This has been a rough book to read. Getting to know several if the victims all while knowing what their fate would be... the authors detailed descriptions of the massacre... but I'd held my emotions in check until this part. It gutted me! I'm not sure yet what will happen to Anders... this is really a #subjectnewtome ... but I am hoping for so many bad things. Ugh!

#readeurope2020 Bergljot mostly broke contact w/ her family years ago, trying to overcome trauma she doesn‘t share w/her siblings. But when 2 family cabins are left to her sisters while her parents are still alive ,it has Bergljot & her brother wondering what happened to the plan to share the estate equally among the 4. Is it punishment & an attempt to suppress some long buried truths? When is dysfunction & hypocrisy the breaking point? #Norway

Continuing my TBR project:
This is one the oldest selection on my TBR list - Originally added February 16, 2017.

I had high expectations about this book. Maybe too high because I didn‘t like it as much as I thought I would. To me, it was too much war story and not enough crime drama.

Suet624 Nice cover though. 😀 1mo
suvata @Suet624 I think that‘s what drew me to it. 1mo

Very basic nordic noir. Didn't really stand out from other Nordic thrillers that I've read. The characters were also pretty basic nordic noir characters. It was still nice to listen to. But if I'd had to choose the next nordic noir book to read it wouldn't be from this series...
