Louise Erdrich broke my heart about four times in this book and she started right in the first chapter. It was my first time reading her work and I loved it. A family saga of the Kashpaws and Lamartines most of the time but with each chapter almost a short story from a different person‘s perspective. The writing is phenomenal 😍

Lab Girl | Hope Jahren

I'm listening to the audio version of this wonderful debut memoir and Jahren's voice sounds infused with #heartache, as if it's always on the verge of breaking. In one great section, she describes writing a college English thesis where she analyzed uses of the word 'heart' in David Copperfield. Then in describing a particularly stressful job at a hospital, she quotes Copperfield-heart quotes at the perfect moments ❤️💔 #fiercefeb @batsy @Cinfhen

The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter | Carson McCullers

One of my favorite novels also happens to be one of the most heartbreaking I've read. The residents of a mill town in Georgia desperately search for meaningful connections. McCullers cool style emphasizes, rather than undercuts, the overwhelming loneliness of many of the characters.

I absolutely adore this book. I read it years and years ago and it has stayed with me. Four lives come together in India during the 1970s. Powerful and emotional. It was recommended to me by my baba. #goodmorningheartache #throwbackthursday #fiercefeb

Overcome by grief & loss, three slips from their "jar of spontaneity' leads to a trip to Thailand, Italy & Hawaii to heal the heartache. This book that I reviewed a few years ago had me ugly-crying & still makes me a bit choked up thinking about it. A beautiful story that surprises & shows the power of love, loss & healing.??

Tell the Wolves I'm Home: A Novel | Carol Rifka Brunt

I'm always trying to get people to read this book. It's a poignant, bittersweet story of a girl coming to terms with the loss of a favorite uncle in the late 80s. It's a really beautiful story and definitely a tear-jerker. 😢❤
