dabbe Maybe the moms die to spur the children to grow up and go on their quest. Victor's mom definitely did that for him. I find it interesting, too, that Victor ignores the warnings of his first professor, Krempe, just as Walton seems to ignore Victor: both are blinded by their ambition to gain glory. Walton wants to find the northwest passage, and Victor wants to aid society through science. As @BarkingMadRead knowingly said, #whatcouldgowrong? 1mo

The ending is heartbreaking. Sebastian's family is doing the absolute worst thing they could do in the name of taking care of him. I'm afraid they're driving him to his death. 2mo
