Chrissyreadit Yes I‘m irritated. 4y
BookwormAHN @Chrissyreadit As am I 😾 4y
TheBookDream @Chrissyreadit @BookwormAHN same. Although I‘m mostly irritated they did such a bad job communicating. Really terrible. Probably gonna buy more Kobo books to sideload from now on. 4y

It appears my nook just took its final trip. It‘s been glitchy for awhile. And, I have a kindle and an iPad. My kindle is also glitchy too so I was going to order a new one this weekend. I did put the nook app on my iPad, as I have a lot of things on it I still haven‘t read, plus some favorites I like to re-read. So I‘m going to try the app out for a bit. It looks like books are pricier than kindles these days.

CocoReads I don‘t really want to buy a new nook. I mean, how many devices does one need? 🤷‍♀️ 4y
AmyG When my kindle died, I put the app on my ipad and never replaced the kindle. Worked out fine. 4y
CocoReads @AmyG, that‘s kinda why I bought the iPad. But I‘ve got a full size one which isn‘t as easily portable. So I‘m thinking I want the kindle for my main ereader and I‘ll use the nook app to read down my nook library. 4y
See All 6 Comments
LibrarianRyan I actually prefer the app on my iPad to the books. Unless it‘s an wink book but even then. 4y
CocoReads I‘m actually about 50-50 between print and ereaders. I tend to read more ebooks just because they‘re so portable but I love the feel of a print book. 4y
AmyG I have an ipad mini. So getting a kindle makes sense. 4y

My Black Friday shopping yielded ANOTHER Nook. This one has the night mode, good for low light and migraine reading. Still, no one can argue with this case though 😍#nook #blackfriday #nookglowlight3 #retro #library

I really want to order a nook glow light 3 but my simple touch is fine and I do not need a new nook.

Does anyone on here have #Samsung #Nook Tab E or A and mind answering a few questions? Thanks!

Beckys_Books My husband has a Samsung tablet with Nook but I don't know much about it. I can ask him though. 6y
TheBookDream @Beckys_Books I've been trying to figure out what android operating systems the Nook models run on. I'd hate to grab one and have it immediately be obsolete. 6y

I have "read" all ways: physical book, audiobook, ereader book, and on the phone visual and audio books, but...

I prefer physical books.

Megabooks I read all ways too, but there is something special about holding a book in your hand. 7y

The thunderstorm knocked out the power, and the PSE&G text alert estimated a 5:00 am repair time, so without electricity for the night, we're reverting back to living like they did in pioneer days: playing on the iPhone until the battery hits 10% so we can still use the alarm clock feature, and then turning on the backlighting on the Nook.

Mdargusch Roughing it. 😂 7y

I went to B&N to trade in my 1st gen #nook for this tablet I don't need. I'm glad they couldn't help me right away; as I waited for a manager to bring a coupon down, the minutes turned to reasons I did not need to add to my #kindle #ipad repertoire. I left the store before anyone came to find me. Mischief managed!

julesG 😁 7y
TheBookDream I thought about trading in for that, then just decided to save the money for an iPad mini 7y

RIP NOOK HD 2008-2017.

While I mourn I could use some eReader advice. Which do you littens prefer?

AmyG I use ibooks in my ipad. I don't have a laptop, so my ipad is my everything. 7y
KimM Hmmm this may be the nudge I need to finally get an iPad @AmyG 7y
Karen3 I use my iPad with mainly the kindle app and nook app, but just found hoopla and occasionally use overdrive. My iPad is my life. 7y

BookishShelly I love my Kindle Paperwhite. I have an IPad and am typing this on one but I don't like to read books on it because the Kindle Paperwhite is much kinder to my eyes. (edited) 7y
Bookladylinda Oh nooooooo this is my fear with my Nook HD! I'm considering getting an iPad mini, I'm also going to get the Nook Glowlight Plus because I still want a Nook product. 7y
Maike I'm using a Kindle Voyage and I love it. Like @BookishShelly said, I think a Kindle is better for the eyes because are the screens are not using a backlight as other tablets do. 7y
sprainedbrain Oh no! 🙁 I have a Kindle Voyage and I love it. If you just want a device for reading, I don't think you can go wrong with it. 7y
bookishkai I still have my Nook HD, but I do the majority of my reading on my iPad. I use the nook and kindle apps, Bluefire Reader for library books and netgalley, and iBooks for downloaded ePubs. 7y
lauren.lerner I've had a #kindle since I first went digital and have never been disappointed, but I'd say it depends on how attached you are to keeping the digital media you already own? 7y

I made the girls a little reading nook when I rearranged the living room! It's tucked next to the piano, behind the couch. The library chapter books are in the "I ❤ Reading" tote bag and the library picture books are in the "She is too fond books and it has addled her brain." bag. ?

BookishMarginalia Love it! 7y
slategreyskies What a cool idea! 💗 7y

A month ago I asked for advice on whether to buy a Nook or a Fire. I had never used either one and have never read an e-book. My kids put me out of my indecisive misery and bought me an iPad for Christmas. While I'm not sure I will read an e-book, the difference between reading Litsy posts on my phone versus the iPad is phenomenal. I think I'm in love with this new gadget.

