I just think it's pretty neat that they have the characters' signatures on the cover.

Kali I hadn't even taken the dust jacket off mine. I would never have known that was there if I hadn't seen your comment. That is awesome! 1y

Pickpick

I love how the main characters queerness isn't sensationalized as a main plot point and they're not "gal pals". It's a part of the characters and kind of the plot without being the entire theme. The story lines had some amazing twists that had me shook, but some of the twists left me a bit confused and seemed to lack some cohesiveness. It was a great book, but I think it could have been pulled together a little better. #queerbooks #lgbtq

#Riotgrams Day 6: #NumberTitles

I may be a bit too literal with this one. I apologise for the state of this book, but it was my big brother's copy so I had to perform scotch tape surgery to save it. @bookriot

kelseynicburke I remember reading this in school in the sixth grade and loving it. Didn't realize until now that it's by Louis Lowry! Might have to reread it 😄 2y

#Riotgrams Day 5: #SomethingMagical

I feel like it's a bit of a cliche, but I just got back from visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Osaka and it was beautiful. I may have teared up a little. I bought Hermione's wand from Ollivander's, but I picked up the Japanese copies of the Philosopher's Stone and the Prisoner of Azkaban at a thrift shop. @bookriot

@bookriot #Riotgrams Day 3: #HowYouRead

I crack spines. Some people say it's a terrible thing to do to books, but to me it just means they're well loved. A few of my favorite paperbacks are only kept together with scotch tape. I'd much rather they be covered with cracks and wrinkles than collect dust.

This was a pretty neat idea. Dracula as Prince Consort to Queen Victoria. I really like the juxtaposition of historical and literary figures. It was a bit of nice reading before I leave on vacation. And I'll read almost anything that has, "From the sick and depraved mind of" on the cover.

I haven't read too many murder mysteries and I've never read any Agatha Christie, so this was my first time meeting Hercule Poirot. The scheme seemed convoluted and I'm not entirely satisfied with how it came together. That being said I'm glad the narrator was as exasperated with Poirot's pedantic and boastful nature as I was at times. But Dame Christie obviously has a gift for characters and plot so I'd like to read more of her.

#BookHaul I love my thrift shop. You can fill up a plastic bag full of books for a dollar, much to the detriment of my available self space. This is this afternoon's haul, but a few months ago I was lucky enough to find a Bloomsbury 1st edition of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. And I also desperately need a better quality camera phone.

Leniverse 😲 Almost all of those books are on my TBR. What a catch for you! 2y

So this is pretty cool. It's a fantastic Gothic novella and vampire story. It has alot of the over used vampire cliches, but it was written almost 30 years before Dracula so it was more original back then. There's an audiobook read by David Tennant (Dr. Who) and Rose Leslie (GoT). I'm also personally obsessed with the webseries it inspired. It's a modern day retelling told mostly in vlog format that's been rehashed to be alot more LGBTQ+ friendly
