And catching up from yesterday- a cook book special #fortheloveoffonts #readjanuary.

These are all stunning books - but I can count the recipes I've actually made from them on one hand 😑

tpixie Yes I keep telling myself that every weekend I need to pick one recipe from one of my cook books! 7y
rockpools @tpixie That's a really nice idea. I'd probably need to make that once a month (realistic!) but maybe I should try it. 7y
tpixie Once a month is more realistic!! 7y

rockpools @tpixie Right then! I'm declaring the first weekend of the month a cook book Saturday and I've put a note on the calendar. Let's see if it works 😉 7y
GlitteryOtters @RachelO @tpixie FYI, over on Instagram there is a group of us basically doing what you guys are talking about (but with vegan cookbooks-we change up the book each month. I'm sitting out this month, but will rejoin next month when they're doing the new Blissful Basil cookbook). It's under #vegancookalong if you are curious about joining in (or just interested in seeing how they do it). I keep thinking this idea would work well as a Litsy bookgroup 7y
tpixie @RachelO perfect. I will too! That'll give us time to psych & prepare!! 7y
tpixie @GlitteryOtters thanks!!! I'll take a peek! 7y
rockpools @tpixie Brilliant! This'll be fun. I'll warn you now though, I'm a functional cook (it has to be edible. That's it!), which is why I have so many unused cookbooks - so please keep any expectations to an absolute minimum! 7y
rockpools @GlitteryOtters That's fantastic! I'm not on instagram, but I've had a peek at what I can see, and it looks scrummy. I'd like to have more vegan recipes in my range - I tend to resort to cheese/eggs way too often. And your food always looks so delicious! 7y
tpixie @RachelO yes! Just trying to use the cookbooks I own!! 7y
tpixie @RachelO the food looks delicious on #vegancookalong!! Right now I don't want to buy anymore cook books, just utilize the ones collecting dust on my shelves! 7y

Today I made this #vegan caramelized onion & cauliflower casserole from Isa Chandra Moskowitz's new cookbook, Superfun Times Vegan Holiday Cookbook. This cookbook is well worth every penny I paid for it. 🙌

saresmoore THIS is what convinced me to try this cookbook. Yum. 7y
GlitteryOtters @saresmoore it is really good!! If/when you make this, let me caution you to only slightly pulse the filling ingredients. I overprocessed it by pulsing it 3X quickly, should have only done it once. Also, she says to put half of the cauliflower & onion mixture into the food processor with liquid ingredients, but I'd suggest doing only 1/3. Half was too much, I didn't have anywhere near enough cauliflower/onion mixture to top it, had to add extra... 7y
GlitteryOtters @saresmoore ...bread crumbs to fill it out a bit. It is VERY tasty, though!!! Highly recommend it! If you are on Instagram, check the #superfuncookbook hashtag for more photos from it (I am making this for this week's #vegancookalong entry over there) 7y

saresmoore Awesome! Thank you! (I'm a recipe improviser, too.) 7y
Suzze I don't like cauliflower, but this looks great! 7y
Alfoster This looks SO good!👏 7y
LauraBeth This looks delicious 😀 7y
Suet624 You're killing me with these fabulous cookbooks. I might have to learn to cook. Salad and granola and eggs are my go to foods. 7y
GlitteryOtters @Suet624 I highly recommend learning to cook! So many delicious meals at a significantly cheaper price than eating out. Plus, I love being able to spice the dishes to my likes/dislikes (mostly my husband & I eat separately, so I cook everything to my own likes). 7y
GlitteryOtters @LauraBeth @Alfoster @Suzze thank you!! It is sooooo good! This will be part of my lunches the next few days, so I don't have to cook/meal prep as much and can focus on baking cookies & making specialty foods for eating on Christmas Eve & day. 😋 7y
