Quick, entertaining read. I was in a reading rut, and this pulled me right out.
This book was amazing! I really enjoyed all of the characters and plot was really good.

This was part of the #lmpbc and I had so much fun reading the comments in the book. I am leaving the rating so so as not to influence for the next #LMPBC person on the list.
2 points - book read and participation
Side note to #lmpbc @Stacypatrice - this will go in the mail tomorrow to you. I am so sorry for it being later than I expected.
#24B4MONDAY is fast approaching! Here is my line up for the #readathon. I‘ve already started My Lovely Wife so that may be finished before Friday. What‘s in your lineup for the readathon? Please join us here on Litsy, and over on FB and GR. It‘s all about getting in some extra reading and having fun. 📚 📖 🤓
Boy did I have a fun time with this book! Definitely gave me Dexter vibes, so if you like that show check this out. I saw part of the plot twist early on but not enough that I wasn‘t still thrilled at the reveal! Now no more starting new books until after my exam Thursday 😅😂
At first I did not like this book because I felt the writing was choppy. It just didn‘t flow for me. I don‘t know if the writing got better or I just got so invested, but I really enjoyed this book. In my head I came up with several twists, and only half guessed the correct one. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
I spent most of this book trying to figure out the ending and anticipating the “twist”. I didn‘t figure it out but also wasn‘t surprised when it happened. I love dark twisted books and this one didn‘t disappoint! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Up until about the last 80 pages I would have given this book a So-So rating. A “typical” suburban couple adds some mystery and murder to their lives. The wife is a little quirky and the husband willing to go along with her dark impulses; in fact it what holds their relationship together. Throughout the book I kept trying to figure out where it was going, but I did not expect where it wound up. A great unexpected ending that made my jaw drop!
A twisty & twisted tale. A suburban couple fight their marriage slump with premeditated murder. I devoured this one in two sittings. I will definitely be keeping an eye on Downing's future release!
Loved these dark characters, both the narrator and his "lovely" wife Millicent. This couple has some unconventional date nights... A bit slow in the middle, but the last third was a total page turner. I felt like Downing could've played up a couple of things even more than she did, but overall a really engaging thriller. I look forward to more from the author!

I have another book to send to a new home. All I ask is that you send this book on to someone else once you're finished or pick a book from your shelves to pass on.
First to comment below is the lucky winner. 😁
I loved every semi-predictable moment of it! It's not perfect but I didn't care. I had to know how it would end and I didn't want to put it down. #justwhatineeded
This book is complex and interesting. Although we are discussing serial killers, it is not gruesome, as the book focuses on the psychology of planning and committed murders while maintaining a family life. My only complaint was that there were a lot of flashbacks that created some confusion about when the narrator was describing.
I am loving this book! I don‘t want it to end. I‘m 3/4 of the way through, I am just realizing that I do not know the Male main characters real name. One of my favorite quotes so far is “ My poker face is terrible, and I lose every hand”. Wrong hobby to have if you don‘t have a good poker face! Maybe it will get him in the end.......
If This-Is-So-Wrong was a book genre on a list of favorite types of story I wouldn‘t check that box. Nevertheless, sometimes, like this one, I‘m intrigued all the way to the finish. Giving it a pick, because shoot, I liked it. But man oh man this is so wrong!
I‘m new. How do I make book friends?
This book was nuts. I didn‘t expect it to be as good as it was honestly. The story is about a man and his wife and their twisted criminal acts. The story really builds up to a suspenseful and creepy ending and I really was extremely satisfied with how it all came together. I didn‘t guess everything in this one which is something I really love in a thriller!
I can't wait to hear what the rest of #LMPBC #GroupS thinks of this one. It's probably one of the craziest thrillers I've read with many cringeworthy & creepy moments. My mind has been trying to process it all since I finished it early Friday morning. I guessed some twists, but not all. It certainly fits in with our theme as this is the most horror-like thriller that I've read. I'll send this over to Hannah soon!! @Hestapleton @jb72 @Stacypatrice
My book morning: snagged a new hardcover at #HPB with a coupon (tagged), grabbed a latte at the cafe and now settling down with my #litsygivaway win from @TheLibrarian for a bit. I read the first chapter last night and I'm very intrigued!
How are your bookish Sundays going, #Littens?
This was the audiobook that got me through 15 hours of driving today. I think it was the audio that made this book appealing. If I hadn‘t had a voice to go with the main character I think I wouldn‘t have found him sympathetic at all. Thought it was clever and fun, although the ending was a bit rushed. Definitely made my trip easier!
Oh, and as I have had trouble finishing books this summer, at least I can say I finished this one!
I have never read a book like this before! I knew this book would be a thriller from the very first page! It kept me hooked and I couldn‘t put it down. The main characters in the novel are a serial killer couple, but the question is: is one of them more sinister than the other and how many secrets do they keep from each other? This book ranks in my favorites and I can‘t wait to read more from this author!
