My library holds all came in at once. Wasn‘t sure which one to start with. Ended up the Icelandic detective when he was just a beat cop.
Anyone have opinions on the others? Which one should I read next?
Littens, help me out! I recently saw a post about a thriller that takes place in Iceland and it had great reviews. I thought I added it to my TBR but now I can't find it. My mother-in-law was born in Iceland and loves a good thriller, so I wanted to get it for her for her birthday. So if you've read a really great Icelandic thriller that you recommend, please let me know!
I'm quite intrigued by this lslandic historical mysteries set during WWII.
pickThis is my third book by Indridason. He‘s an Icelandic author and all his books I have read are set there.The New York Times called him, “The prince of gloom,” and I agree. That‘s different than depression. I particular like the way he writes dialogue. The crimes he unravels are complex but not far-fetched.
pickThis book motored along nicely and gave us a glimpse into the life of Erlendur in his youth. Pretty good.
I was early for work today and l decided to gave a look in one of the bookshops in my city centre. I found a couple of books that intrigue me. No, haven't bought anything. I'll be faithful to my #TBRBingo 😏
This one sounds very interesting and different. I love historical mysteries set in unusual places

so-soA gentle book. Not sure how much is lost in the translation. Think I need to read one of his books that has won an award. Would maybe be a good plane read. Loved that I got a look at what Iceland was like in the past. Very different now from what I saw.
My next read. From the library. Since my visit to Iceland I'm very interested in reading Icelandic authors and watching movies and series from there.
I own all of Arnaldur Indridason's Erlendur mysteries except for "Voices". This year I hope to read Reykjavík Nights. #feistyfeb day 25: international crime
Love this series and am looking forward to seeing what inspector Erlendur was like as a young man
