As a woman, i love what she has done for equality. I also appreciate what she had to do to get there. I feel many of us take working for granted. #readharderchallenge2019 childrens or middle grade book that won a diversity award in 2018

Concise illustrated “life of” The Honourable Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Lovely edition but not too junior and remains politically neutral. Appropriate for kids reading on their own and adults who enjoy a good illustrated edition. Modern chalk lettering can be a little difficult but overall a very good tribute. The additional info in the back and further suggested reading are also extremely valuable. Definitely a pick & highly recommended!!

GlassAsDiamonds (Aside: I cannot believe the Honorable Justice is preceded by Sir Lion of Beef 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️). 13mo

This Jane Addams Award winner is a (B/NF) picture book written by: Debbie Levy and illustrated by: Elizabeth Baddeley. This picture book notes Ginsburg‘s foibles, the support of her husband and family, and her struggles as a lawyer, professor and judge. TS: IR, GR, SR & PR. #UCFLAE3414SP18

GraceNeg I will use this book as an IR/PR. There is a lot of information to discuss. This link takes you to a book review and several activities to implement in the class. http://www.theclassroombookshelf.com/2016/10/i-dissent-ruth-bader-ginsburg-makes... UDL 8.3, 4.1 ESOL 2 & 4. 2y

I am simply blown away by the support I have received from my family, friends, and fellow Littens. SO many wonderful people are supporting my cause of getting diverse literature into the hands of my middle school students (http://a.co/7mwodeS). Today I got a package from @emmanoble and I couldn't be more grateful. 📚💕

Another great children's book about a strong, motivated woman. This book also teaches kids that strict gender roles and stereotypes not only hurt women, but they can be harmful for men as well. I think this book will inspire kids to want to help others and to be themselves, no matter what gender they are.

Squeaking in a bit of reading before work with this charming elementary-level biography of Ruth Bader Ginsburg by Debbie Levy. The theme of dissenting and resisting against limitations thrown in one's path is appealing to all ages and even includes little flashes of humor. Hand this one to a kiddo looking to write a report about an influential woman (or do like me and pick it up for yourself!). Loved it. #feminist #biography #juvenile

Bold and brazen, determined and decided. This book is superb. Everything in it is strong and effective, from the art, to the text, to the events chosen to capture RBG's life. I read this with my 8-year old, and she loved it as much as I did. It made her ask questions about why things had been the way they were, and what things still need to be changed. I want this one in my personal collection. Maybe I'll share with my kids. :)

A truly delightful children's book about the life of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Levy's prose is spot on; she tells RBG's story in a manner both accessible & empowering. Illustrator Elizabeth Baddeley really captures RBG & her family; her work really aids in the story telling with small details. #imasuckerforgoodillustrations • ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 • #rolemodels #childrensbooks #notoriousRBG #yesivereadthatonetooandlovedit #ishouldwriteareviewforthat

With a nudge of encouragement from @Reviewsbylola and inspired by all of your Inauguration Day posts, I've signed up for #24in48 and here's what I'm looking to read. I originally wasn't participating because I have to work tomorrow and the kids and husband tend to demand the rest of the time but I'll carve some hours here and there and I'm sure they'll stack up. And it won't kill my kids to watch a bit more Sophia the First than normal. 😉
