I managed to read 10 books in August. It was just kind of a meh month, but I did love Chaos Terminal and Beautyland. I'm looking forward to a solid two months of scary books.🎃👻

This was the second book in a series. There are three books out now. It is a space murder mystery with aliens, intrigue, and great humor. I absolutely adore these characters, and the world building is so different. This book really kept my spirits up a little these past few days. I was totally absorbed.
The second novel in the Midsolar Murders series finds us back on the space station Eternity waiting for another shuttle from Earth bringing potential murder victims/ perpetrators. Mallory is a murder magnet - people die around her and she solves their murders -so get ready for a crazy , chaotic murder mystery. If you have read the first book you‘ll be happy to find all your favourite aliens are back. I couldn‘t put my ebook down - . 👍👍 🚀
I felt so-so about the first book in The Midsolar Murders but I'm starting to warm up to the main character and the cast of strange aliens. The mystery aspects in this one were pretty good too.

Mrs Brown is away on a training course for new symbionts of space stations but expects to be back before the shuttle bringing the new Earth ambassador arrives and before the Gneiss trial of Princess Tina and her advisors finishes. In the meantime Mallory should keep an eye on Eternity's functions and stay out of trouble and NO MORE MURDERS. Yeah, right.
Another great mix of fun, suspense, and intriguing mystery.
Chaotic for sure, with aliens galore, murders and old friends refinding each other. The aliens are mostly a hoot.

An unfortunately high ratio of interpersonal drama to actual creative sci fi and murder mystery greatly hampered my enjoyment. At some point the amount of time people spend sniping at each other is both irritating and boring. Worse still, the surprise romantic element featured high school flashbacks to the extent that I felt like I had a YA novel thrust on me I didn't sign up for. Not enough humour to make up for it. Decent ending.
Cozy Sci-fi Murder Mystery set on a sentient space station
Second book in the Midsolar Murders series.
The station is acting up. Mallory's connection to the Sundry hivemind is on the fritz. There are visitors from Earth, some of whom are from Mallory's past. And, of course, another murder occurs; and all visiting humans have a motive.
