Since the sequel is so short, I ended up reading it in a couple of hours. Soft pick. I felt it was more messy than romantic, and I was getting impatient while characters trudged through the murky waters of their feelings. Wrapped up too conveniently. While it was fine, it would have been fine to stop at first book too. Or make it one book. I didn‘t hate it, but I doubt I will be rereading it.

Epistolary novel. A pretty easy read. It is a story of how an accidental email turned into a pretty intense emotional affair. Was it a romance? Was it a warning that the line between flirtation and “too far” is invisible? Was it an invitation to look outside of one‘s bubble? To reassess a longterm relationship? I can‘t tell yet. The ending was logical. Apparently there is a sequel, I don‘t know if I care enough to read it.

I have to laugh at the three characters that immediately came to mind when I saw this:

* Roarke from the In Death series by Nora Roberts (writing as J.D. Robb)
* Lincoln from Attachments by Rainbow Rowell
* Henry from The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

With all the highbrow literary stuff I've read over the years, it's kind of hilarious that my three favorite book guys are basically from romance novels. #TLT

It seemed like a light read, but as a Maddow fan I thought I‘d give it a try. What a wonderful surprise! The author did an excellent job of addressing the serious struggles and traumas teens can go through via a school assignment. It really doesn‘t matter if you‘re a Maddow fan or not, this book will remind you what it‘s like to be a teen. Adults should read this and remember that teens today are no different from their own teenage years.

There's just something about how Rainbow writes characters that sucks me in. Beth and Jennifer and Lincoln all felt so vibrant and distinct, and I find the whole concept of this book so fun! I also appreciate how seriously she takes her situations, though. #reread #fiction #epistolaryfiction

I spent most of Attachments mentally begging Lincoln to shit or get off the can – but that‘s me being a bit of a cynical snot, once again. It‘s actually a light and charming novel with plenty of ‘90s nostalgia and a wonderful female friendship.
