LibrarianRyan yeahhh 4d
SamanthaMarie I'm still waiting for my copy from ILL. But if it doesn't come by Thursday then I'll buy it on Kindle. So so excited!!! 4d
Lmstraubie @SamanthaMarie It's a quick read. Fingers crossed it comes in 🤞🤞🤞 4d

I don‘t have a partner for #BBRC but I love a questionnaire so....

1. Grow Up so far. I‘ve already completed 4 of them
2. MiddleGrade - I‘ll have to actively seek out books.
3. 🤔🤔🤔
4. Non-Fiction Graphic Novel - I don‘t read GNs
5. Memoirs of a Geisha
6. Twilight. Love the 1stbook but I hate the 1st movie so much.

LibrarianRyan Yeahhh. There are quite a few people (including myself) who will be happy to reccomend MG books. Plus if you check out the #MGbuddyread tag you can see some good one, and we shall be suggesting new books for that group this month. 2w

Book 3.
I have the series, I just need to read it. Its gets lots of love from other Littens.

Out September

#CoverLove #KidsEdition

Bookjunkie57 Can‘t wait for this to come out. Such a cute series 4w
BooknerdsLife Is it odd for a middle aged mom with teenage kid like me want to read this series too? 😆 4w
LibrarianRyan @BooknerdsLife goodness no! If you feel you need a reason join the #MGBuddyRead or round 7 of #lmpbc because I know I‘ll do a middle grade group again. 4w
BooknerdsLife @LibrarianRyan oh thank you! That sounds great 😊 4w

This is the sequel to small space. I am hoping to maybe talk the #MGBuddyRead into doing book one this october. I have heard great things about both books.

Out August 27

#CoverLove #KidsEdition

rachelsbrittain I really enjoyed the first one and am looking forward to the sequel! 4w
SamanthaMarie Is there a way to join #mgbuddyread? Has a book been picked for August/September? I swoon for MG :) 1w
LibrarianRyan @SamanthaMarie anyone can join at anytime. See your already in. I don‘t “run”. We are talking about the tagged book at the end of this month. People had trouble getting copies so it went for two months. I believe new books will be chosen or voted on at the middle to end of the month. @Lmstraubie runs it. (edited) 1w

LibrarianRyan @SamanthaMarie there is also the LMPBC rounds. I normally start up a middle grade round. This round is full but in october keep your eyes out because when round 7 goes up it fills up fast. And there are all sort of groups. It‘s run by @suvata 1w
SamanthaMarie Awesome!!! Thank you so much for all of your help today. I appreciate it. I just placed a hold on Playing Atari with Saddam Hussein with our library system 1w
SamanthaMarie We have 5 of 7 available copies and I'm the only one in line so I'm hopeful. Middle Georgia has not the most... adventurous of readers haha ;) 1w
LibrarianRyan @SamanthaMarie it was so good and completely. Not what I was expecting. This round has had great books. I think the only so so Book was Bob. 1w

5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you #mgbuddyread for making me read this book. I would have never read it otherwise and I would have missed out on a wonderful and moving story.

Full review will be posted to LT and GR later today.

mrp27 Thanks for the reminder! I totally forgot about this months buddy read. 1mo
LibrarianRyan @mrp27 I ordered the book a month ago because I knew it would take a bit for ILL to find a library willing to lend a copy. Most of the public around me do not have it and neither did the bookstore. I was board at work yesterday and started it, and then could not stop. 1mo
Johanna414 I just got this in my library last month! 1mo

Lmstraubie So glad you enjoyed it! Posting the reminder now 😣 1mo
LibrarianRyan @Johanna414 It was so good. If I was still in a public, I probably would have crossed by radar, but now that I am in a government, I don't always see the smaller books. 1mo
mrp27 @LibrarianRyan Wow, that stinks the book wasn't readily available to you. I'm lucky my library has it I just need to put in a request for it and start reading. 1mo
LibrarianRyan @mrp27 it was probably more popular in suburbs of Chicago where the libraries are better funded. Once you get below I80 the library funding isn‘t as nice and the libraries only buy the best sellers. 1mo
mrp27 Gotcha. Looks like a good one. 1mo
Johanna414 @LibrarianRyan the only reason it crossed my radar is that my PermaBound book rep recommended it highly when she was visiting me this year. She‘s one of those really awesome sales people who actually reads the books and can have a good conversation about literature for young people 1mo
LibrarianRyan @Johanna414 those are the best reps. 1mo
JaclynW I just picked my copy up from my local library. Can't wait! 1mo

Anyone else think the teacher is racist.? This is just one sample.

#mgbuddyread #yesimbehind

SaturnDoo 🤔 no that passage didn't come across as being racist but there were some others that did. 2mo
LibrarianRyan @SaturnDoo yes, others were much worse. 2mo
SaturnDoo @LibrarianRyan I agree. How are you liking this one so far? I am excited for the sequel next year 😁😂 2mo

LibrarianRyan @SaturnDoo I just finished it. I really enjoyed it. I would never have read this if it wasn‘t part of the buddy read but I loved it. 2mo
mrp27 I read this a while ago so it's not entirely fresh in my mind. I remember the teacher making me feel uncomfortable. 2mo
SaturnDoo @LibrarianRyan I enjoyed it too. I like MG, I probably would have read it at some point but I liked reading it as a buddy read. 😊 1mo

So, what shall I be reading in July...too much. I plan to get as much of the picture read as possible, plus not pictured is Front Desk that I am a few chapters away from completing

The July #MGBuddyRead Playing Atari with Sadam Huseeen (I had to get a copy from the library)

and the challenge from @Trashcanman to read the first Rambo book. It is sitting on my work desk, but it will get done. YOU SHALL NOT BEAT ME!!! (insert maniacal laugh)

wanderinglynn I‘m currently reading The Girl Who Drank the Moon 👍🏻👍🏻 2mo

Peddler410 I wonder about Mr. Yao‘s son. I was happy to see him change by the end of the story. 2mo
sblbooks This was a good book. I heard there might be a sequel. Did anyone else hear that? 2mo
TheBookHippie @sblbooks yes I did does anyone know???? 2mo

TheBookHippie This is a true very good story 2mo
TheBookHippie Thank you for this!!!! It was an amazing read! 2mo
mrp27 @sblbooks I think I heard the same thing. I'd definitely read it. 2mo
mrp27 Great book and very timely. 2mo
LibrarianRyan Anyone else think the teacher was racist. And using racist lesson plans? What about mom and her actions or lack of actions? @Peddler410 @amie @sblbooks @TheBookHippie @mrp27 @Chelsibno @SaturnDoo 2mo
TheBookHippie @LibrarianRyan I did but that‘s daily life here I forget it‘s not normal 😳😭 2mo
LibrarianRyan @TheBookHippie unfortunately very true. 😢😤 2mo
Lmstraubie @LibrarianRyan @TheBookHippie I was thinking she depicted the teacher that way to shine a light on how white privilege blurs people's vision. 1mo
LibrarianRyan @Lmstraubie ohhhh. Good point. 1mo
JaclynW Thank you for bringing my awareness to this perspective changing book! It is so timely. I will be recommending this to everyone I know. 1mo
JaclynW @LibrarianRyan The teacher's actions bothered me too. I saw it as a naivety on her end - @Lmstraubie definitely white privilege. I was also happy to see Jason change at the end @peddler410, what courage it took on his end to stand up to his dad. 1mo