LauraBeth What a wonderful gift! I'm always amazed when I go from looking at Litsy on my phone to an iPad! 😀 7y
Zelma Congratulations on your new toy. And omg, I can't imagine using my phone for Litsy. I use my phone only when necessary because the screen is just too small for me to see comfortably. IPad all the way! 7y
Alfoster Yay!😍😍😍 7y

Suzze I love my iPads. Yes two. I use both the Kindle and Nook apps on it. And, of course, everything syncs with my iPhone. 7y
britt_brooke 📱💕 7y
Gayan My husband bought me a Kindle Fire for Christmas and now I can see all the books, it makes me so happy. 😀 7y
minkyb My sister gave me a hand me down ipad. I love checking out ebooks from the library with it. Also magazines look really great. Nice kids! 7y
tpixie lol I should use my iPad- I'd need to do less screen shots to expand the pictures- esp quotes or stacks of books!! 7y
tpixie And with your iPad you can read thrumany apps- e.g. kindle, nook, kobo and iBook 7y
Suet624 @tpixie screenshots! I never thought to do that. 😃😆 7y
Suet624 @Zelma I know, right? But Litsy was worth it. 7y
tpixie @Suet624 silly me I have my iPad on my nightstand and never thought to use it I've just been using my 📱 7y

I bought an e-reader in February, I'm pretty sure it's one of the newer nook tablets. I only got it to read PDFs for work, which has saved me from printing off an obscene number of pages to only be read once. I've tried reading on an e-reader but don't like that all the books feel the same. I've never even hooked this up to wifi to download any books. #seasonsreadings2016 #ereader

A Nook, a Kindle, or a Fire? Go.

Suzze I like my iPad with the Nook app AND Kindle app. 7y
TrishB I have a kindle. Hubby has😄 7y
TrishB Whoops!! Hubby has several apps on his iPad!! 7y

Suet624 @TrishB and @Suzze, I forgot about the idea of getting an iPad. 7y
readinginthedark My parents have used both brands and liked them both. I think they're mostly equal now, so probably pick which features matter most to you and where you will buy most of your ebooks to decide. 7y
Suet624 @readinginthedark so if I buy a Kindle or Fire I have to buy from Amazon? 7y
readinginthedark @Suet624 I might be mistaken, but I think most Kindles only download Kindle format books, so yes. The Fire might be different since it's newer. I know you can download ePub format books to the Nook but not Kindle books. 7y
Yossarian I like my Nook because any time I have any sort of issue, I can just go to Barnes and Noble and they fix it. No mailing to Amazon or calling customer service. 7y
RanaElizabeth I had a nook for years and was an early adopter. Loved it hard-core. I currently have a Samsung tablet that has both kindle and nook apps but I still read exclusively through the nook app. If you are a library reader, I would double-check if your library has both epub (used on nook) and kindle options on books. 7y
RanaElizabeth But really, are you tied into Amazon with music/prime/whatever? If so, go with fire. If not, go with nook. But bottom line, maybe a tablet is a better option. There are lots of lighting options on tablets now which make exclusive e-readers less necessary. 7y
Suet624 @RanaElizabeth thanks for checking on the library reader suggestion. 7y
Suet624 @RanaElizabeth I actually try to stay away from Amazon. 7y
RanaElizabeth @Suet624 That's probably your answer then. At this point in the game, there really isn't much difference in ereaders between companies. Plus, if you get a nook, we'll let you in our gang. 😎 7y
Suet624 @RanaElizabeth all righty then!!! 7y
Bookish.Heart I have had both and Kindle and a Nook. Right now I have an iPad with both apps and I love it. The only problem I found with B&N is I'm constantly getting double charged for nook books I buy. My sister has the same problem. And it always takes a minimum of 2 emails to get the charge reversed 7y
Suet624 @Bookish.Heart hmmm. 7y
Zelma I prefer an ereader over a tablet I have an iPad and am on it constantly but not for reading books. I love the size and weight of a smaller ereader and mostly I love the eInk and no backlit screen. I have a nook glow and really like it. I'd recommend going to a Barnes & Noble and playing with the readers and tablets to see which style you prefer, then decide on a company to be linked to (kindle vs nook vs iPad using the apps). 7y
Zelma Also, Amazon and B&N tend to have the same sales and prices. Libraries lend both types of files(kindle and ePub). 7y
Suet624 @Zelma thanks Zelma! Very helpful. 7y
Zelma 👍 no problem. (Helping people fix and use their readers and tablets used to be part of my job so I have some familiarity with them. 😆 ) 7y
ReadThisBookYall I'm late to this discussion, but if you are on Netgalley, does that influence your choice at all? It seems that most of their titles download to Kindle (which I have), but maybe it's because I entered that as my ereader of choice? 7y
Suet624 I'm not on netgalley because I've never used an e-reader of any kind. 7y

I just "long tapped" a word in the print version of "Balm." Wow.

HardcoverHearts I hate when I do that! 😂 7y
annahenke How is this? Been meaning to pick it up! 7y
Donna_sBookMinute @annahenke -- The beginning isn't drawing me in like "Wench" did. But I think it will be a good read. I think the author is taking more care with developing the characters. It's promising. 7y
