This book was great! The humor reminded me of Douglas Adams. Go read this! Get an edition with the illuminated capitals if you can.

shanaqui I always loved this... And now me and my wife are on our fourth watch of the series (even though it hasn't been out long) because it's just so FUN and well adapted. 1w
rkeo I think I'm the only one who was underwhelmed by this book. The humor is definitely 5/5, but the story was pretty bland. 1w
Hufflepuffle I finished this a few days ago! Sooo good! I had the one with the illustrated capitals too, I loved them! Felt special somehow! 1w

Loving the illuminated capitals in this edition!

chaoticgoodhufflepuff I had no idea this edition existed! I need to go find it now! 1w
the-woman-who-read-everything It‘s from 1990, if that helps! I think it might be the first edition. 1w

I really liked this one! I could have done with less about the paleontologists the author knows, but the focus was still on the dinosaurs themselves. The audiobook narrator was also very good.

I loved this book! Space adventures, found family, with just a smidge of interplanetary politics thrown in. It felt like a cross between a Star Wars book and Firefly. I will definitely be reading the next one.

MayaB1226 I read this a few weeks ago and loved it! I‘m definitely going to be reading it again. I‘m so glad you liked it too! 2w

It took a while for me to get into this book, but I did enjoy it. I kept wondering how Christie was going to get out of her predicament. There wasn't always much action but I felt like that made sense with the plot. I appreciated that the author provided a list of the things that really did happen so you know which parts are fiction. Overall, I would rather read something written by Agatha Christie than about her, but I give this book 4/5 stars.

shanaqui Huh. I actually ended up giving up, but I'm glad someone enjoyed it! XD 1mo

I won‘t have much time to read for the next week because I‘m taking my end-of-program exam for my MLS, but I did manage to start this for a book club. It hasn‘t sucked me in yet, but since my time is limited, that‘s probably a good thing!

I only read this because it fit a reading challenge category, but I ended up really liking it! It felt very realistic, and while there was some teen drama it wasn‘t overwhelming. A little cheesy, but an overall fun read. 4/5 stars, will probably read more by this author.

I loved this book! It was a little more literary than I usually go for, but that‘s part of what made it great. This book provides a great look at other cultures while highlighting the things that all humans experience. 5 out of 5 stars, and I plan to read her first book as well.

This was a good read with an interesting take on the struggle between magic and technology. The plot is interesting, as is the magic system, and we are kept guessing about characters' goals and loyalties until the end. It's an old book, but for the most part it ages well, with the exception of its treatment of female characters. Any women making more than a brief cameo are ill, crazy, or only there to tempt a male character. 4/5 stars

shanaqui Something about this makes me really curious! I think maybe I saw it on my mother or grandmother's shelves back when, because it looks familiar... then again, classic fantasy covers are all like that! 😂 2mo
