Figured it was about time I reas this one ❤️

30% in, and it‘s pretty intriguing
Peeps:
What are some first lines in books you‘ve read that have been brilliant?
I‘m trying to come up with catchy quotes to pique student interest in reading but I am up against cell phones and social media here, so Jane Austen ain‘t cutting it.
Post your faves below!

I actually picked this one for the cover, and was pleasantly pleased. Short and fun

Why did I leave this duet on my TBR for so long???? Love love love Shakespeare, Shakespeare retellings, and this particular spin on Romeo and Juliet. DEVOURED the two books

I hereby MUST double, triple, QUADRUPLE check books before reading bc I am tired of these cliffhangers, y‘all!!! This flew by and now I have to wait till Jan for the next book. Rude

I may have been the only person on the planet that didn‘t realize this was a series, so that was fun. Nevertheless, enjoyed this YA mystery

Maybe it‘s just my headspace, but this one didn‘t do it for me

Friend told me this was a great one. Let‘s see

Died and went to heaven today

As SOON as I saw this has been released, I nabbed it. One of my fave authors

I‘ve been in a book slump and have DNF‘d so many, but this one made it better. Enough twists and turns to keep me interested.

Will it live up to the hype?

Kiddos gave me their cooties and I can‘t think straight, but this read is hitting the spot

Loved this even more than Circe.

Gothic creepiness? Check. Interesting characters? Check. Interesting plot? Check check

This was such a sweet, sexy read. Adored the characters and cannot wait for the second book to come out so we can see Hannah‘s love story

FINALLY got my hands on this one. Been waiting for it for months

Thank you for my sweet cards!! I know I‘ve been MIA but I will be back at writing this month

Didn‘t know what to expect, but enjoyed this. A bit sad, though:

I needed something light. This fit the bill. I laughed aloud

In time for Halloween 🎃

I‘m TRYING to not DNF this book, because I love this author, but holy guacamole I‘m so annoyed with the main character. Halfway through, and I‘m HOPING it improves

Not great, not terrible

Jane Eyre is one of my all time favorites so I am pretty excited about this satirical take

The last few times I read it, I hated it. Funny how books resonate differently at different seasons in our lives. Really enjoyed it this time

@Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks you‘re the sweetest

Always love when Marin narrates and the book itself was good

It was predictable, so if you‘re looking for suspense, this may not be it. That being said, I enjoyed how some of the characters evolved.

This book has me in hysterics. So clever!!!

Sci-fi isn‘t always my jam, but this was a great read!!! Also, yassss for summer vacation!

The synopsis intrigued me, but I didn‘t expect to love it so much. It is one of my favorites this year

LOVED this one so much!!!!

Thank you for my happy mail!!!! @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I have been so terrible at getting letters out lately, and I am pretty ashamed of myself. I will be making it a point to dedicate time to getting back in touch with my lovely pen pals.

The end of ELA state testing means I have time to read!! Just started this one and definitely feeling some “Rebecca” vibes
