Just Me and My Reading Buddy | Mrs. McAuley's First Grade Class 15-16

Hi all - I hope you are all healthy and safe during this interesting time. Below are the last three books selected for the upcoming #mgbuddyread I'm sorry to say I am going to have to step away from running the group right now. I'm just not able to be as on top of things as I would like (I'm sure this doesn't come as a shock to any of you). Is there anyone who would like to take over, or should we just say goodbye to the group for now?

LibrarianRyan I would hate to see the group die. I could take a book or two, especially if each of us hosted a month it might make it easier on everyone. 4y

Chelsibno I‘ve been with the group since its beginning, and I‘d hate to see it disappear. I like @LibrarianRyan‘s idea of everyone taking turns being the host. I wouldn‘t mind taking a book or two. 4y

Daisey Just getting to this after a long day of sending students home with all their stuff and trying to figure out my next steps. I like the idea of rotating hosts as well. I haven‘t read Refugee yet so I will try to fit it in whether we discuss or not. 4y

Chelsibno I can do June or July. I‘ve been wanting to read “Roll with It” by Jamie Sumner, which is a reasonably new middle grade book. If that book sounds good to everyone, I can do that one.

JaclynW Ah. Sorry. Just getting back to Litsy tonight. I REALLY want to read Refugee. My son has been begging me to for months. If we skip it, I will still read. LibrarianRyan @JaclynW if someone is willing to take it on I wouldn‘t say skip it. A lot of us have read it. I could look tomorrow. I bet there is already a set of discussion questions for it and it would be a bit of cheering but we could still have our discussion that way. I‘ll look in the morning. 4y

Chelsibno I can do the discussion for Refugee in March. I‘ve already read it and was planning on listening to the audiobook as a refresher. I‘m sure I can either find or come up with a set of discussion questions for it. No need to skip it. 4y

Hello #mgbuddyread friends (old & new 🙂)! The results from the survey are in! 17 Littens were polled - 12 are continuing! Out of those 12, 8 thought we should take a break for the summer. We will start again in September (another post to follow). Sunday night for discussion came out with 6 votes, 3 during the week & 2 for Saturday morning. Maybe we'll play it by ear for discussion days. 11 Littens wanted to keep the discussion open (con't)
