Nisha Cantor and Sam Kemp are two very different women. Nisha, 45, lives the globetrotting life of the seriously wealthy, until her husband inexplicably cuts her off entirely. She doesn't even have the shoes she was, until a moment ago, standing in. That's because Sam - 47, middle-aged, struggling to keep herself and her family afloat - has accidentally taken Nisha's gym bag. Now Nisha's got nothing. And Sam's walking tall with shoes that catch eyes - and give her career an unexpected boost. Except Nisha wants her life back - and she'll start with her shoes . . .

Reggie There is this Black Feminist on YouTube, Kimberly Nicole Foster who has a channel called For Harriet. She has this video called Can Therapy Save Black men and even though she‘s talking about Black couples, a lot of what she‘s talking about is this quote and it came off quite universal. She‘s great if you ever get the chance to check her out. 1d

This was a fun chick lit novel about starting over, friendships and hardships. It is about walking in someone else‘s shoes literally and experiencing the other side of life that we have never experienced! I liked the women friendships in this story but overall didn‘t enjoy it as much as her other books especially the second half which dragged out a little for me!

I love Jojo Moyes but I tend to gravitate towards her historical fiction more than contemporary. This was no exception. It was an ok story but, to be honest, I didn‘t really care about any of the characters. Of the two mains one was a pretty epic bitch and the other was a doormat. Yes they both changed a bit by the end and became more relatable but still…I just didn‘t care. And the final situation was kind of ridiculous. Just ok overall. 🌟🌟🌟💫

I have mixed feelings about this… I enjoyed the plot but the main characters kind of annoyed me which made it hard to want to read. Overall, not my favorite…

This story reads in the comedic style of a Bridget Jones‘ Diary or The Holiday with lots of wackiness happening. Had it been a serious drama I‘d have taken issue with the two MCs treating two supporting characters undeservedly bad. But I‘m not going to fault it because it‘s all part of the full-circle development of the MCs. Fun read! ↓

marleed Btw, pictured are my sister‘s shoes. I had the honor of sitting with her through the last day of her life. Of course, these were the shoes I wore to her funeral. Kilts were worn. Bagpipes were played. Irish flags were part of the procession afterwards. These shoes were perfect because I needed to walk in her shoes - and still do. 1w
Dilara So sorry about your sister. It looks like the funeral was about celebrating her life, which is great. 1w

marleed @Dilara @5feet.of.fury @ShelleyBooksie @dabbe @lauraisntwilder Oh thank you. She died a year and half ago but was everything Irish to my very Irish hometown with her little Celtic store and strong support of Celtic bands. It was literally Montana state news when she passed. If only she knew how loved and respected she was. My wearing her shoes to her funeral was only a glimmer of glitter shined upon her that day. 1w
lauraisntwilder @marleed I come from a town called Erin. I get the most homesick in March. Erin go bragh! 💚☘️ 1w
marleed @lauraisntwilder oh that‘s awesome. It means you must acknowledge St Patrick‘s Day wherever you are! 1w

such an entertaining audiobook, narrated by Daisy Ridley who absolutely knocked it out of the park. it‘s so much more than just a story about a bag mix-up. Sam and Nisha, our main characters are flawed but still likable and easy to root for. the cast of supporting characters — Jasmine, Andrea, and Alex the dreamboat chef — are wonderful. super satisfying ending too. 5 ⭐️s!!

Easy read but it was hard for me to like the antagonist or to care about her plot. She was just so nasty and rude all the time. Her great redemption comes only after she sleeps with a guy who has been nice to her which totally undercuts the female empowerment of the story.

It was good. It‘s a fun story about middle age women dealing with some cruddy situations and using friendship to get through it. The story is just over the top enough to make it an interesting read, but not so unrealistic you‘ll roll your eyes.

My #BOTM picks after skipping January. Excited for both of these. I would have chosen Georgie, All Along if I hadn‘t already preordered it. I read an arc of it and LOVED it.
