Inspiration credit goes to @Eggs , because I used an obvious choice for this prompt for #neverever (Stephen Hawking).

Cinfhen Nice!!! Getting inspiration from @Eggs 1mo
Mdargusch Love it! 🌑🖤🌑 1mo

#NeverEver have I been as behind reviewing books as I have been of late between battling slumps, everyday hecticness and poor time management. Hoping to have reviews up of the pictured books (all Picks!) soon.

Cinfhen Lots of good reads!!! Are u readyish to roll for MAY??? Feel free to post playlist whenever u like in the next couple of days. 1mo
rohit-sawant @Cinfhen Yes, almost done! 😀 Had trouble including some songs because of regional restrictions so compiling it in an older account I used with a VPN. Will have it up soon! 1mo
Mdargusch Wow! Good for you! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 1mo

Reviewsbylola Which one was your favorite? I loved VotD! 1mo
rohit-sawant @Mdargusch Thanks! 😊 1mo
rohit-sawant @Reviewsbylola Oo, that's difficult to answer! They were unique in tone to one another and I loved them all. And VotD was so good! I instantly connected with JS's voice. Love it when that happens. Also it's a tie between all three anthologies/collection (Carnival, Seize & Trouble) for their scope of imagination. I love the vampire subgenre so Seize was especially fun. 1mo
emilyhaldi I loved VotD too 💞💞💞 1mo
emilyhaldi And I feel your pain... I'm obviously very behind in catching up on my litsy comments!!! 😂😅 1mo
rohit-sawant @emilyhaldi Good to know I'm not alone on that front 🤣🤣 1mo

“In fact, I think that‘s probably what the Bermuda Triangle is up to. It doesn‘t mean to do any harm, and it‘s actually pretty nice once you get to know it. It‘s just that Bermuda doesn‘t know how to handle itself when somebody sails into its territory, because that hardly ever happens.”

#neverever will I gain control over my book buying obsession. Case in point: I "needed” to buy 1 book for #nyrb bookclub and ended up with 4.

Ps. Winky is always judging me

#anglophileapril

saresmoore But it‘s for an important virtual book club, so it‘s more like an investment. (Which is what I said to my husband.) 1mo
Aimeesue It's not your fault. NYRB editions are impossible to resist. 1mo
Melissa_J I don‘t think that book buying is an obsession you should ever have to get over 😊 1mo

Leftcoastzen That‘s cuz Winky can count! how does 1 =4? I have the same problem.😂 1mo
ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled Winky is like, “Four?!?!” 😂 1mo
vivastory I have to agree with @saresmoore on this one & say no one needs your judgmental attitude, Winky! 😹 1mo

Pickpick

All the father wants for his daughter is to fit in. All the mother wants for her is to be exceptional. Both parents project on Lydia their own youth traumas. And then she dies.

I liked this novel by Celeste Ng, though not as much as Little Fires Everywhere. I kept wondering why the whole dysfunctional family #NeverEver talked to eachother, neither before nor after Lydia‘s death.

#AnglophileApril #ReadingUSA2019 #Ohio

emilyhaldi I wondered the same damn thing! 1mo
Kalalalatja It is so weird they don‘t just talk to one another! 1mo
BarbaraBB @emilyhaldi @Kalalalatja It was pretty frustrating. No one talked about anything, for years! The title covers it all 😂 1mo

Mdargusch Good choice. I think it‘s so odd when families don‘t talk to each other. 1mo
NatalieR I remember being sucked into this one. Such an emotional story. 1mo
Librarybelle I really enjoyed this book...good choice! 1mo
Reviewsbylola I didn‘t care for this one at all but liked Little Fires! 1mo
jessinikkip I havent been able to get a copy but I keep hearing good things. Thanks for the review! 1mo

I know I‘ll #NeverEver see the publication of The Winds of Winter. I know. But.... I can‘t help but hoping that G.R.R.M will surprise us all and get it out just when we all least expect it. 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Melissa_J I feel the same way! 1mo
emilyhaldi I didn't realize it had been so long since he started writing it?! (Just went down a Google rabbit hole) 😲 1mo
Kalalalatja @sudi @Literary_Siren @TrishB @Reviewsbylola @Melissa_J to be fair, I get if the man is feeling the pressure. The TV series has become cannon now, so everything he writes will be compared to it, and not the other way around as normal. 🤷‍♀️ @emilyhaldi the man definitely knows how to procrastinate! 1mo
Mdargusch He needs to get on it! 1mo
emilyhaldi Very fair point!!! That has to be stressful😅 1mo
TorieStorieS 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 1mo
bookandcat He said recently that writing for it is going very well right now. I think he had writer's block for a bit (probably due to show pressure which is now alleviated as it ends) and also had a lot of backstory and mapping to do which is how we ended up with the monster book that is Fire and Blood. 1mo
Kalalalatja @bookandcat that‘s good news, but I still need to see before I believe it 😅 1mo

#neverever will I have adequate shelf space. 😆 I‘ve taken to just piling books on the floor in my husband‘s office/den. Luckily he‘s a good sport. #anglophileapril

Oh, and there are more hidden away in his entertainment stand to the right. 🤣🤣🤣

ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled My floor stacks have turned into stairs for the cats 🤦‍♀️ 1mo

“Never ever have I ever felt so low
When you gonna take me out of this black hole?
Never ever have I ever felt so sad
The way I'm feeling yeah, you got me feeling really
bad”

Reminds me of Bella‘s depressive episode in New Moon after Edward leaves her 😂🧛🏻‍♂️

Bookish confession (one that may get me banned from Litsy 😂): I #neverever smell my books, nor have I ever wanted to. I don‘t get the love for it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Someone please tell me I‘m not alone?

#AnglophileApril

Leelee08 I‘m the same way. Nothing against book-sniffers, it‘s just never been my thing.🤷🏼‍♀️ 1mo
Mdargusch You are not alone! 1mo
Reviewsbylola Yeah I don‘t remember ever actually sniffing a book. But the smell of a bookstore is 👌🏻 1mo
See All 14 Comments
Swe_Eva I only notice the smell if it's bad. 😁 1mo
shadowspeak17 I‘m a bit sensitive to smells, so I avoid sniffing most things, including books. 😅 1mo
emilyhaldi I LOVE the smell of library books in particular ☺️ 1mo
mabell Me neither! 1mo
Melissa_J @Leelee08 @Mdargusch @mabell I‘m very glad to learn I‘m not the only one 😊 1mo
Melissa_J @Reviewsbylola I don‘t think I‘ve ever noticed the smell of a bookstore as being different from any other store, although I would probably notice the smell in a used book store. 1mo
Melissa_J @Swe_Eva ha! Yes, me too 😊 1mo
Melissa_J @shadowspeak17 so am I, and I can get migraines from scents. There are lots of smells I have to avoid, most especially anything perfume-y. 1mo
Melissa_J @emilyhaldi Interesting. What is it about the smell that you like? 1mo
emilyhaldi It's very nostalgic!! Reminds me of story time at the library when I was little 🤗 1mo
Tamra Hmmmm, I do like the smell of a new paperback. It‘s just weird and unexplainable. 1mo
