I listened to Aurora Rising on audio. It was so good! I love this writing duo every book so far. And, the audio was full cast which is always awesome. It had been a while since I read a science fiction book! Set in space with a group of late teens who find themselves at run from the law, they all really come alive in this book and I cannot wait for the sequel! Strongly recommended!

I have owned this book for far too long and finally read it! It has been a while since I read a new (to me) high fantasy and this one was so good. Very interesting approach to magic. And, the ending tied up some things and then opened up some new doors. Can't wait to see where this series goes next. Strongly recommended!!

This book didn't knock my socks off, but I did enjoy it. I think the first book was my favourite. I did like Flora and the secondary characters. And, it is one of those books that get you thinking about the world and possible futures. The trilogy as a whole definitely touches on a lot of subjects. So, ultimately I am happy I read it, and I do recommend it, but not something I consider a favourite read ever. I listened to the audio & liked it.

I don't read a lot of contemporary novels anymore, but I have heard good things about this author and decided to check her out. And, it was just the right YA for me. The characters were mature without going out of the realm of believable. They had their stuff to figure out, but it wasn't like a dramatic coming of age book. It was just them figuring life out. Plus, I loved the idea of the podcast. I listed to the audio for this. Recommended!

My first read of 2019 was the audio of Renegades by Marissa Meyer. I finished it on January 5th, 2019. I really enjoy Meyer's books and enjoyed this take on the superhero world. The narrator was great, too! #animalsandbooks

I am all caught up in Fables and there is no sign of anything else being released! I am sad. I am upset about this comic, too. It was good, but there were unfinished storylines. The rumours online are that it got cancelled. I liked it, so curious why. There was a lot of good stuff here and I am happy I read It, but why do they cancel things. Sadness!

(Dog was jealous and ruined my picture. Then the cat moved, so it is what it is. lol)

I love Fables. Then it ended. So now we are left with a spin-off here and there. This one is sadly only two volumes, but after getting volume 2 this month, I knew it was time to check it out. And, I liked it. It is set after the original series and centres around some new characters, but also includes some familiar ones. Looking forward to Volume 2!

Volume 2 of the series down. It definitely is a weird series, but then Gaiman often is on the different side of things. It is starting to grow on me. I want to know what happens next. Still not knocking my socks off, but drawing me in slowly. And the art is very well done.

This was actually a reread. When I first read this, I was not reading graphic novels and I hated it. Fast forward a few years and I read graphic novels a lot, so I decided to give it another try. I won't say I loved it, but I liked the second time around way better than the first. I am looking forward to seeing what I think of the rest of the series.

xicanti This is why I thought you should buy the first three to start, then reevaluate. I hope you enjoy the others more! 2y

Well, two books in the same series in the same year, month, and week. That rarely happens! I own them in hardcover from previous Christmases but never got around to them. It took hearing the audios were good and them being in an Audible sale for me to finally get to them. I really like this series so far and have book 3 all queued up for next. I was a bit burned out on Paranormal type books, but Bishop is making me enjoy them again. Recommended!
