I was not expecting to like this so much. I loved Allegra and her co-workers (Tripp was my favorite!).

I especially loved that Allegra kept a positive attitude throughout the book no matter what was being thrown at her.

I recommend this book for someone who is looking for an easy read that is also sprinkled with some wise life lessons.

As I try to finish book 1 of #WhartonBuddyRead find myself thinking Edith was up to speed about Perry Baker who renamed himself Dr. Pierre Bernard bringing yoga to America. Lots of scandal & running from the law , criticism from clergy, etc. And was it sex cult? I‘m not sure, still on my TBR .

Lcsmcat Oooh, intriguing. You‘ll have to report back after you read it! 3w
Graywacke I don‘t know anything about this. Cool! 3w

A timely message from my book of daily yoga wisdom as we enter the season of holiday frenzy.

dabbe I have been unconsciously following this advice as my answer to “What can wait?“ has been “Cleaning the house!“ 🤩🤣🤗 5mo
Amiable @dabbe That task can always wait in my opinion! 😀 5mo

I enjoyed this little book. I found a lot to highlight and can see myself reading it many more times as I continue on my yoga journey. I started practicing as a pandemic hobby in 2020 and have continued to practice damn near every day since. There's an entry to read for each day of the year, but I read it at my own pace. This would make a great gift for any practicing yogi or anyone interested in yoga 🧘🏿‍♀️

Amiable Love this book! I start it right over again on Jan. 1 every year. I think this is my 4th time through it. 5mo
CaliforniaCay @Amiable I love that! It definitely seems like the kind of book that never gets old 😃 5mo

11-23-23: My 96th finished book of 2023! I wanted to like this one more than I did. It was fine for the most part but I found the women to be a bit whiny. 4 college acquaintances meet at a reunion and decide to start a yoga class together. One is the yoga instructor, one is a editor at a publishing house, one is a web designer and one is a journalist. They forge friendships that will last while dealing with the perils of being a woman in NYC.

Perfectly Imperfect addresses the mental/mindful side of yoga over the physical side. In my short, 2 years of yoga practice, I went in fully expecting to work on and get satisfaction from the physical side of yoga. What I didn't expect is to fully embrace the mindful side and want to learn more about it. While this book talks about both, the emphasis for me was on the mindful side, I've highlighted so many passages in (cont in comments)...

TheHeartlandBookFairy this book! A favorite-" Wandering eyes equal a wandering mind; focused eyes equal a focused mind." And there were so many more! I'll be rereading this one many times! 5mo

8-23-23: My 81st finished book of 2023! I‘m a big fan of yoga so this book called to me. Lee and her husband, Alan, own a yoga studio in Silver Lake, a suburb of LA. Katherine, Imani, Graciela and Stephanie are students. Katherine, a masseuse with a past, Imani, an actress who suffered a great loss, Stephanie, whose having problems with a script and Graciela, a dancer with an injury. They all forge a friendship at the studio with Lee.
