It‘s day six of #bannedbooksweek2019. Today I thought I‘d go with two nonfiction books from my TBR. #InColdBlood has been challenged due to #violence, #sexualcontent, and #obscenelanguage. #NickelandDimed crimes are #drugs, #inaccurate, #offensivelanguage, #politicalviewpoint, and #religiousviewpoint . #standforthebanned
P.S. Why, yes! That is indeed my #bannedbooks mug from #theunemployedphilosophersguild. I love their bookish goodies. 😬😁😎
It‘s day four of #bannedbooksweek2019. This is a YA novel that I read for a reading challenge a few years ago. (I 💓 reading challenges because they do push me out of my reading comfort zone and that‘s a good thing!) This book has been challenged due to #offensivelanguage. 🙄🙄🙄.
So many books that came out in the early years of this decade tried to capture magic and delve into magical worlds like Harry Potter‘s. But in my experience most just didn‘t get there. Every one that I read I wanted it to be as good as or better than Harry Potter. And it‘s the same for this one. I love the basic idea of this story, but it doesn‘t quite meet the potential I think this story has.
I just finished after being on a waiting list at my local library for 4 months. And that was for the eBook. So, was it worth the wait? Yes, but. But it‘s a good slow burn romance and I don‘t regret the hours I spent reading it.
And I‘m looking forward to her next novel. Read this and her first novel The Hating Game.
These are 4 of my 5 lowest rated books according to Goodreads. I plan on reading and discussing why I agree or disagree with the ratings. Here's a link to my blog post if you are interested: https://coffeeandcatsblog.wordpress.com/2019/01/28/the-5-lowest-rated-books-on-m...
I finally read this book this week. I 💖 it. It is now one of my favorite books of the year. #romantsy #romance . And it works on two different reading challenges I‘m doing this year. Yay! #popsugarreadingchallenge (debut novel) & #readingwomenchallenge (a book bought or borrowed in 2019).
***Edited to add I‘ve just discovered a new reading challenge for romances. #HBReadingEmbrace. This book meets the #consentboner category.
Because we don‘t have your typical gaps around here. Not gaps made of rocks or mountains. We have gaps in the world. In the space of things. So many places to lose yourself, if you believe that they‘re there. You can slip into the gap and never find your way out. Or maybe you don‘t want to find your way out.
I just finished my first book of the#readathon. I like to start with a good HR. #romancy #deweysreadathon
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ & 🌶🌶
I‘m not including a pic because it‘s an ebook with a crappy cover. I don‘t know who designs this authors covers, but she needs to insist they hire someone else. 🙄
