-getting the creaminess from cashew cream. My first recipe from this book & I know it won't be my last. #cookbooks #soupersundays
Snowy day today, we are supposed to get 7 to 11 inches of snow by midnight. As a result, I spent the entire day indoors with the dogs, and I spent part of the day cooking a few more recipes from Isa Chandra Moskowitz's new vegan cookbook. I made biscuits & white pepper gravy, plus spiced cranberry oatmeal cookies. They were all SO GOOD! 😍😋
I want this book in hardcover so bad, but I've already ran through my book money and then some. I did pick up the Kindle version today on Amazon for $4.99. Score!

Since according to UPS, it has been on trucks for delivery, then rescheduled twice at their whim for the past few days, I do hope it enjoyed riding around the island! 🙄 But finally it is here, let the recipe tabbing begin. The left 3 are can't-resist-sale #blameitonlitsy e-books, the cookbook was a self-gift w/ a 30% off Barnes & Noble online coupon & the kids books are a part of a hostess gift for a wreath-making party I am going to next weekend. The couple has a 2-year-old who loves books so I got her these + 2 holiday books. 📚❤️
On a rainy weekend, I had to get out of the house so I did what any sane person with an apartment filled with unread books would do- go book shopping! In my defense, the neighborhood shop was having a 20% off sale! And I think I did pretty well for myself. And I am loving the tote. Along with too many books lie too many tote bags like this. But look at it! It's so good!!!
