Steve Carell has so much class.

😂👍 I love Mindy Kaling for her courage to share this with the world. Lol.
I'll hang out with you any day, Mindy! 😄
I‘m swamped with mindless work and audiobooks are helping me get through it. I love Mindy and this book was hilarious! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I was given this book to read by a friend and I was hesitant to read it, not that I thought it was bad, it just isn‘t normally my first choice in reading materials. It turned out to be a surprisingly good and fast read.
“Sometimes you just have to put on lipgloss and pretend to be psyched.”
Kaling is never not funny so I wasn‘t surprised to have enjoyed this book. It‘s a bit uneven, as are most collections, but when it is good it is poignant, honest, and very, very funny.
In an effort to be more active, I've tried out my first audiobook. 🍒💥 I tried reading the print version of this book and never ended up finishing it. I love Mindy but it feel flat for me. I thought this book was a much funnier in the audio version, would recommend.
I read this when it first came out and loved it. I recently got into audiobooks, and was curious about memoirs / first person books that are narrated by the author. I love Mindy Kahling, so it's no surprise that I loved listening to her narrate her book. It felt like hanging out with with my most hilarious friend.
I wanted to love this book, or at least really like it. The Boston Globe called it “Very funny” in large font on the back cover. Dammit, Boston.
I still like Mindy Kaling, and I thought her book was fun... just not really funNY.
i wish i could go back in time, not read this book, & retain the belief that mindy kaling was cool.
I didn‘t love this. It was hard for me to tell when she was serious and when she was joking. Disappointing, since this was supposed to be a #funnybook I probably should have anticipated that it wouldn‘t be my kind of humor since I was never a huge fan of The Office.
When your Libby hold becomes available, you have to switch what you‘re listening to. #currentlylistening
Sunday night reading!
Enjoyed this again!
Cute fun read. Always interesting to get in the mind of someone you think would be fun to hang out with.
This has been a favorite since I first read it on Kindle and I‘ve always kind of wished I had it in hard copy... so I was delighted to find it for €1 at an SVP recently. I‘m enjoying the re-read!
I would rate this book 4/5.. I wish I could give it 5 stars because reading it gave me some good laughs and I enjoyed getting a glimpse into the life of Mindy Kaling. I really did feel like I was hanging out with her! With that being said, there were some parts I found hard to get through and I had to read it between books instead of bingeing it like I had hoped. Still a good book and happy I finished it. 😊

Fun and light and very Mindy Kaling. Not all of the book has aged well but it was a good palate cleanser!
I was a little disappointed with this book. From what I was told this book is funny and enjoyable. I did not think it was all that funny. I only really laughed at one part. There was very interesting parts of the book as she talks about her childhood, and of course her time on the office.
This was a fun book to listen to. Mindy is funny and witty. I loved her lists of things. And the sweet way she talked about her family. It was a joy to read.
Easy listen while lesson planning.
litsy photo dump #5 (last one). I was excited to read this book. I love Mindy Kaling! It started out great, but as i read on it got gossipy and a little shallow. I finished it, but I was definitely skipping over paragraphs and pages.
This was a fun book but I don't think it was very memorable
Ehhh, it was okay but at this point kind of outdated in the sense that some of the things she talked about no long exist, i.e Amy Poehler and Will Arnett‘s marriage. This book won‘t stand the rest of time. I will say after reading Mindy, Tina and Amy P‘s books, they all reference the same skit that Amy P did at SNL being 9 months pregnant and rapping. Each of their perspective on the same event is fascinating. I need to check it out!
“I always wanted the reboot of ‘Ghostbusters‘ to be four girl-ghostbusters. Like, four normal, plucky women living in New York City searching for Mr. Right”.....Little did she know that this would happen! She also wanted to be in the reboot of Oceans...and that happened for her! Maybe she can see into the future 🤫
If you like the mindy project then you will like this. She is so funny
Been reading this for the past couple of days. I LOVE The Office so I‘ve enjoyed hearing about Kaling‘s time on the show and what else she‘s been up to. Her writing is super relatable and funny.
I‘ve sped through this book. I frickin LOVE Mindy. She is the most relatable human on this planet, at least for me. In college in one of my Lit courses, my professor was sweet as pie and wicked smart, but she assigned The Winter‘s Tale. After our class basically told her it was terrible and we didn‘t want to read it, she AMAZINGLY let us drop it off the syllabus. Mindy is me. 💞
I love Mindy Kaling. This book is really just a bunch of funny essays, riffing off little moments in her life, but they sure made me laugh. This is her first book, published in 2011, will get around to reading her more recent one someday!
This book surprised me! It was cute and funny. She narrators her own book so that was awesome! Her voice did get a little annoying though lol. But overall I liked it.
Bored. Tried twice. Giving up.
I like David Sedaris. The Office would probably suck if Sedaris played Kelly.
Great comedy-memoir: equal doses of background on how Mindy Kaling began her career in comedy writing/acting and random list-making run wild. I hadn't heard the story of many comedy writers as opposed to actors or stand-ups- interesting to hear about comedy arguments and what goes on in the writers' room. As for the funny parts, some of the jokes were clunkers, but she is so naturally funny that she can survive some misses- it's a numbers game.
This was okay. I enjoy her humor so I read it, but it felt a little lack luster.
This book was a fun and incredibly quick read. Highly recommend for travel. The chapters/essays tend to be pretty short. Kaling talks about her childhood, the beginning of her career, and all of her neuroses. Cute, but not exactly an autobiography you can tuck into. By the time you're tucked you're done
