THRILLER - MYSTERY

What an ending to this slow burn. It is worth the wait.

Another good one by Ms. Paris as she gives us characters with secrets kept and characters you won‘t want to trust, but can‘t figure out why.

Don‘t miss it.

It‘s Livia‘s 40th birthday, and her husband Adam is throwing her the party of a lifetime to make up for the wedding they never had. Everyone she loves will be there, except her daughter Marnie, who‘s studying abroad. But Livia is secretly glad Marnie won‘t be there. Livia has recently uncovered a secret about their daughter which, if revealed, will shake

EadieB the foundation of their family to its core. She needs to tell Adam, but she‘s waiting until the party is over so they can have this last happy time together.
Adam, meanwhile, has his own surprise for Livia: he‘s arranged for Marnie to secretly fly back for the party. But before Marnie arrives, Adam hears some terrible news. Now he too is faced with a dilemma: Does he share what he's learned with his wife?

EadieB Is hiding the truth the same as telling a lie? And how far are Adam and Livia willing to go to protect the ones they love—and give each other a last few hours of happiness?
I really liked this book a lot. Livia and Adam both had a surprise to tell after the party. When she broke the story she had for Adam, they both were talking about the same story but different events arose. Finally the truth was told but not to the anger that Livia held.

EadieB I don't want to tell what the secret was so you will have to read the book to find out. But the things that happen after the truth is let out shows us how they handled the surprise. It is a tear-jerking story so have the tissues ready. If you like a good cry then you need to read this book. I look forward to my next B.A. Paris book as I find her books amazing but not always liked by others. 5mo

Amelie has always been a survivor, from losing her parents as a child in Paris to making it on her own in London. As she builds a life for herself, she is swept up into a glamorous lifestyle where she married the handsome billionaire Ned Hawthorne.

EadieB But then, Amelie wakes up in a pitch-black room, not knowing where she is. Why has she been taken? Who are her mysterious captors? And why does she soon feel safer here, imprisoned, than she had begun to feel with her husband Ned? 2y
EadieB This is a great thriller, a perfect escape read. It is a fascinating tale of mystery and intrigue. It is a character study of human behavior. The unexpected twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning until the very end. The pacing was lightening fast and kept me reading. This is definitely the best B.A. Paris book and I would highly recommend it to others. If you like mystery thrillers then you will love this book. 2y
EadieB I would like thank NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for a copy for an honest review. 2y

+Uhmmm.. It was infuriating to read. But I'm honestly glad that it was over. 😂 I almost DNF, but since it was my friend's recommendation, I should at least try to finish it.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
+Also, there's a lot of plot holes. The ending was predictable and satisfying. If you like domestic thriller, this book is for you.⁣⁣

The Therapist | B A Paris

@StMartinsPress [free book]

I enjoyed The Therapist just as much as Paris‘ other books for many reasons. Instead of diving right into the drama, this novel starts out by simply introducing the characters and their place in life, allowing the reader to get to know them at almost a personal level.

The simmering progression of the plot made things occur in a way that felt natural, rather than forced or ridiculous. This is a fun thriller!!
