Hello Littens!! I know I haven‘t been on Litsy at all in 2019, but I was so excited to receive this that I had to share. This is my most anticipated book of the year, and I can‘t wait to start reading!! #tenthousanddoors #currentlyreading

This book was so incredibly funny. If Warm Bodies and Twilight had a really sarcastic baby, this would be it. Seriously, I highly recommend it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Full review posted here: http://novelnotions.net/2018/08/13/chemistry/

I‘m pretty sure this is my favorite book of all time. It‘s the book I recommend the most and think about the most. The portrayal of music in this book speaks to me on an incredibly deep level. I know there‘s a lot of disappointment out there regarding the length of time between books and the attitude of the author toward fans, but it is without a doubt worth reading anyway. This series continues to be fabulous. It blends so many of my favorite genres, the characters are insanely well developed, and the story is never predictable. Highly recommend. Full review here: http://novelnotions.net/2018/07/27/cityofblades/

Guildedearlobe His book The Troupe is one of my all time favorite. I read the first book in this series and thought it was decent but I struggle with epic fantasies and haven‘t read the rest. 6y
Celeste57 @Guildedearlobe I have The Troupe waiting on my kindle for when I finish The Divine Cities! I‘m a massive fantasy fan, and I really enjoyed how he blended epic fantasy with urban fantasy, mystery, and horror into this series. I‘m sorry it didn‘t work as well for you. This second one was much more militaristic, so you might enjoy it more than the first if that‘s your cup of tea! 😊 6y

Wow. This was so much better than I expected. It‘s not a book I ever intended to read, but when your grandmother shoves a book at you because she loved it so much it‘s really hard to turn it down. It was action-packed and engaging and well paced, and the main character was awesome. Full review here: http://novelnotions.net/2018/07/18/the-chemist/

I loved the world building in this. Getting an urban fantasy story from a Native American perspective was wonderful. But I had a really hard time connecting to the characters, and I found the book unrelentingly dark. It had its pros and cons. Full review here: http://novelnotions.net/2018/07/11/trailoflightning/

I‘ve been taking a fantasy break for the past month or two, and I‘m super excited to dive back into my favorite genre. Up first: a trilogy that my friends have raved about that‘s been on my shelf for over a year. I‘ve heard is slow and philosophical and incredibly original. I‘m only a few chapters in, but I‘m loving it so far!

1. 56!
2. It did. I really want to read: A Confederacy of Dunces; A Prayer for Owen Meany; Beloved; Bless Me, Ultima; Crime and Punishment; Dune; Gilead; The Institutionalist; The Joy Luck Club; Lonesome Dove; One Hundred Years of Solitude; Rebecca; and basically all of the other ones I haven‘t read. I also want to give The Color Purple a second chance!
3. Harry Potter, Narnia, The Stand, Jane Eyre #GARthoughts @Traci1

Traci1 56 is a great starting point. I've got nearly 60 to go. Although I don't plan to read quite all of them. 6y

I don't have a lot of #bookmerch, but what I do have tends to be Harry Potter or LotR related. The rest of my shelf decor is mostly from movie or tv fandoms. Also, LotR is my pick for #slowburn. So slow, in fact, that I've never made it more than halfway through The Two Towers even though I've started it at least three times. And I call myself a fantasy fan... 😔😅 #readingresolutions #janinbooks18

OwenBanner That is an 80s masterpiece 6y
Celeste57 @OwenBanner That it is. But I'm on book 3 and have yet to see a single dragon. That could change in this last book, I suppose! 6y
Melissa_J I often wonder why so many fantasy novels have such horrid covers! The new editions of this series features much nicer art work on the covers. Unfortunately, I have the same editions as you. (edited) 6y

OwenBanner Haha, maybe the dragon was just a marker to nerds in the 80s to tell them, “hey, this is fantasy.” I guess we will need a time machine to find out. 6y
OwenBanner But here‘s hoping those dragons show up sooner or later 6y
Celeste57 @Melissa_J I don't know why fantasy novels, especially from the 80s and 90s, have such atrocious covers, but some of them are hilarious! And yes, the new editions of all of Hobb's Elderlings books are lovely! 6y
